The charming, nearly 100 year old Cottage is located within blocks of beautiful, historic Downtown Waynesville. Nestled near the Great Smoky Mountain range and the Blue Ridge Parkway, Waynesville is rich with history, charm, fabulous shopping and restaurant venues... all within walking distance of The Cottage.
For those with an adventuresome spirit looking for a day trip, there are miles and miles of hiking trails of various difficulty, the most visited National Park... the Great Smoky Mountains... at your door step, and the fabulous Biltmore Estate in Asheville, NC (30 minutes away),
We moved to the mountains from the South Carolina coast in 1998. While I've been a financial advisor for nearly 30 years, our move allowed Jeannie to pursue a dream of opening a small business... The Jeweler's Workbench... in downtown Waynesville. After a successful 10 year run, she has recently sold her gallery and is now enjoying the 'retirement lifestyle.'
When purchasing our residence several years ago, we discovered that we had a 'hidden gem' located at the back of our property ... a small cottage in total disrepair... awaiting a facelift. After several years of constant attention, our Cottage has now been transformed into a charming get-away for all to enjoy.
The Owner purchased this cottage in 2005
We started vacationing in the area in the early nineties and immediately fell in love with the mountains, the people and the opportunities for a better quality of life. We finally decided it would be less costly to simply move to the Waynesville area... considering we were vacationing in the area 3 to 4 times a year!
While The Cottage has maintained its classic style and appeal, the property offers guests all of the modern conveniences and comforts of home.
We enjoyed our stay at The Cottage, with all the little touches…wine, fruit and Sadie especially like her water and food dishes a greatly appreciated the doggie treats.
The distance from the cottage to the town was another plus! We hope to make it back and would love to stay at The Cottage again. Thanks so Much :-)
This historic cottage has been lovingly restored to pristine condition and is well equipped and clean. The hosts are communicative, helpful and thoughtful. Tom made us feel welcome and was available to answer any questions or offer recommendations for restaurant and shops, we felt like locals because we could walk to town only two blocks away. My husband and I would happily return to this cozy and bright cottage.
What an adorable little spot! It has all the charm of an old cottage but clean as a whistle. They had everything we needed including a hair dryer and even a space heater in the bathroom to keep you nice and warm after a shower. Close to everything and Tom was an awesome host. We had a great stay! Thank you!!
My husband and I rented The Cottage for an anniversary trip from Nov. 11-13th. It is a perfectly charming place. The location is fantastic and we were able to walk to the coffee shop, restaurants and stores on Main St. The Cottage is cozy and comfortable, clean and welcoming. We have already discussed making this an annual trip and staying longer.
This is a beautiful little cottage! Very, very clean and everything seemed new! The host, Tom, was very friendly and the neighborhood very quiet. We especially enjoyed the convenience of being able to walk downtown in the evening to dinner and the brew pubs!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Cottage. Tom was very friendly and easy to deal with. The cottage is sparkling clean and very well equipped. It is comfortable and has a lovely courtyard. The location is perfect. You can easily walk to quaint and lovely downtown Waynesville. We would not hesitate to stay here again.
I stayed in The Cottage for three nights at the end of October and had a wonderful experience. Tom and Jeannie were available for anything I needed. The place is spotless and really feels like a home away from home! Such a quaint little cottage with hardwood floors, lots of windows and a super functional kitchen! And I loved the little private courtyard out back. Best of all was the convenience of only a 2 block walk to Main Street with all its fun shops and restaurants. I hope to visit again soon! Thanks Tom and Jeannie for being such gracious hosts!!!
