Stucky the Mill was built in 1895 by Giovanni Stucky, entrepreneur and financier of noble Swiss family, whose father had moved in the Veneto with an Italian family Forti. The design of the imposing complex was entrusted to architect Ernst Wullekopf, who created one of the greatest examples of Gothic Revival architecture applied to an industrial building.
The building is striking for its unusual proportions than those of traditional Venetian architecture present on both sides of the Giudecca Canal.
The original idea to set up a mill in the Venetian lagoon came to Giovanni Stucky around the middle of the nineteenth century following the study of the operation of several mills in foreign countries. Based on these studies, the entrepreneur decided to take advantage of the Venetian canal for fast water transport of grain to be allocated to the mill on the island of Giudecca
We assure you that the peaceful Island of the Giudecca is the best choice to spend your vacation in Venice. This island has always been one of the favorite summer places of the noble Venetian families who built beautiful villas surrounded by lovely gardens and orchards, as well as churches, monasteries and convents. Some are still standing and others like the monastery of San Biagio became the Molino Stucky, a late 19th century art nouveau grain mill on the Giudecca Island in Venice. After a long and complex restoration finished in 2003, the Molino Stucky is now one of the finest and most comfortable buildings in the city. The left wing of the building is to open as the new Molino Stucky Hilton Hotel in Venice.
The atmosphere of this spacious apartment and the spectacular view of Venice will make your stay unforgettable. After having an unforgettable day in the Serenissima, you’ll appreciate relaxing in the comfort of this Venetian flat. The property is about 50 square meters and it has wooden ceilings, a big queen size bed, a spacious living room and a bathroom in Verona marble.
The Hilton Molino Stucky Venice offers a complimentary shuttle boat service from/to St. Marks Square (San Zaccaria) and from/to 'Zattere'. The boat runs at regular and frequent intervals on an individual basis for guests and can not be reserved.

Marika Simionato purchased this apartment in 2013
The appartment is in a fantastic position overlooking the Giudecca Canal and the building is in the same building of the famous Molino Stucky and also in a quite place.

We had rented your beautiful apt in venice in sept of 2016 and had one of the best trips of our lives! I wanted to thank you so very much for the use of your accommodations and hospitality! your place was as beautiful as the city of Venice was! I hope, in the future, to come back to Venice and to stay for a longer time to enjoy the beautiful city and people! Once again I am sorry it has taken me so long to write but thank you again so very much for making our trip and memories so perfect!

To visit Venice we found this apartment on VRBO. Having never been to Venice we frankly didn't understand that it's not right in the city of Venice; instead it's on the Guidecca Canal looking towards Venice. Situated in that quiet and charming area the apartment is in handsomely renovated Stucky mill building shared with with a gorgeous Hilton Hotel. Note: The hotel provides an invaluable (free!) water bus service throughout the day and night (no need to say you're not a Hilton guest) which made going back and forth to the city of Venice's San Marco stop very easy. And fun! Neshel, the thoughtful and hard-working property manager, met us on the dock as soon as we arrived and showed us around. Both Neshel and the owner Marika, were a pleasure to work with. The apartment is basic but it has all you need (we never even sat on the couch or turned the TV on)....but the BEST part is the view! Open the two gorgeous windows and you're overlooking the Guidecca canal with endless boats passing by- from tiny watercraft to massive cruise ships. We loved it! There's a great little grocer close by for wine and lots of fun food choices (don't forget to bring your own bag) and several good restaurants canal-side. Walk to Majer for delicious croissants and coffee for €1.00- don't buy coffee at the Hilton where it's €8.00!
We loved staying in this quiet and beautifully situated apartment on the Guidecca, away from the crazy crowds in the city of Venice, but a convenient 10 minutes water bus away. We wholeheartedly recommend it! Bravo!

Unfortunately we were unable to stay at this property. As we were about to board the train to Venice, I received a phone call saying there were plumbing issues. I was directed to another property. It was definitely not as "luxurious" as the property we booked. The last 6 photos shown are of the property where we actually stayed. I'm not sure why they were included with the photos of the original property. The bathroom and kitchen were much smaller than the ones shown in the photos of the original property. The second apartment was on the main island which was okay except we were travelling with another couple who stayed on Giudecca. We had to coordinate with them whenever we were to meet. The second apartment was very clean and was sufficient for our needs, just not what we had booked. Neshell was very helpful in getting us oriented to the neighborhood.
Thank you for a wonderful stay at your apartment. It was exactly as advertised and was so convenient especially with the free Hilton shuttle. There were great local cafes vailable for meals that were much cheaper than Venice central. Neshell was wonderful and so easy to contact. Follow her tips as she will give you the easier to route to the apartment. Thank you so much for your hospitality.
Just got back from our Italy trip and wanted to write a quick review because I felt everyone's feedback here was helpful for my planning. The apartment is exactly as pictured. It worked out great for my family of 5. Neshell was wonderful and had everything ready for us. She also was sweet enough to give my husband a bowl of delicious cherries as a father's day gift. The free Hilton water shuttle was a very nice perk. We just didn't advertise that we weren't staying in the hotel. One thing I'd like to mention which wasn't a problem I just wish I had known. No hand soap is provided. I knew there wouldn't be any shampoo etc but I wasn't expecting no hand soap. All in all - I highly recommend this apartment for your travels !!!!
