Thanks for considering our warm and cozy home for your Santa Cruz vacation. We have spacious 4 bedrooms with 3 full bathroom and can comfortably sleep 11 guests + 1 guest on a rollaway. Three of the bedroom have skylights with 8 total skylights in the house so there's plenty of natural lighting. The entire house has hardwood flooring with ascent wood trimming to add a cottage touch. There is a large backyard with patio and seating for up to 12 to enjoy outdoor meals. Here are some more details about our property.

My wife and I bought this property because it has a wonderful, personal touch. The location is very practical and centrally located to all amenities and attractions. We spend equal time in Capitola and Santa Cruz downtown which makes this location perfect. Additionally, we are 1 mile from the Ocean and often walk there to enjoy the sunset and beach with our son.

The house was MUCH bigger than it looked from the outside. It was huge and there was plenty of room for everyone. It was clean and had skylights in almost every room. Close to the beach, close to restaurants, the perfect family home. We couldn't have picked a better house for my mother's birthday celebration! The only thing I didn't care for was the Roku only tv...but that's my personal preference. 5 stars!

Wonderful large home!

We had a great stay at this very big, well stocked, well maintained and centrally located home. We were a large group but with so many rooms and beds, everyone had a comfy bed to sleep in. We hope to stay again at this home with our extended family.

And it was very easy to work with David, he was extremely accommodating.

Fantastic, warm, stocked rental for our family

The house is WAY bigger than it appears from the outside. So much space for everyone, and having that many bathrooms worked really well when trying to get out of the house on time. The owner responded very promptly when I had questions before our stay, and he checked in during our stay to make sure I didn't have any questions. Very kid friendly and the kids loved the fun games and the hammock out back. We couldn't recommend this home more!

Great for a group retreat

There were 10 of us in our group coming down from SF for a weekend retreat and we had an amazing time. We had looked at other places, including AirBnBs, but this house ended up being one of our top options, due to the description and price. The first thing we noticed was how large and spacious the space was and everything was really clean and well kept. The neighborhood is very quiet and peaceful, although the weather was very warm the weekend we were there, so the street had a decent flow of cars driving through. We appreciated the fact that there were a lot of games in the house and it was conveniently located to all the major attractions. Santa Cruz is a very nice getaway and feels like going to SoCal without really leaving the Bay Area. Highly recommended!

Perfect for a large group

We spent the weekend in this house with four couples and four young children. The house was perfect for us! Loved the backyard and all of the games for the kids. The house was in a perfect location to accessing all parts of the Santa Cruz area. Bedrooms were very spacious and beds super comfy. Nice to have so many bathrooms for such a large group. The owner was wonderful to work with and always easy to contact with questions or concerns. I would definitely recommend this rental.

Definitely a budget rental :(

We hadn't realized how much rental houses had gone up in price since we'd last vacationed in Santa Cruz, and we were so glad to find a less expensive option in this house, especially one so spacious! Unfortunately, you do get what you pay for. There were many unexpected surprises: while the floors and bathrooms were recently cleaned, every dresser drawer/shelf was dirty and thus we had to keep our clothes in our suitcases. Many dishes on the shelves were dirty and had to be washed before using, the pans were limited and damaged (scratched nonstick, etc), the pantry was completely bare except for salt (no pepper or any other condiments; 1 sheet of foil with zero plastic wrap, ziploc bags, etc), and the toaster didn't toast unless you used the max setting and ran it twice (and it doesn't even pop up). More worrisome, one of the toilets has a very bad leak that we didn't discover until there was an extremely loud pounding noise in the living room. After around 15 minutes of investigation we realized it was the pipes under the house pumping water to the running toilet. Finally, you should know that the house is on a major thoroughfare for the city and so has loud traffic noise for much of the day. The next door neighbor has an incredibly loud motorcycle that he/she starts up between 6:30 and 7 am, so don't plan on sleeping in.

That said, it is much more reasonably priced that any similarly sized option, the yard is large and well-maintained, and the games kept the kids entertained. Would we stay there again? No, but we don't regret staying in spite of the above problems. I just wish we had known in advance in order to make a more informed decision.

Recommendation to the owner: take a couple days without renting to do a full cleaning, restocking, and repairing. Having 5 hours in between rental contracts clearly isn't allowing you to adequately keep the house well-maintained.

Owner's Response: This was a the nightmare renter every owner dreads. She was very negative before checking in and sour because she couldn't get an early check in. I wish this renter would've called me to express these issues during the stay. We did check and there was no leaky toilet. We do plan to upgrade the toaster, this was the first time someone complained about it. We are very responsive owners and react very quickly if there are issues. We have had many complimentary feedback, not all posted as reviews. We take pride in our home and it's definitely not a budget rental.
