About the property

1 Bedroom King Bed with Queen Size Sleeper Sofa and True Woods View

Recently I asked the Resort Owners Board about the musty smell issue. I know that extensive landscaping has been done around the buildings to keep water away which is the source of musty smell. That is water getting into the crawl space under the buildings. What they told me was that in addition to landscaping, ducting has been added to the crawl spaces as well as clearing vents that have been closed by overgrowing vegetation. So why still a musty smell I asked? Well it was a very wet summer I was told. In addition to these efforts I have installed a Dehumidifier and Air Purifier in the Condo. I am happy to report that the musty smell is gone. Please use these appliances if you should have any air quality issues. Please also let me know so that I can bring this issue to the Board if this musty smell issue should persist.

This is a 1 Bedroom 1 Bath King suitable for the Handicapped. Entry door is 36 inches and Bathroom Door is 29 and 1/2 inches. It is connected to a Recreation Center which includes Indoor Pool, Hot Tub, Sauna, Fitness Center, Game Room and lounge area with Computers for Internet access. The Recreation Center is open 24/7 and is reserved for adults after 10 p.m. Outdoor Pool and Picnic Area are just outside the door. For boat enthusiasts there is extra parking for boat trailers.

Pets are not allowed at the Resort, but there is an excellent kennel nearby in Egg Harbor. Contact Door County Kennels in the 920 area code. I cannot list the phone number on this site.

Good

  • 4 of 5

We usually stay at the Alpine (which is like camping) so it was nice to have a comfortable king size bed, large flat screen TV, DVD player and internet. Only issue was the musty smell. The area is quite wooded - not a lot of sun - so maybe a dehumidifier would be good.

Convenient location to Egg Harbor

  • 3 of 5

Pervasive musty smell on entering the unit-possibly a mold issue. Otherwise- unit was clean, quiet, comfortable. We're without water for several hours due to maintenance.

Landmark rental Door County Wisconsin

  • 2 of 5

The setting is nice but the facility needs updated. Our room smelled terrible, musty odor and it was outdated. The dining and bar area seemed like a Denny's with bar stools. The patio was creepy with spider webs, etc and not usable. Would not return and felt we greatly overpaid!

Condo has a strong musty smell, very disappointed.

  • 2 of 5

I recently stayed at this condo @ Landmark Resort. I was not pleased with the unit. I contacted the owner and let him know that the sink in bathroom was leaking. He did have this taken care of by maintenance. When I spoke with him the next day to tell him it was taken care of, I mentioned the strong musty smell in his unit. He did not say a word and did not seemed surprised by this. As soon as you open the door you can smell it. The first night we left all the windows open hoping to air the place out. It did not help and we had to close them due to weather . We enjoyed the area however, we were very disappointed with this unit. I would not recommend it to anyone.

Owner's Response: I appreciate the guest calling me to let me know of the problems they found at the Condo. I cannot remedy the problem if I am not aware of it. The sink was repaired I believe that evening. I called that evening but was unable to reach the guest and left a message. When the guest called in the morning I was relieved that the sink problem was taken care of. I did contact Housekeeping regarding the musty smell. I was told the musty smell was the result of recent heavy rains and would dissipate as the area dries. Unfortunately the guest had already checked out by the time I received this information. In no way was this ignored. Recently I asked the Resort Owners Board about the musty smell issue. Great week in Door County

  • 5 of 5

We truly enjoyed our week at this condo. It was well equipped, clean and comfortable. Even tho the Landmark is a large resort, the condo buildings are spaced far enough apart with wooded areas all around, it seemed very private.

The bed and living room furniture were very comfortable and we liked having the restaurant on site if we didn't want to go out.
