Our 1100 sq. ft cottage was built in 2000, and is nestled on a large, partially wooded lot near the south end of Green Lake, in Interlochen. The mouth of the Betsie River is just across the lake from our cottage, and Interlochen Arts Academy is a short boat (or car) ride away.

The cottage has 3 bedrooms, all with new queen beds, and also a sleeper sofa in the living room. Large windows in the front of the cottage allow great views of the lake. The patio out front has a grill and a table, perfect for a relaxing dinner with a view!!

The cottage features a dock for your boat and a water trampoline for beach day fun.

About Renee M Townsend

We grew up in the Detroit area, and spent many summer vacations 'up north'. During our early marriage, we vacationed in the Traverse City area quite a bit, and always talked about getting a place here. In 2008, we finally did it!

Renee M Townsend purchased this house in 2008

Why Renee M Townsend chose Interlochen

We loved the proximity of this cottage to all that we love to do in the area. We looked at quite a few places on Green Lake, and just loved this piece of land...nice, sandy lakefront, some woods, quiet road...we hemmed and hawed about other properties, unsure...we knew in a few minutes that we liked this one!!

What makes this house unique

The view of the lake is beautiful and relaxing. The partially wooded setting frames the lake. Sunsets are spectacular. We regularly see deer walking through the property, and there are bald eagles nesting nearby...truly an awesome sight as they soar over the lake.

Very relaxing - had more to do than what the 1 week stay offered.

  • 5 of 5

Multiple choices for eating in the house, on the patio - or even down on the dock! Lake offered various days of water/wave types - for power-boating, wave runners and kayaking. Evenings offered campfire near the patio and gorgeous sunsets. Quiet nights and fairly secluded - with easy access with car to Traverse City and other restaurants, breweries and wineries. Recommend a repeat trip once you stay here

Very nice week!! Clean with everything you need for a great (and relaxing) time! Owners were wonderful to us. Sleeping Bear Dunes and Traverse City close enough to spend the day. The lake was clean and beautiful. The boat lift worked out very well. All around perfect up-north experience!
