About Kirsti Hegg
I grew up visiting Bend every February to ski for a week. Now I am thrilled to have a second home to share with my family and with you! As 'outdoorsy' types, we love that Bend simply calls you to be outside. We love the mountain biking, downhill skiing, hiking--many of which can be done in the same day depending on the season! We also love the charm of Old Downtown, with all of its local flavor, and the upscale 'ritz' of the Old Mill District, with its multitude of concerts, art shows, and activities. Come play!
Kirsti Hegg purchased this House in 2013
Why Kirsti Hegg chose River West
Our biggest criteria for buying a home in Bend, was to be close enough to walk to our favorite activities, and we succeeded! We also love that the floor plan is open, bright and inviting, with a nice blend of class and comfort and room to relax on the deck facing Awbrey Butte, or the back patio which gets the morning and afternoon sun.
What makes this House unique
We love being able to have a houseful of people, but still sleep at night without hearing any of them! The 3 bedrooms are as far away from each other as they could possibly be. Also plenty of showers for a houseful of guests to get cleaned up after a day of riding, hiking or skiing. As the primary cook for our family, I love being able to prepare a meal and interact with our guests at the same time. It's a great social layout.

Perfect for our stay in Bend!
The house was perfect for our group. We could not have had a better location. The 3 bedrooms 3 bathrooms were great for privacy, but, the open living area made visiting easy and comfortable. We would recommend this house and hope to visit again next year. Kirsti was quick to respond to any questions. Thank you so very much.
Modern 3 bed, 3 bath & clean
We stayed in Bend the week of 2017 eclipse. House was well stocked with essentials, including bicycles. We had a very nice time in Bend visiting several parks and playgrounds, since we had a 4-year old in our group. Even found a beach on the Deschutes River for water play. Unfortunately there was a fire near Sisters, OR and was quite smoky for 2-3 days. We also visited Crater Lake, several hours south of Bend, worth the drive as is the deepest lake in U.S. Ate at 4 of high recommended restaurants and food was very good. House had 2 TV's, but we could not get the DISH to work in living room to watch regular local stations, but set had other options. A great place to stay for summer fun in Bend. Probably great for winter activities, also.
Sorry about the TV snafu... when I checked it out, it turned out someone had unplugged the HDMI cord at the back of the TV. Please feel free to contact me if you have any issues--I can usually have someone out to help the same day. Hope to have you back again!
Clean, quiet and comfortable.
Booked the visit for peace and quiet and a chance to catch up in my favorite city. Got exactly what I wanted from The Talon. Easy to get to, convenient and comfortable. Recommend this rental highly.
Virtually new, outstanding house for our family of 7
Great location, quiet neighborhood.
5 minutes form downtown
Super-clean, virtually new, great aircon system, great living area.
We will definitely come back.
Beautiful Home in great location
We enjoyed our stay very much. The house is in a great location and we walked to several restaurants, breweries and activities. The park by the river is fantastic and seemed to have an event almost every night we were there! Floating down the river was epic!
We really were impressed with how well stocked the kitchen was. They have everything you need to cook nice meals for a large family. Thanks for everything, we hope to come back again next summer.
Spacious, clean and convenient
7 of us stayed here for a conference. Very clean and spacious and comfy. Super convenient to the community college, groceries and downtown. Only negative is sound from downstairs travels very well upstairs, so the upstairs isn't the best fit for light sleepers if others are making noise downstairs. Helpful staff, quiet neighbors and good hot tub!
Trendy west-side location means you can walk or bike most anywhere!
Favorite Food: Broken Top Bottle Shop, across the street, is our favorite pub with a fantastic menu (and great Gluten Free options). Backporch Coffee makes a killer cappuccino 1/4 mile away, and across the street is Newport Market, home of fantastic gourmet groceries and the best produce display you've ever seen! 10 Barrel Brewery and Brother Jon's Public House are only 3/4 mile away, and Old Town Bend, with tons of fabulous restaurants, is an easy 1 mile walk.
We love mountain biking at Phil's Trails, about 2.5 miles away--explore hundreds of miles of single track trails. We've got a great map you can check out. Hiking along the Deschutes River from the Old Mill District is a great 3 mile loop--easy enough for the whole family. For a wilder experience of the Deschutes, head out toward Mt Bachelor and hike or mountain bike along the trails that stretch all the way to Sunriver. In the summer, float the Deschutes and get a quick ride back up in the shuttle, and in the winter, spend a day downhill skiing at Mt Bachelor (home of the longest lift in North America last I heard), or cross country skiing through the miles of trails, or snowshoeing to a lovely frozen lake.
Bend is our 'happy place'--there's just no room for boredom!
