4 Bedroom, 2.5 Bath close to Vermont's best attractions
I grew up in Waterbury and went to UVM for both undergraduate and graduate school. After buying the house I stripped it down to the studs and then spent several years putting the pieces back together, with a few modern creature comforts. My wife Jenni joined mid-way through the project, then our two little boys arrived. We decided to change things up and moved from the Green Mt. State to the Ocean State in 2010 to be closer to Jenni's work. We're now fortunate enough to be able to go back and forth!
Tyler purchased this House in 2004
Why Tyler chose Waterbury Center
It's a cool, old house that's been tastefully restored to be comfortable and cozy, with a good mix of old-school humility and new-school amenities. The central location is one of the most underrated benefits of Waterbury Center. You're close to just about everything, yet the area has a rural feel, and you can easily avoid traffic.
What makes this House unique
The property has a terrific sense of place. It was humbling to renovate a home built before the civil war. Most original materials made their way back into the house (after a lot of scraping, sanding and refinishing!).

We had a great weekend and the farmhouse was a perfect home base for us. The house is great! Great location and beautiful views!
Spotlessly Clean and Comfortable
This farmhouse is welcoming, comfortable and impeccably clean! Pictures do not do it justice! We stayed for a weekend to attend our sons college graduation in Colchester. It was a relaxing 25 minute car ride. The farmhouse offered us a place to relax before and after all the commencement festivities. We choose this instead of multiple hotel rooms for our guests. We are so happy that we did! Both my mother and mother in law were thrilled about the cleanliness and enjoyed spending time in the airy, open kitchen/den area chatting! My father in law also had plenty of space to get away. Everything you could possible need was supplied and the communication with the owner was exceptional. If we are in the area again in any season for any reason we will definitely stay here!
Charming home close to everything!
We really enjoyed having the use of this lovely house in Waterbury. My son was getting married at Bolton Valley and this home was a nice, central location for family to stop by and visit while touring other local area attractions. The owners have masterfully updated the home with modern conveniences without compromising the character of its historic charm. We found ourselves wondering about the history of the home and wishing the walls could talk! Definitely would recommend this property for friends and family. Owners are prompt in answering any questions, as well.
Perfect spot for a family getaway
We spent a great ski weekend here with extended family. The home had everything we needed to enjoy time together (4 adults and 3 children). Well-stocked kitchen and comfortable accommodations all around. Immaculately kept and beautiful wood flooring. Bonus: heated mud room floors! Highly recommend.
Home away from home! Beautiful restoration
We had a wonderful family week of skiing staying here with our adult children. The house was comfortable, warm and easy for a large group to enjoy family time. The house has been lovingly restored, and as old home fans we admired the balance of old and contemporary feel. Our oldest is starting to look for a home and fell in love with the character and styling!
Easy access to 4 great VT ski spots, perfect for us! And the owner was communicative and wonderful
Loved this property !
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property. The home (it felt like a home from the minute we entered) is beautifully restored and tastefully decorated. The kitchen was fully stocked with a Wolf gas range. The home has high end linens and the beds were very comfy. This home was extremely clean and Tyler was very responsive to the few questions we had.We were 7 adults and a 2 year old and the home is definitely child friendly and even had a great set of Legos which delighted our son! There is also a beautiful yard for the all to enjoy. We would highly recommend this property and we were sad to leave as it truly felt like "home".
Waterbury Center is a quiet neighborhood in between Stowe (7 miles away) and the Village of Waterbury (4.5 miles away). We're less than 5 miles from exit 10 off I89. It's a great location for a home base - the region's best skiing, biking, hiking and sightseeing is all within 15 minutes. Back road access is an added bonus during busy seasons!
We have recreation fields across the street, the Cold Hollow Cider Mill is a quick 2 minute drive, and Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream Factory is 5 minutes away. There are also too many restaurants and breweries to count. The Zen Barn is closest and is just a couple minutes down the road. It is perfect for the whole family, and has live music and many of the region's best beers.
The closest hiking is Hunger Mountain (5 minutes away) in the Worchester Range, which you can see from the house. X-country skiing at the Trapp Family Lodge is 8 miles away.
