Fantastic location for a family vacation

  • 5 of 5

We got together with three generations of family for a long overdue vacation. The size of the house was perfect for the thirteen of us. The location on the lake and the large patio was great for enjoying the weather outdoors. I would definitely come back again.

Owner's Response: This family was amazing! Even though us was a large group the Hubbell House was treated with care and respect. So honored to be a part of their multigenerational vacation together. I truly hope to see them again!

Totally met all our needs!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for a week with our adult children and families to celebrate our youngest son's wedding in Grand Rapids. Plenty of space and everything you need for a family of 9. We would happily come back!

What A Great Place

  • 4 of 5

I was in charge of finding a place for a family vacation which included my family of 5 with kids under the age of 10. My sister and her family of 4 with 2 teenage boys, and my mom and. Trying to find a vacation home that would accommodate 11 along with having the “essential amenities” and being affordable, was no easy task. The good news is we found the Hubbell House. The pool was fantastic and rather large compared to the pictures online. The yard was also bigger than anticipated which was great for playing corn hole and other yard games. The deck was terrific for everyone to sit on one of the supplied chairs and cast a line in the water. The fishing was great. We caught numerous catfish, small mouth, large mouth, bluegill, and carp right off the dock. My kids really loved catching 15 – 20 lb carp. Not the prettiest fish but fun none the less. The house is what many other people have stated. It is very roomy and offers several different seating areas so everybody has their own space when it is needed.. With 3 different families all under one roof we never felt like we were on top of each other. This was by far one of the most relaxing vacations we have had as a family and are grateful to Vicki and Craig for not only allowing us to stay in their home but for being very accommodating to my family.

Owner's Response: This family was such a delight!!! We are so happy to be able to accommodate such avid fisher-people, both young & old! I think there will be lots of fish tales told for years to come! This multi-generational family treated our home with great care and respect, while still enjoying everything the Hubbell House has to offer. We are thrilled to have been part of their very special time together!

I knew when we walked in the side door that it would be perfect!!!

  • 5 of 5

All across the back of the house, that faces the lake, are floor to ceilling windows and sliding glass doors... for fantastic views and breezes!! The first 4 days of our stay we didn't need the air conditioner because of the great cross ventalation. The pool was the joy of all of our grandchildren... it has a shallow end and a deep end so all ages were happy. The deck area around the pool is wide and spacious...lounge chairs and hammock, plus table and benches all fit on it with extra room to spare. We had 9 children and 5 adults all in the pool at the same time (plus and inflated dolphin and whale) and there was still plenty room for fun.

Inside the house, there was an abundance of dishes, silverware, and plenty of seving bowls and pots and pans to do all of our meals and celebration. My husband, the group chef, loved the grill and everyone was thrilled with all that we cooked on it. The kids loved sitting at the bar-like window sill on stools, while the adults ate in the dining room or outside. There was also plenty of games and toys downstairs for all to enjoy.. we even found a few classic games that amazed the kids with their vintage looks!!

The towels, washclothes and bedding was more than plentiful... and the hot water was hot when we wanted it,

and the cold water was very cold and tasted great when we wanted it. The refrig had an atomatic ice-maker on it and got it's work out!

The extra bonus was that the pool deck had a fence around it that latches closed so we could keep the little ones in the "extra big" play pen and the dog too!!!

And my youngest granddaughter whispered to me on her way out the door "this is such a fun place, can we come back again?"

The owners are extremely great to work with, there to help when you needed it.

Thanks for a very special vacation home... My family loved it!!!!!! (Thanks for the great weather too...that was

really a wonderful bonus you provided! LOL!!)

Owner's Response: Nothing gives us greater joy than to read a response like this from a multi-generational family that rarely gets to connect on all levels! We are so happy to share what we are so fortunate to have with others who really appreciate it and show the respect for it that this family did! We hope they are refreshed, rejuvenated and reconnected until their next time together. We take making memories at the Hubbell House personally and this family is welcome back anytime!

Great time had by all!

  • 5 of 5

My 9 best girlfriends and I enjoyed a fantastic week at the Hubbell House, for our 24th annual Ladies Week. The house is quite large and well appointed. There were plenty of comfortable beds for all of us to sleep in. Having 2 kitchens was a bonus that we thoroughly enjoyed. The pool was great, as is the surrounding deck. It was all of our new favorite place...and after 24 years, that's saying a lot! Thanks for letting us share your home!

Owner's Response: These ladies were an absolute delight from beginning to end!! They were so respectful of our home, but truly know how to have fun! Even our neighbors enjoyed their engaging charm! It was a privilege to be a small part of such a valuable "girls" time together. They will be welcome back any time!
