Overview

About the property

2 bedroom, 2.5 baths, sleeps 4 to 6

We fell in love with our light and airy condo when we were searching for a second home in the happening town Ketchum. How do we love our condo? Well, let us count the ways! First, we love the layout of the space, which was remodeled in 2012. The south-facing, open-plan upstairs living area has amazing light throughout the day thanks to cathedral ceilings and tons of windows! Second, we love the River Run location: Downtown Ketchum is only five blocks away, the bus stop for the River Run gondola a mere block and a half, and the bike path just two blocks. Third, we love that our condo doesn't feel or look at all like a run-of-the-mill condo. Our condo complex is unique in that it comprises just three duplex units, each with two-story condos.

The living room has three comfy chairs and a sofa bed, making it the perfect setting to snooze, read quietly, or simply gaze out at the lovely east side of Baldy. Or, you can watch Direct TV on the 54-inch, flat screen HD TV. Netflix is available, as is wi-fi. The red cupboard contains games and books, and, should you play Scrabble, there’s a huge dictionary from which you can check the legitimacy of that word you just made up.

Bridging the space between the living room and kitchen is the dining area with a huge, eight-seat table with comfortable wicker chairs – perfect for games or when you just want to linger over a glass of wine and discuss the fun you had that day.

The large kitchen has a lot of counter space, and features a five-ring gas stove, large fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, Cuisinart food processor, electric water kettle, toaster, teapot, cutting boards and knives, and a complete dinner service and saucepan set. The drawers and cupboards contain all the gadgets you might need for cooking and baking. Choose from a selection of teas, along with creamer, sweetener, and honey. You can also use the sugar, spices, and condiments that are in the cupboard and fridge.

In between the dining area and kitchen is the powder room. Oh, and in case you’re wondering, the step ladder goes to our private, lock-up loft.

Downstairs the master bedroom is cozy with a king bed, bedside tables, a small cupboard, and a chair and ottoman, the ideal setting for meditation and quiet time. However, if you want to watch TV, you can do so on the 42” flat-screen. Stash all your stuff in the large closet or in the dresser. Even with the curtains open, you’ll still have lots of privacy because outside is a stand of aspens, which, when in full leaf, offer plenty of cover from the surrounding dwellings. The mostly-marble bathroom has a toilet, a single vanity, and a soothing rain shower – just what you need after a hard day on the ski slopes or hiking and biking trails. Soap, shampoo, and conditioner are provided.

The guest bedroom, with its three windows, southerly aspect, and turquoise-and-red color scheme is bright and cheerful. There are two twin beds, two dressers, two chairs, a large closet, a table, and a 42” flat-screen TV. The bedroom is also backed by aspen trees. The marble-and-tile bathroom has a toilet, a spacious shower, and a single vanity. Soap, shampoo, and conditioner are provided.

Also downstairs you’ll find a front-loading washer and dryer, and a cupboard containing extra bed linen and towels. Laundry soap and dryer sheets are provided.

Outside the front door is a deck with a barbecue and a storage cupboard for your skis. In the bike storage you’ll find a lady’s road bike and a man’s single-speed mountain bike for you to cruise around town on or to venture further on the bike path. Nestled in the shade of aspens is a patio dining set. There is room for one or two cars in the parking area.

Our amazing organizer, Denise, is available for airport pickup, babysitting, shopping, and extra cleaning, all at your cost.

A Ketchum gem, wonderfully equipped by great owners!

  • 5 of 5

This beautiful condo is perfectly located and appointed for a Ketchum/Sun Valley vacation -- practically at the foot of Mount Baldy, a couple blocks from the Bike/Foot path, walking distance to downtown Ketchum, and a short excursion away from all the area gems, whether you're traveling in the summer or winter (not to mention the quiet, scenic neighborhood itself).

Beyond the spectacular and convenient location, we particularly enjoyed the condo's ambiance and serenity -- particularly the upstairs living room and kitchen, filled with light in a nice, open space. We were blown away with how well equipped the kitchen was -- you'll have everything you need for cooking great meals.

The condo was perfectly fit for our family of three (including one little one who loved having her own bedroom with an attached bathroom/shower and TV).

While here, we enjoyed a hike of Baldy and an excursion to Galena lodge for hiking, a day of bike rentals and a trip to Hulen Meadows just north of Ketchum, shopping downtown, visits with family in Elkhorn, and enjoyed great restaurants: Warfield Distillery (try the deck), Smokey Mountain Pizza, and, for a fun, casual lunch of burgers and oversized beers, Grumpy's.

If you're a YMCA member, the local Y (amazing facility with a great indoor pool and kids' area) will give you 5 free visits! That's a big plus. And they offer babysitting for $8/2 hours.

Kim and Rob couldn't have been more accommodating. They were quickly responsive to any questions and checked in by text at appropriate intervals. We feel like we know Kim just a little bit through her beautiful art displayed in the house. And Rob's entries in the guestbook are extremely helpful.

We'll be back! (Saying something -- because we have part time access to a family condo in Elkhorn.) And we'll send friends!

Wonderful condo minutes from River Run lodge

  • 4 of 5

This is a charming, we'll equipped condo in a great neighborhood very close to town and River Run lodge. We loved the artwork on the walls created by the owner herself. You can see some of her works at the Hailey airport too. Thank you Kim and Rob. We really loved staying at your place! Mike and Paula, Sarasota, FL

Beautifully appointed!

  • 5 of 5

This condo is so lovely with stylish yet comfortable furniture. The kitchen is spacious and has all you need to cook and serve a meal. The condo is very clean, well-cared-for and in a great location, close to downtown and the Sun Valley Resort. A special feature is Kim's art photography that decorates the walls. (I hear she sells it!) We have stayed in numerous condos in Ketchum over the years of going there and this, by far, is the nicest one.

This time, we were there in early July when the flowers throughout the area are stunning. Some of us attended the Sun Valley Writer's Conference, an exceptional annual event, and others rode bicycles on the trails and up to Galena summit. We had a great meal one night at Ketchum Grill, where the locals go. Our other favorites are Enoteca and Vintage. You usually need to make reservations well in advance for any of them.
