Whispering Pines is a beautiful and comfortable home located in a quiet, safe, and friendly neighborhood. If you desire a peaceful and relaxing vacation, our home will be perfect for you. It is an ideal location for families and outdoor enthusiasts. There is a variety of activities only minutes away...hiking, biking, kayaking, fishing, golfing, horseback riding, etc. The Upper Truckee River is just down the street. You can walk or bike to Meyers and enjoy a handful of restaurants. It's an easy drive to the majestic Lake Tahoe or the nightlife/casinos at Stateline. For the winter months, there are several ski resorts in close proximity: Sierra-at-Tahoe (8.6 miles), Heavenly (9.8 miles), and Kirkwood (26.4 miles). There are also areas for snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and snowmobiling nearby. Enjoy beautiful forest views from our backyard. You can hear birds singing, watch the chipmunks scurrying up the trees, or listen to the whispering pines. In the winter, you and your family will have a blast playing in the snow, building snowmen, sledding, or just cuddling up by a warm fire. Our home includes modern amenities, but rustic decor to give it a unique Tahoe feel. We hope you enjoy our home as much as we do!

beautiful home with native adornments

  • 5 of 5

Thanks Lana for sharing your fabulous house with us and being an awesome host. Everything about your house is splendid. Starting with the welcome card, chocolates and martenelli we knew we were in for a fun and memorable weekend. We loved the native decor and furniture. With foosball and ping-pong for the active, hammock and swing for the elders, indo board for the adventurous and netflix for the family, your house had it all. It was almost as if your house is the main attraction and Lake Tahoe is bonus ;p. Thanks again for being a great host by allowing for flexible check-in check-outs and helping us with accessories we forgot to bring as well as stuff we forgot to take back :).

Magical Place

  • 5 of 5

We spent hours looking for the right place near Lake Tahoe to gather with loved ones to celebrate my 35th birthday and this by far exceeded any of our expectations. The hosts Lana and Nate take special care in not only meeting the needs of their guests, but also surprised us with extras that added a magical touch to our time at Whispering Pines, from having an oil diffuser going so we walked in to a sweet healing scent, setting up birthday decorations, a birthday card with a super sweet gc to a local restaurant, and good bottle of wine, to sharing awesome hiking books, a wonderful dvd collection, board games, wood for the fireplace, awesome smelling body wash, shampoo and conditioner, plenty of great quality towels, beautifully decorated rooms, each with an adorable theme. You will feel at home and on vacation all in one, Lana and Nate honestly thought of everything and you could feel it. Nestled in a quiet neighborhood with a backyard that leads directly into a beautiful forest of trees and rocks to hike and climb over any nature lover will be in heaven. One of my favorite moments was relaxing in the hot tub and marveling at the sky full of stars above after the long day of packing and unpacking, we had just finished relaxing on the super comfortable couches and I thought I might sleep on them until I tried the bed. ;) All of our guests were in love with the place, it really helped to bring us together and enjoy the company that much more. I can't give Whispering Pines the justice it deserves. I hope to visit again soon maybe in the winter this time! I couldn't thank the hosts enough for sharing this beautiful space with us.

Well furnished home that was very welcoming. Had everything we needed and the owners were very friendly and responsive throughout. Despite being a bit outside of town, we will definitely be looking to return!

The property was as described and more!

  • 5 of 5

My family and I had a wonderful vacation. The house was roomy, clean, and well supplied with anything you need. Each room was uniquely decorated. The huge sectional couches were extra comfy. The neighborhood was peaceful and quiet and away from the crowds. We miss staying there and definitely will be back!! Thank you Lana :)

Couldn't have asked for a more comfortable place to spend time with my family. We had seven adults and a baby. There was even a crib and high chair for him. The house has everything you need and then some. Quiet neighborhood not for from town. Lana knew we were celebrating a Birthday, and left us some little extras! We never wanted to leave. Hope to be back next year!

This is a wonderful secluded cabin with amazing amenities. Peaceful and relaxing! We will be back!

  • 5 of 5

First, I'd like to mention, there are so many wonderful things to say about this place...I don't know where to begin with the review of this So Lake Tahoe cabin.

It was our first time staying at Whispering Pines and it certainly will not be the last! Growing up our families have frequently rented different properties throughout the entire Tahoe area. I can honestly state that Whispering Pines was the most thoughtfully supplied and cared for property I have ever stayed at in Tahoe (or anywhere for that matter...and I travel a lot). The beds are large and comfortable, the towels soft, the decor had wonderful personal touches inside and outside the home.

The kitchen...amazing! Every utensil you could possibly want and/or need.

The house is situated among tall trees, and the snow run off contributed to two peaceful streams descending down both sides of the property. That, coupled with the breeze in the trees, wine and chocolate, and the hammock in the back yard… you could not ask for anything more deliciously relaxing.

You don't to relax all the time? Then play one of the myriad of games they offer. Had a blast of a time with Ping Pong, table soccer. Many board games as well as outside games are supplied.

Our only regret is that we did not bring our dog, the house is dog friendly, and has a wonderful dog bed in one of the rooms along with a basket of dog toys. Adorable!

Great place...great stay...and we will definitely be back!!!
