About the property

2 Large Bedrooms, 1 Bathroom Close To The St-Lauwrence River And Action

Simple, confortable and well located.

The apartment is on Wellington, the main street of Verdun. Nice cafes, restaurants, bakeries and other facilities are at your door. You may want to take the metro or the bus to get to the festivals or to the Old Montreal. Your are 10 minutes away from everything. And it is so easy...

But there is more, within a walking distance from the river, you can have a picnic, or watch a show, or a performance, you can dance every day, even take lessons, always outside in the park. Or you can simply rent a Bixi and ride all along the river.

People are nice and friendly, if you want to experience Montreal with montrealers this is the place.

The apartment is on the second floor. There are two large bedrooms, one with a queen size bed and the other one with two single beds that also make a king size. One bathroom and a separate room for washer and dryer. Nice living room, with a hidebed, space for the computer and an electric fireplace for the ambience. Small kitchen, but well equiped and convenient. Large balcony where you can sit and relax. Air conditionning, cable TV, high speed internet WI-FI, and a station for Ipod MP3, Ipad or Iphone.

About Sylvie Ayotte

Because I love traveling, and that I rent myself when I am home away, I decided to create a nice place for others who come to visit Montreal. I work as an accountant, for an organisation that help business woman to grow.

I was born and rise by Quebec City, but I am now a Montrealer since 1986 and love it.

I am self-taught, and did different things in my live, from tourist guide, art seller, or accountant. I have my own business for stamps collectors since 7 years, and now landlord to welcome people from all over the world. I have 3 nice apartments to rent, different location and style.

I actually live with my grand son, who decided to go back to school, and I am very proud of him.

My life is simple, my family, my cat and travelling.

Sylvie Ayotte purchased this apartment in 2012

Why Sylvie Ayotte chose Montreal

Because it had the caracter and the location I wanted. Because it is a solid 105 years old building...

What makes this apartment unique

This house was a real challenge, because the first floor was some kind of toutist rooms and the City didn't want that anymore. It had to be stripped completely. And I wanted to do something like that, start something from scrap and rebuilt...Everybody said I was fool but I did it...

A truly Montreal experience!

  • 5 of 5

This apartment is a truly Montreal experience, from the outside spiral staircase to the second floor unit, to the large balcony off the kitchen. Fully equipped, with original wood floors and mouldings, the apartment is located minutes from downtown but in a quiet neighbourhood, close to bus and metro options. Wellington Street is a lively commercial strip with everything you could need within a few blocks - banks, grocery store, restaurants - but no bars, so there's little noise later in the evening.

I greatly enjoyed the firm bed, it did wonders for my bad back, but my friends staying in the other bedroom found the bed a bit too firm for their taste. There is abundant hot water and a soaker tub in the bathroom to relax in after a long day of sightseeing.

I had no problem finding a parking spot for the rental car each night - although you do have to read the signs - certain areas can only be parked in on certain nights (for example, no overnight parking on Wellington itself).

Sylvie met me in person upon arrival, showed me around, and answered my questions. She left me a cell number for problems but I never needed to use it. I found her polite, professional and organized. Overall, I would stay at this apartment again and would not hesitate to recommend it to friends.

Fun vacation

  • 5 of 5

The rental was very comfortable for our family of five. Everything was clean and nicely decorated. The kitchen had all the dishes, utensils, pans and small appliances we needed. We loved having the back porch space. The location was great! Close to the subway, on a fun street with restaurants, cafes, stores, near swimming pool and playgrounds. We enjoyed city living for the week.

Verdun Get Away

  • 5 of 5

This apartment is on what people in the USA consider the second floor. It's at the top of an outside staircase - typical of Montreal apartment buildings. Wellington is the main street in Verdun but we didn't notice much traffic noise and things shut down pretty early at night. The apt. was very clean and had plenty of room for my husband and me when we stayed for a week in early June. We enjoyed sitting on the back balcony having our morning coffee. One bedroom has a queen bed and one has twins that are pushed together as a king The kitchen is well equipped with new appliances and it was great having the laundry room. Internet Wi-Fi and the TV worked very well. There is a desk top speaker for Bluetooth. The air conditioning unit in the living room cooled the entire apartment.

Verdun is just a few metro stops from downtown Montreal. The L'Englise Metro station is just 2 to 3 blocks away. A great seafood restaurant is right across the street from the apt and the grocery store, pharmacy, micro brewery and coffee shops/bakeries are all within easy walking distance. Public pool, tennis courts, walking trails by the river and bike paths are close by.

Sylvie was very accommodating and I knew I could call on her if need be.

First time in Montreal

  • 5 of 5

The apartment was great for our stay of ten days. It was very well equipped and spacious. The small supermarket and boulangerie nearby catered for our daily needs and we ate out in the evenings in several of the local restaurants. Travelling into the city was a doddle both by bus and Metro. There was a lovely walk along the nearby river. Sylvie was there to greet us and to bid us farewell on the last day. We managed to source a taxi rank{near the Metro] for the trip to the airport. Written information in a folder would have been an asset. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Verdun and are glad we looked for accommodation outside the city.

Great stay! Excellentes vacances!

  • 5 of 5

My family had a great stay in this beautiful apartment.

Everything is close: metro (subway), grocery shops, good restaurants, bakeries, Saint Laurent river, parks, bicycle line...

The owner is very nice.

The apartment is big enough for 4 people. The rooms are spacious, well equipped and confortable. The pretty decoration and the terrace makes it even more enjoyable to visit Montreal and Verdun.
