Two outdoor patio areas. One that is nicely landscaped and has dining table and gas BBQ. The other one is overlooking the lake with seasonal fire pit, recliners and bistro tables. Great place to relax and take in the great outdoors.

The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you would need to cook any meal. It has a breakfast bar for 2. Microwave, dishwasher and garbage disposal. Dishes and utensils for 6. The dining table has setting for 6 (2 folding chairs).

The high ceiling living room has 47' plasma TV with smart Blu-ray / DVD/CD player and stereo. Basic DSL internet and WIFI. Propane fireplace.

Lake Cushman is a beautiful reservoir lake at the base of the Olympic National Park. During the summer months the lake is kept at full capacity. This is when we enjoy the water with swimming and boating. In the fall to help with flood control, Tacoma Power lowers the lake level. During this time, it is difficult to launch a power boat and it is the time to enjoy the trails and views.

About Elisa Corcoran

On a lark we took a drive to Lake Cushman. It was only our second time there but we fell in love with this property and decided to buy it that day. In a way, it reminded us of our years living in Ireland. The weather changes yet we remain snug in the ease and contentment of our special place. Over the last ten years we have steadily improved our get away.

We would like to share this with you.

Elisa Corcoran purchased this house in 2003

Why Elisa Corcoran chose Hood Canal, Olympic Peninsula

Ten years ago we stumbled upon Lake Cushman and this beautiful house perched upon high ground with amazing views. We knew we had found our family get away spot. We loved the idea of owning just outside the National Park with all the activities in and around the lake.

What makes this house unique

In the summer when the lake is full, the water is warm and great for swimming. We can fish, hike, pick berries and hunt for mushrooms. When we did not own a boat we could rent one. The air is clean and the water is pure. It is usually very quiet and we can watch the deer, elk and birds. In Fall the vine maples provide wonderful color. Winter months can bring snow and the scenery takes on a whole different view.

Beautiful property, cozy house, amazing view

  • 5 of 5

I stayed here with my girlfriend for a few days, and it was everything we had hoped it would be and more. The house was incredibly cozy, and felt like home immediately. The layout was very friendly, and everything was exactly where you would expect it to be.

I would highly recommend this property to anybody interested in staying at Lake Cushman.

A cozy and warm home in a beautiful and peaceful place!

  • 5 of 5

This home on Lake Cushman had everything we needed to make for a memorable milestone birthday experience. The views were outstanding and the house was so cozy while still offering enough space to spread out a bit between 4 people. One of the things we all greatly appreciated was the stocked kitchen. It's so typical to find a vacation rental that only has a melted spatula and some dull knives for kitchen utensils, but The Snug offered so much more! Sharp knives, plenty of cooking pots and pans, bowls, etc. It was great. Everything lived up to our expectations and we will certainly consider staying here in the future. Thanks for a great stay!

Great Cabin! Exceeded out expectations.

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely loved our stay here. This cabin has everything you would want for a get together with friends or family. It has about any appliance you could think of. The living room has a great layout for watching movies or playing board games. The back deck and sun room has a breathtaking view of the Lake and Mountains. The Landlord is very good about getting back to you quickly if you have questions. It is a very short drive to a great beach with beautiful scenery. If you are looking for some good hiking, the Staircase Campground (part of the Olympic National Park) has great trails (both easy and advanced) and is a short drive from this cabin. I would highly recommend this to families or a group of friends just looking to relax and get away. We are already excited to plan another stay here.

Peaceful get away!

  • 5 of 5

My husband, 11 year old son and I have enjoyed this home away from home. It was the perfect size for our small family. The house has an amazing view, that we enjoyed each morning on the enclosed deck, while we drank coffee and woke up slow.

While we brought our own games, legos, etc, there are games and tv entertainment provided and we are greatful for the very well stocked kitchen, as we like to cook together more often than eat out.

We spent each afternoon swimming and playing sports at the nearby community park.

We only live about 90 mins from this home but it made us feels world's away from the hussle and bussle.

Thank you

Comfortable and accommodating

  • 4 of 5

We had a very enjoyable vacation at the snug. It is very comfortable. The community is friendly and you can easily walk 4 to 5 miles in the neighborhood. Mt. Rose is very close, though it is a strenuous hike be prepared! Do make sure you set up all your boat and trailer passes though security is very thorough.

This place is perfect!!!

  • 5 of 5

We arrived at the place and found it to be very clean and very well maintained. The wrap around balcony was amazing. We had a stunning view of the lake. We often drank our coffee there and we seen deer every morning walking around the property. The sun room was very lit up, with multiple glass doors and a full sized futon. The furniture was all very comfortable. My kids loved it here too. They enjoyed seeing the deer, they enjoyed cooking smores on the firepit (i did verify with a neighbor there was no fire ban at the time, and the fire risk was 0 at the time) The cabin was stocked with board games and movies. The TV had a bluray player with netflix. The kitchen was very well stocked with had great appliances. During our stay we went to olympic national park and did the staircase trail. We also spent some time at the neighborhood park. We BBQ every night at the unit, the gas grill worked great. Overall it was a just a peaceful atmosphere and makes for a great getaway from the busy city life. The rental feels very secluded once you get inside the fence. If you just want to find a place to relax, then this is the place. We definitely recommend and will hopefully get the pleasure of staying here again.

Car: necessary

Most of the housing at Lake Cushman is governed by the 'Lake Cushman Maintenance Company'. Among other activities LCMC maintains the streets, water system, local community parks and boat docks and provides security patrols. Owners and Non-owners are required to display car passes on their cars when using they park at the several community parks. The owner is required to obtain guest passes good for 3 days at a time from LCMC during business hours in advance. They charge $10.00. Use of the boat launches also require a different pass. LCMC does not allow ANY boats to be tied up to a community dock overnight. This requires boat haul out each day. The launch fee does not apply to water craft that may be carried in and launched from shore. If you anticipate parking at the park or launching there please let us know in advance so we can procure the needed passes for you.

Parking at the lake shore along the Forest Service Road is free.

Olympic National Park charges an entry fee as well to enter at the 'Staircase Rapids' entry. They charge a minimum of $15.00 for a 3 day day use pass. Other types of passes are available also. We recommend a visit to the park.
