About Katarina Sonntag
We moved from London to Glastonbury in the milennium, in search of a more authentic existence. I have worked in hospitality for over 25 years in various roles; with a Tour Operator, in hotels, youth hostels, owned a B&B, run a holiday flat in London, and finally Moonstone Cottage since 2010. I am passionate about creating a harmonious space, and my wish is to offer a memorable stay to inspire you on many levels. I strive for balance, both indoors and outdoors.
Katarina Sonntag purchased this Cottage in 2010

We had the most relaxing stay!
Moonstone Cottage was the highlight of our stay in Glastonbury! Quiet, clean, quaint, and so comfortable! The beautiful, private garden adds so much to the cottage's charm. Katarina was a lovely host who made us feel more than welcome. Her delicious home made cake and bread were a much welcomed treat after our long trip! Would love to return again! Thank you so much!
Comfortable with a pleasant garden.
Wonderful base to explore Glastonbury!
Great location, comfortable cottage and an excellent host. Would stay again.
cosy and very well maintained property in very convenient location and Katarina is a great host
Could not ask for anything more from this cosy, well maintained and conveniently located house and Katarina is a friendly, helpful and generous host. All mod cons combined with period charm ..lovely cottage and a short walk from all the main sites and sounds of Glastonbury....fantastic apple crumble from the garden was a nice bonus too !
Thank you ever so much Alex and family! It was good to meet you all, and we are really pleased you enjoyed your stay! Best wishes and hopefully we will see you again some time :)
Cosy relaxing cottage close to Tor and Glastonbury town centre
Katarina is a most attentive host and the cottage decorated charmingly. Within walking distance of the Tor and town centre the cottage has a delightful garden which backs on the Abbey grounds and is festooned with lights at night. We felt comfortably at home during our relaxing and restful first visit to Glastonbury.
Glastonbury has long served as the Mecca of the British Isles, representing all faiths and traditions, an eclectic and interesting town, steeped in history, myth and legend. At the last count, the town was said to have at least 70 different faiths - apparently the highest concentration per capita, in the world(?) Allegedly the burial place of King Arthur (just accross the stone wall at the end of the garden of Moonstone Cottage), at Glastonbury Abbey. This Abbey was once the largest and most important in the British Isles, and an important place of pilgrimage.
Before the sea water was pumped off the levels to provide fertile agricultural land, Glastonbury was 'The Isle of Avalon', lower parts of this town were once under water. Glastonbury Tor is the famous landmark of the area, visible from afar accross the level landscape of Somerset. The Chalice Well gardens and Rural Life Museum are major visitor attractions, and Glastonbury High Street is lined with cafes, restaurants and quirky shops.
The cathedral City of Wells lies just 5 miles away, and shoppers will delight in the variety offered at nearby Clarks Village. Also nearby are Cheddar with its famous gorge and caves - not to mention cheese, Wookey with it's famous caves and a whole host of other interesting towns and villages.
