The Bayou Log Cabin is a genuine 1100 square foot cabin and located along the banks of Davis Bayou. The Bayou Log Cabin is situated under live oaks on a quiet and tranquil bend in the bayou. It is nestled right next door to the owners' home at the back of a small neighborhood. Life at the cabin is easy and comfortable, much like a tall glass of iced tea on a warm summer evening. With its open and airy floor plan, you never feel boxed in, and with the full length back porch, you can sit and watch the wildlife of the bayou go about their daily routine.
A drive of a few minutes will get you to any one of our downtown eateries or boutiques. Ocean Springs is home to many wonderful restaurants and bistros, such as Phoenecia Gourmet Cuisine, Leo's Pizza, BB's Poboys, Murky Waters, Mellow Mushroom, The Manhattan Grill, Chef Scott's Sushi House, Bayview Gourmet, Salvetti's Italian Grill, Mikey's on the Bayou, McElroy's on the Bayou, Cheryl's Steak House, and our Regis and Kelly and Food Network star barbecue joint, The Shed. In addition to the many wonderful eateries, Ocean Springs has boutiques for any price range. Quaint gift shops, pottery, jewelry, art, you name it...Ocean Springs downtown shops have it. We live right next door to the cabin and are long-time residents of Ocean Springs. There are so many things about Ocean Springs that we love...the friendliness of the people, Tato Nut doughnuts, boat rides to the islands, kayak rides on the bayou, shopping downtown, the harbor on summertime weekends, etc.
Wendy Hollingsworth purchased this cabin in 2013
This property is located in the city limits and at the back of a small neighborhood, but from the back porch, it feels like it is nestled in a quiet country setting. The deep back porch is a great place to unwind with a good book or just to watch the tide roll in and out. Your coffee just tastes better on the back porch of the cabin. And, if you need anything, we are right next door to help.
Great, peaceful family retreat. We really enjoyed it and it was fun having our dog with us.
For a quiet relaxing getaway, you cannot beat this cabin. We took our kayaks down and enjoyed several days in the bayou checking out the gator. The back porch is the best place to wind down, relax, and watch the squirrels in the back yard. Great owners, friendly, and took care of a minor issue immediately. Nice quiet neighborhood and Ocean Springs has all sort of places to eat if you do not want to cook in this equipped cabin. We highly recommend a stay here and plan a return trip.
The cabin was just the right size for our weekend getaway. We enjoyed everything!
We had a fantastic time at the cabin! Very conveniently located near all
the places we wanted to visit. We will definitely return.
We really enjoyed our stay. It was so relaxing and the cabin was very charming. Would definitely come back. Thanks for allowing us to spend our one year anniversary here.
We enjoyed our stay on the Davis Bayou. The cabin was very clean. Sitting on the back porch in the early morning and late afternoon was beautiful. I enjoyed paddling out to Biloxi bay. The first day I went to the Hwy. 90 bridge which is about 7 miles from the cabin and the next day I went to deer island. Weather you are looking for a place to get a good work out or just relax this is the place.
