Positive. Owner responded quickly to any problems. Nice quiet neighborhood.
Not what it could be !
Walked in filthy. Kitchen cabinets mismatched items, kitchen glassware, pots and pans put back dirty, cutlery dirty, had 3 loads of dishwashing.then bedding soiled ,stained ,hairs on pillows and sheets! , Bathrooms both original broken drains, tub faucets not proper and corroded. Deperate need of new furniture! Looks like all hand me down or thrift store. The pictures posted are From Reno yrs ago!
This house could be lovely. It’s lack of attention and maintenance are poor. For the cost certainly expected much more. Area was nice quite secluded but to wipe and clean things first day and still have filthy feet was disappointing to say the least. Will visit area again but probably not through Vrbo very misleading. It took us this time to respond after several requests for a review only reminded us of it all !
Thank You for your stay last year along with your review! I wish you would have told us of any cleaning problems as we would have corrected them immediately. Cleaning or maintenance issues that arise are addressed promptly. In addition, we regularly perform maintenance of the home in order to keep it in great shape. Alfie's Place was cleaned prior to your arrival. To meet our high standards we changed cleaners in early 2020. Our VRBO photos are from September 2018 after we finished renovations so therefore the photos are accurate and not misleading. The furniture is good, although not from a high-end more expensive home that you may have anticipated, rather than the affordably priced home that we offer. Thanks again for coming and we hope you will give our home another try.
Great stay for fishing.
Overall the place was very accommodating but needed a bit more cleaning. Floors were very sandy which one might expect being in this location but bed sheets were as well. Hoped they just made contact with the floor during cleaning but was definitely concerning and when the bath towels smelled like they hadn’t been washed with detergent, it made me question what had been cleaned and what hadn’t! There was no detergent at the house, which also made me wonder, so we had to go to town, Buy some plus oxyclean and wash everything! Fortunately this was a guys fishing trip and we just dealt with it but just hope the owners can see to it that these issues are addressed for future tenants as had this been a family trip, my wife would have been having no part of it! I’m not one to complain and just fix the problems but I kept getting the request to comment on our stay so there you have it, minor complaint after I fixed the problem myself.
We have addressed this issue with our cleaning company. We live close by and will quickly respond to any issue. We hope that you will visit again. We value our guests and want them to have a great time.
Awesome Place to Stay
Alfie's Place is always our first choice when all the guys get together twice a year to come fishing. We love the location and it satisfies all of our needs. Looking forward to coming back in the spring.
My dogs and I enjoyed it

About Serena and Al Mirabella
My wife and I came back to the panhandle of Florida after I retired from the Marine Corps. We wanted our children to grow up in this pristine part of Old Florida. We live in historic Apalachicola, just a short commute from Indian Pass. We call it our 'happy place'. We are active in the community and feel like our life is all we hoped it would be. Why Serena and Al Mirabella chose Port St. Joe
The house 'Alfie's Place' was my parent's beach cottage. It was my father's pride and joy. He has left it to our safe keeping. It is close to the beach(just a block and a half) for fishing, swimming, boating and sunning. An advantage to having owners less than a half hour away is that we are close at hand and take active participation in it's upkeep.
What makes this Cottage unique
Visitors can feel like they are in a tree house. Mornings on the screened porch with a cup of coffee, listening to the birds and hearing the waves from the gulf calm the spirit. Take a stroll on the beach at sunset after having a meal of your catch of the day finishes off a perfect day.
