Why Matt Vorona chose Telluride Area

We have been coming to Telluride since the mid-1980's, enjoying the winter and summer in this outdoor paradise. In Summer, if not hiking the spectacular San Juan mountain, fishing in local streams or lakes or exploring the ancient ruins of the native Americans who inhabited the region, there are festivals in town the most popular being The Telluride Film, The Blue Grass and The Brews and Blues. In Winter, Telluride is an alpine skier's paradise, offering terrain that ranges from novice to extreme expert as well as ice skating or x-country skiing. This historic town is walking friendly with plenty of boutique shops and gourmet restaurants. There is a free gondola that connects the town to European-style Mountain Village. Once you visit this enchanting town you will desire to return again and again.

What makes this condo unique

Location: On the sunny side of town far from the noise of town yet still a quick walk to lifts, Galloping Goose stop and the store.

Setting: One of four units in the building with three separate entrances which gives you the feeling of a home rather than a condo.

Layout: Large living room with floor to ceiling windows, plush leather couches, a fireplace and decks on three sides allows a family to relax in comfort. With a large master and second bedroom each with their own deck access and bathroom and a spacious light filled loft, there is ample room for each person to find a peaceful place to retreat.

Friends enjoying first time in Telluride

The nice thing about the condo was there was plenty of room to spread out and relax. Each bedroom had a private bathroom which was very nice. The kitchen was well equipped and the furniture comfortable. I was surprised at how close we were to the other buildings. The condo also has a lovely view of soccer field and school and of course there was always the sound of kids being kids. There is a lot of construction noise throughout the entire town. The location of the condo is good. Close to a lot of things. I would suggest some updates to the unit. The shower in master was not too good and it looks dated and the carpet has seen better days. It does have a wraparound deck but it is a little on the narrow side but a great place to view the soccer game

Middle of the road

  • 3 of 5

I was hoping for a little more from this property given the price. Some of the good things: nice layout, hot tub available, wrap around deck, enough space and storage. The bad things: Construction and LOUD noises from the dump trucks etc from 9am-5-pm EVERY DAY. This made it impossible to enjoy the deck during the day and definitely impossible to take a nap. Also, the carpet was dirty as was the tiled floor. The carpet needs replaced and the tile floor had obviously not been cleaned from the prior stay(s). When we arrived the fireplace was not working, nor was the tv. Bill came the next day and fixed the fireplace, but he could not get the tv remote working and the picture was very cloudy. The TV is outdated and not a smart tv. That isn't necessarily a problem, but it should be disclosed, the remote should work and the picture should be clear. We have stayed in several properties and this has never been an issue. We were outside most of the day, but between not being able to enjoy the deck and not being able to drown out a little noise with the tv, it became annoying. The washer and dryer have already been written about so I won't go over that again. Bottom line, I don't think this price point is fair given the construction and the outdatedness of the condo. That being said the owner and Bill were nice when we spoke to them.

Owner's Response: Hi Jessica, Thank you for your comments. We're sorry that there were aspects of your stay which did not meet your expectations. We recognize some guests have had problems working with the cable TV remote so we upgraded to satellite TV. It should be more user friendly with improved reception. Between each guest visit, the interior of the condo is cleaned by a professional crew , including the kitchen and all three bathrooms. We've never had a guest complain about the cleanliness of the condo but I have spoken with the cleaning firm owner to request their assurance that each job is done to their usual high standards. We're also sorry about the noise level from the construction project at the local high school field that we overlook on the west deck. Hopefully the project is coming to an end. Perhaps moving to the deck on the east side of the condo away from the noise could have mitigated it but I understand that in the master bedroom and its adjacent deck there was noise during the daylight hours. Thank you again for the feedback. We are always looking for ways to ensure our guests have a great stay while in Telluride. Regards, Matt

Comfortable and Well Located

  • 4 of 5

Property is very nice and well stocked with cooking supplies, etc. Quality is decent and appropriate for price. Location by the high school was perfect for the grandkids who were attending Telluride Academy summer camp based there, and they loved having the single-over-double bunk loft to themselves. The other two bedrooms are also very nice and comfortable. Location is also well out of traffic and quiet. We enjoyed it and would definitely go back. One consideration with kids: downstairs neighbor didn't like the kids (6 and 9) romping, which is understandable but no fun trying to keep kids from being kids (raining the day she complained so couldn't send them out).

Comfortable place from which to enjoy Telluride.

  • 4 of 5

This condo is near the school in what is probably a quiet part of town normally, but they are doing a lot of construction right now. The noise wasn't really bothersome once we got up, but sleeping late was not a great option. The condo is very comfortable and clean, with the exception of a few minor stains in the living area carpet. The kitchen was great for preparing our meals, with plenty of dishes, cookware and spices. We only used the back bedroom, and the bed was very comfortable. The sheets and towels were of good quality. No problems with the wi-fi or tv. We were to have brought our grandson skiing, but circumstances were such that he didn't get to come with us. The only real improvement I would look for is to replace the gas grill outside.

Tomboy Condo in Telluride

  • 4 of 5

This was our first winter trip to Telluride and we wanted to stay close to town not up in mountain village, this condo is in a great location

just a short 5 minute walk to town. Condo is in good shape and the floor plan is great for a family of 4-6.

It was nice to have a kitchen w/gas stove as Telluride lost power for 20 hours when we were there which is rare!

My only issue was the fireplace did not work as the starter was broken and pilot was off so we could not start it.

Overall this place is great and I would stay here again.

Couldn't ask for more

  • 5 of 5

As soon as we walked through the door we were ecstatic with our choice. The photos on the website actually don't do justice to how big the condo is, with the living area being very large with high ceilings and great views onto the town-facing ski slopes.

It is right on the edge of town but a quick 5-10 minute walk to anywhere in town - we had a car but used it sparingly: only really to get to and from Montrose and to make a trip to Ouray.

5 minute walk to the Coonskin lift to ski, but watch out for the icy roads on the walk!

Hot tub was out of action for the first couple of days but was repaired and good to go by about day 3 and was a godsend after a day on the slopes.

I highly recommend getting to "There Bar" which is around the corner for dinner... The Brussel Sprouts are out of control!

Being an upstairs condo you do need to be mindful of the noise you make - we could hear people / conversations from downstairs and the owners downstairs also noted they could hear our TV / music, so bear this in mind if you like to make a lot of noise or are sensitive to it.

I'd definitely book again if given the opportunity to visit Telluride in future.
