About Hal Franklin

I am a friendly, family loving father residing in Tioga,Texas. I lived in Pagosa and ran a hardware store there many years ago. I have 2 children and 8 grandchildren.

Why Hal Franklin chose Pagosa Springs

I own this property because I enjoy sharing time with my family here. The family also come separately with their own friends and family as well. The family friendly atmosphere and the activities keep us busy during our visits. Winters and Summers are both just as amazing!

What makes this house unique

I truly love being able to sit on the back deck and watch the sunset mirror off the beautiful lake, the ducks constantly swim by so to grab a few bites of bread as they flutter and flap their wings. This is probably one of the most calm and peaceful places to visit. You will love the morning walks/runs around the lake, its peaceful no matter what time of year. We hope you enjoy your stay!

Relaxing family friendly home

  • 5 of 5

The view is absolutely gorgeous, and it can be seen from the entire home, whether inside or out! My parents said it was the best home I've found to date. The kids loved the playing area by the lake and the paddle boats. We weren't very blessed with many fish but nonetheless, fishing on the lake was awesome! Definitely recommend.

Great place to stay, super affordable for the size and location!

  • 5 of 5

We really loved the house, it's beautiful with lots of space and all the basic necessities were provided. The pictures really don't do it justice. Honestly, can't beat the price considering the size and location. Great proximity to everything in town.

The only negative for us, is we wish the listing for the house would have clearly stated pricing for the fishing and rec center. We thought fishing was free and included, but found out it would've been $165.00 for the 5 of us to fish for the week. That's too expensive for our tastes. Just be aware the available amenities (fishing and rec center) are not free and not very affordable for some.

No big deal, plenty of other cheap or free activities to do in the area.

The WIFI worked and was really nice for the kids when we had down time.

Everything was clean and the house seems well taken care of.

Would definitely recommend for big families.

Most importantly, our dog was welcome!

Good place for a vacation

  • 4 of 5

There was plenty of room for all of us. The kitchen was fantastic. Loved the openness of the dining and living room. The weather turned warm the week we were there so we had to use all the window fans available and some of the screens did not keep the bugs out. I loved having three bathrooms but wish there was at least two showers. The washer didn't work the whole time we were there so we had to run to the laundromat several times during the week. My family loved access to the paddle boat and canoe. My brother and his family were staying across the lake so we would canoe back and forth. It was appreciated that there were life jackets available. Loved the porch that went around the house. Gave us plenty of room to gather outdoors for dinner. The house is situated on a small peninsula so we had a view of the water from the back and front of the house. Very pretty area. We saw geese and deer every day. Would stay there again.
