Fantastic host and house !
The house is beautifully decorated , super comfortable, clean, beautiful views wherever you are in the house . Isabelle is very helpful, it just felt like home! We will definetly come back Hydra and only to this house !
Lovely house in a fantastic village
We had a fantastic time in this spacious, clean and soulful house. We were a group of friends including two families with small children. Both the location in town, the house itself, and the many different zones of the property allowed us to spend time together in groups or by ourselves depending of the needs in different situations. (Having small children it is better not to be depending on using a stroller, as Hydra is full of stairs... bring devices to carry your kids on your back instead.) It was great to walk down to the Kamini area and feel the local vibe! Big thanks to Isabelle who was most helpful with everything and was always available when we had a question.
Great island and great house!
We have been greeted in the port by the muleteer who works for the house who took our luggage and we followed him in the relatively short climb on the hill where the house is located.
The house was practically better than descrbed: a 2 centuries old house, very nicely renovated and decorated and offering all modern amenities (incl. dishwasher, A/C, wifi, etc.). The bedrooms (with en suite bathrooms) were very nice and clean. The house has also 2 large terraces with views to the rest of the village and to the sea. I would recommend and, if back to Hydra, would repeat.
Idyllic holyday property
Very nice house, tastefully decorated, spacious, clean and functional. Very well located, quiet with a lovely view of the hills of Hydra and the sea. We were very well received. There is nothing to complain about.
The island is superb ...Idyllic holidays!
Very nice, beautiful, and lovley
No car at all ! A totally unspoiled environment ! Hydra Island, one of the most beautiful and interesting islands in the World, is a small rocky island in the Argo Saronic Gulf. It’s very cosmopolitan, safe and only one and a half hour far from Athens. Hydra maintains a charm and warmth off the tourist trail. If you are looking for a step back in time and an appetite to experience the ‘real’ Greece then Hydra has lots to offer. The beautiful houses of traditional island and Venetian architecture, the beaches in summer and some great walks are just a few of the things the island has to offer. Watch the boats, fishermen in the early morning, the people go by, visit the art galleries, churches and museums, explore the island’s history and quaint shops. As there are no motorized vehicles, it really does have the feel of being left untouched by the modern world although you will find all the ‘real world’ conveniences.
Decreasing rate according to length of the stay. The security deposit will be returned at departure minus the amount of renter's water consumption (4,5€/cubic meter). The water consumption is about 10€ / person / week. We ask it as an incentive for our guests to save water, Hydra being a 'dry' island that has to import its water from the nearby mainland.
