About Jim Blewitt

My sisters and I inherited this property from our brother. We have spent a lot of time there while we were young and have loved the house and the outside activities. We have skied for many years at the Seven Springs and Hidden Valley resorts. In the summer there is Idlewild park for children, Falling Water and Ohiopyle

Jim Blewitt purchased this cabin in 1968

Why Jim Blewitt chose Laurel Highlands

It is one of a kind! There may be a lot of nice houses around the area but not one with the privacy, views, creek and pond.

What makes this cabin unique

Being close to the ski resorts, Falling Water and Ohiopyle. It is easy to get to the Pa Turnpike

It was a great stay. The owner was easy to get ahold for any questions we had. It's really a cute and cozy place. Our family loved it and our dog loved running around outsise and through the woods. We will definitely stay there again. Highly recommended.

Perfect getaway for family, big or small!!

  • 5 of 5

I'm the sister of two older brothers who live hours apart from me and each other. And our mom and step father live in Illinois. This place allowed for us all to be in one place for the weekend and it was absolutely perfect! It was mostly secluded with hardly any neighbors and provided everything we needed. We love fires, so we were able to build one inside and outside. The family dogs also attended for the weekend and they LOVED the big yard. The stream and pond were also a huge plus (enough that we might even go back in a warmer month when we can fish)! But more than anything, Jim, the owner, was so easy to reach and answered within minutes for absolutely anything we needed! I would recommend this cabin to anyone at any time of the year!

Gorgeous cabin with breathtaking views.

  • 5 of 5

Growing up my family stayed here for Thanksgiving celebrations and summer retreats. It was such a blessing to have my wedding at the same place where so many good memories already existed!! The cabin is unbelievably cozy and the amenities are endless. You're well taken care of in all aspects from inside and out. The front windows of the cabin bring the sunrises/ sunsets to you in an unexplainable fashion. (You just have to see for yourself!) The wooded trails and lake are just as I remember and yet I still discovered some new things. My husband and I enjoyed the whole atmosphere and had a nice, mellow, honeymoon. I can't thank Jim and his family enough for accommodating us and being so generous!! I truly hope to be back and celebrate again. :)

Great weekend getaway

  • 5 of 5

We've been coming up here each September or October fot the last eight years. They have made a lot of improvements in that time -- new grill, oven, dishwasher, TVs, etc. It's a nice rustic cabin, not too modern but definitely not roughing it either. Plenty of room to pitch a tent if that's your thing. Adjacent to the woods, but close to Donegal, Seven Springs, and more. The owners are flexible, accessible and easy to the work with.

A perfect spot!

  • 5 of 5

I was married at SanaView Farms in September and we rented the Aframe cabin for family to stay in the weekend of the wedding in addition to the buildings on the farm. We loved having a place for wedding guests camp at the top of the hill. We had guests coming into town Friday stop by the beautiful Aframe house to say hello before the big day and everyone was blown away by the gorgeous spot on top of the hill. We loved the pond! Having a fire to sit around and visit with everyone as we cooked marshmallows and laughed the night away was perfect the day before the wedding. The owner was very understanding with the timing of check in and out while we were involved in wedding details. It was jut gorgeous and added so much to the wedding weekend and the entire experience was absolutely perfect! I would highly recommend it, especially to anyone interested in hosting an event at SanaView Farms.

Absolutely one of my favorite places to just be.... and nothing else matters while you're here.

  • 5 of 5

The rolling mountains and wide open sky are the first clues that this place is special. A walk down the path takes you to marked forest trails abounding with all this ecosystem has to offer, plants, animals, water and the magical interplay amongst them. But the true gift this property has to offer is the clear refreshing waters of its (semi) private pond fed from the protected waters of roaring run. This cabin and its surroundings have been a retreat for my friends and family for quite a number of years now, in all seasons, and I regret letting this secret out to the rest of you solace seekers. You can't go wrong here, unless you rented it when I wanted it.
