Whispering Pines is a beautiful and comfortable home located in a quiet, safe, and friendly neighborhood. If you desire a peaceful and relaxing vacation, our home will be perfect for you. It is an ideal location for families and outdoor enthusiasts. There is a variety of activities only minutes away...hiking, biking, kayaking, fishing, golfing, horseback riding, etc. The Upper Truckee River is just down the street. You can walk or bike to Meyers and enjoy a handful of restaurants. It's an easy drive to the majestic Lake Tahoe or the nightlife/casinos at Stateline. For the winter months, there are several ski resorts in close proximity: Sierra-at-Tahoe (8.6 miles), Heavenly (9.8 miles), and Kirkwood (26.4 miles). There are also areas for snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and snowmobiling nearby. Enjoy beautiful forest views from our backyard. You can hear birds singing, watch the chipmunks scurrying up the trees, or listen to the whispering pines. In the winter, you and your family will have a blast playing in the snow, building snowmen, sledding, or just cuddling up by a warm fire. Our home includes modern amenities, but rustic decor to give it a unique Tahoe feel. We hope you enjoy our home as much as we do!

This is a wonderful secluded cabin with amazing amenities. Peaceful and relaxing! We will be back!

First, I'd like to mention, there are so many wonderful things to say about this place...I don't know where to begin with the review of this So Lake Tahoe cabin.

It was our first time staying at Whispering Pines and it certainly will not be the last! Growing up our families have frequently rented different properties throughout the entire Tahoe area. I can honestly state that Whispering Pines was the most thoughtfully supplied and cared for property I have ever stayed at in Tahoe (or anywhere for that matter...and I travel a lot). The beds are large and comfortable, the towels soft, the decor had wonderful personal touches inside and outside the home.

The kitchen...amazing! Every utensil you could possibly want and/or need.

The house is situated among tall trees, and the snow run off contributed to two peaceful streams descending down both sides of the property. That, coupled with the breeze in the trees, wine and chocolate, and the hammock in the back yard… you could not ask for anything more deliciously relaxing.

You don't to relax all the time? Then play one of the myriad of games they offer. Had a blast of a time with Ping Pong, table soccer. Many board games as well as outside games are supplied.

Our only regret is that we did not bring our dog, the house is dog friendly, and has a wonderful dog bed in one of the rooms along with a basket of dog toys. Adorable!

Great place...great stay...and we will definitely be back!!!

Jaw dropping Experience

  • 5 of 5

Everything from the decoration to location, this cabin screams coowzy comfort vacationing! Everyone in our group enjoyed the house and admired all the extras the cabin hosted! We sled and made snow men right in the back yard! The hot tub and grill made our evening full of fun, laughter, and left us with amazing great memories! During our stay we watch a couple of blue birds attempting to build a nest in the back yard. Each bed is comfortable and covered with fluffy comfortors, warmers and massive pillows! There is a crib available and children toys! Instruments and firewood were provided for us! An oil diffuser, a million movies, snow sleds, even a mini BBQ toy for my son to "cook" along side dad! I'm sorry to rant, but this cabin was amazing!! It was like staying at my grandmothers house for the weekend; we were taking care of!

This cabin is a great experience of the beauty of Tahoe, only minutes away from town and the lake!

Personally, I want to thank Lana and Nate for hosting such a wondering rental! We appreciate the flexiable checkin time and all the extra necessities your cabin provided!

Note to all who are interested in renting this cabin::: you will not be disappointed!!

Absolutely Fantastic Stay

  • 5 of 5

Could not asked for a better place to stay. The place was fantastic! Location was great, home was nice and clean, the house was had a great theme, and we really enjoyed the hot tub. In addition the hosts were very gracious; as a matter of fact we had an issue with the TV (operator error :) - I sent an email describing the problem and the owners were calling me within 15 minutes. I highly recommend this property not only due to the home itself the attentiveness of the owners as well! Thanks for letting us stay in your beautiful home!

Quiet Secluded Hideaway Nestled Among The Pines in Christmas 2, South Lake Tahoe, CA

  • 5 of 5

What a wonderful vacation home! We could not have asked for a more lovely setting for a family and friends get together. The home is so warm and comfortable and unbelievably well stocked (even to the dental floss I forgot to bring) and there is even a guitar if you forget yours. It is close to all the ski slopes and adventure parks for zip lining and obstacle coursing for the children and casinos for the older ones. As for my husband and me and our Border Collie Lük we were just happy relaxing and enjoying the comforts and setting of the home, not to mention the spa (well Lük did not experience the latter). We loved the fireplace conversations and making fires with the furnished wood especially when we got an unexpected snow storm and the true beauty of the setting became apparent. I especially liked the fact that the only clock was the one on the stove unless you bring your cell phone (and although the cellular reception is nil we had no problem calling and texting with Wi Fi). We were greeted by Randy shortly after our arrival and when he realized we were out of fire starters he remedied that in no time. As for the owners Lana and Nathan you could not ask for more prompt attentiveness. I need to mention that our security deposit has already been processed and we just returned home yesterday. And what a surprise to find that we are going to receive an unsolicited refund for leaving a night early to avoid an impending storm. All that having been said I am probably shooting myself in the foot because we will definitely be coming back and hope to be able to find our desired dates free.

Once again thank you Lana and Nathan.

We had an amazing time. The cabin was fully stocked (which we didn't expect) with everything that we would need. The kids loved the fact that they could play in the snow right outside the backyard. We are definitely looking forward to our next vacation there!
