About Deb Lejins and Shera Marston
This family home was purchased by our parents in 1976. Our father was raised in Rockport and Cape Ann is home to many family members and friends. Currently 'The Farm', our childhood home, is owned by six siblings. Although two continue to live in Gloucester, the remaining four consider charming Gloucester our beloved hometown. It is a special place, especially during the warm months when one can fully enjoy the many opportunities to be seaside. It's a fascinating granite house surrounded by acres of quiet woods. Our family has experienced years of wonderful celebrations and memories in this house. We wish the same for you and your families.

Why Deb Lejins and Shera Marston chose Gloucester
Our mother was initially attracted to this property for many reasons. First it was big enough to convene her large and extended family. Second, she loved to garden and maintained several vegetable and flower gardens. Third she loved animals and kept dairy goats, a llama, a macaw, dogs and cats - all had a place at the farm.
What makes this House unique
'The Farm' consists of the main house and four other buildings (barn, tool shed, forge and water tower - all occupied by year round tenants) located on a multi acre piece of property. All granite used in the construction was quarried locally- each building is unique and a one of a kind. This property is an excellent choice for those who enjoy the outdoors in an amazing setting. Great for family gatherings!

Wonderful retreat. We will do it again in a heart beat.
Truly a diamond in the rough
The house was great...Deb and Shera are very accommodating, The house is huge, plenty of room for large families, nice yard, close to everything, this is truly a diamond in the rough....Thanks for everything Deb, hope to rent your property again in the future. :-)
The Hogwarts of New England
We spent a week with siblings and their kids. Because the house is like Hogwarts, with several large gathering spaces, we all had our privacy, but plenty of time to enjoy each other. Although there were only 2 window A/C units, since the house is at the top of a forested hill, the house cooled off nicely, each night. Deb and Chick were very accommodating and responsive, which was critical for my medically fragile child. We were finally able to enjoy a family vacation. Because of his needs, we needed refrigeration for his medicines (a great, big refrigerator in the kitchen and a tall dorm refrigerator in the great room), as well as the ability to receive medical supplies. Be aware, though, that when my brother-in-law came over for dinner, it was a bit awkward, as he is wheelchair-bound and all the rooms require a few steps up or a few steps down. He's a strong cowboy-type, so was able to get himself around, but just so you know.
The house was delightfully peaceful, secluded and exceptionally relaxing. It was like being in a family summer cottage, but much bigger. The kitchen was completely kitted out with lobster pots and coffee pot and filters. A full-sized washer/dryer and laundry detergent were very thoughtfully available. Beach towels, bug spray and barbeque equipment were easy to find and use.
I noticed a drawer of DVDs, but did not see a way to play them. I never asked about a way to view them, because we were so busy going to the beach and cooking together, but it might behoove you to ask about that, if it's a point of interest for you.
We are so grateful for the opportunity to have a full week's vacation with my family.
Fantastic Week in beautiful Gloucester!
We have just returned from another phenomenal week in Gloucester. This was our first stay on the Farm and we hope to return for many summers to come. The house was clean, spacious and perfect for a group of families. The children and dogs loved the grounds for exploring. The kitchen had every utensil or dish we could need for large meals at home. Deb and Chick were welcoming and kind. It is a four minute drive to the gourmet Willow Rest, fifteen to the beaches or downtown of Gloucester. Thank you for the opportunity to stay in this hidden gem.
This house was spectacular! Very big with beautiful architecture. A very "english cottage" feel. The kitchen was well stocked with any utensil we needed. Several bedrooms accommodated multiple couples. The yard was so beautiful, with a sprawling front lawn with so many beautiful wild flowers. We spent the majority of our stay grilling on the patio and playing lawn games. Gloucester center is a short 10-15 minute drive and there are a variety of beautiful beaches! My friends and I hope to stay her again at this little slice of heaven!
Wonderful Family Home
Our multi-generational family stayed at the Farm for a long weekend. There was lots of space to spread out, comfortable beds, and a well stocked kitchen for family meals together. The home was clean and had everything we needed. We explored Dogtown Common (house had a trail map!), Gloucester, and Newburyport. It was very quiet and restful for everyone. The kids loved exploring all the nooks and crannies of this house. Deb was great to deal with and worked with our different arrival times. As pointed out in the description, there are stairs in the house. Some quite steep. Mostly it is 2 or 3 steps up or down (think split level home). This could be an issue for someone travelling with very small children or someone with limited mobility. We thought it just added to the fun, quirky nature of the house.
Beaches, Whale watching, sunset sail, art galleries, great restaurants and live music.
