Feel the charm and cozyness of being in this 1400 sq ft cabin. It has a great room with lots of seating where you can enjoy a crackling fire that burns firewood the old fashion way, or sit outside around the fire pit having smores, telling stories and singing songs. There are 3 bedrooms, master with king bed, 2nd bdrm with queen bed and 3rd bdrm has a queen bed, a 2nd queen bed with an extra long twin bunk bed on top and a pack n play for the baby. There's also a queen size sleeper sofa in the family room. We have a fully equipped kitchen, dining table that seats 10 easily. Washer & dryer. Full deck in front of cabin with a picnic table, lots of seating, BBQ and great views of lake and mountains! Kids love the hammock swing while adults prefer the bench swing. Plenty of parking. Great fishing at the canal is a 5 min walk or 1 mile to Beacon Marina where you can rent a boat. Grand Lake Village is 5 miles north on Hwy 34..
We were blessed in May 2012 to achieve our dream of owning a cabin in the Grand Lake area. We moved to Denver in 1982 with our 2 boys and discovered the Grand Lake area in 1984. We love exploring Colorado and it's beautiful mountains!
The Owner purchased this cabin in 2012
We looked at many properties but this cabin gave us the appeal of feeling we were in the mountains. We also loved the cozyness of the great room with a wood burning fireplace while enjoying the lake and mountain views. It just felt great!
From the breathtaking view of the lake on the deck (or the living room which is just as amazing), to the spacious and well stocked lovely cabin, this was truly the perfect long weekend escape for relaxation. Loved the peace and quiet and lounging by the fire each night. Your home is amazing Michele, thanks for sharing it with us! We look forward to visiting again soon!
I stayed here with my family for a weekend and we absolutely loved it. The view from the deck is amazing. We enjoyed roasting smores by the fire and the kids had fun playing in the swing. There was plenty of room for all of us and there were even toys and games for us to play. Great place! The communication with the owner was great as well. She provided a detailed email before the visit with all of the information we needed.
My family and sister-in-law's family stayed here for a week. The property is warm and welcoming and very comfortable for 4 adults and 4 children. Communication with owner Michele was great.
We loved the beautiful view. Plenty of parking. The fire pit was nice, we made s'mores one night. Was rainy and colder on another night so had a nice roaring fire in the fireplace in the living room.
we highly recommend this home!
We enjoyed our stay here very much. The home is very comfortable and has everything you could need. The view from the deck is amazing and the home owners were so easy to work with. We loved it!
Our stay here was great! The cabin is in a great location close to fishing and the lake. It was stock much better than I would have expected. We had six adults and one child and there was more than enough room for all of us. The deck is a perfect size for a bbq and the view is beautiful. I will be going back!
From the moment we walked in we knew we chose the right property for our long winter weekend. The house feels like home and has every possible item you could ask for - plus some. From condiments to cooking oil, spices to oatmeal, dish soap to dishwasher detergent, the kitchen was extremely well supplied. The bathrooms had hair conditioner, lotion, shampoo, and soap as well as hand soap. I've never rented a home so well stocked. It very comfortably fit our group of 9. The beds were comfortable and there was plenty of room for lounging. We brought many of our own games but there was a closet full of them as well. Many may consider Grand Lake a summer destination but I would go back in a heart beat in the winter. We went full moon cross country skiing at the local nordic center/golf course where we also went tubing and snowshoeing (which was all included in our day ticket and rentals pass). We went on some great hikes around the house, including down to the lake. Did you know the depth of the ice on the frozen lake is at least 6 feet deep? And of course, a walk through the town of Grand Lake - such a cute mountain town. It was a perfect weekend.
Trailridge RD through Rocky Mountain Nat'l Park (Hwy 34) is the highest continuous paved road in the United States, taking you up and over timberline with breath taking views. The western entrance is at Grand Lake and the eastern entrance is at Estes Park. This road is open from Memorial weekend through the beginning of Fall when the snow begins to fall. Hwy 34 is only open for 10 miles into the park during the winter months. Rocky Mountain Nat'l Park is a big draw for wildlife viewing of elk and moose and also provides many hiking trails.
Devil's Thumb Ranch/Resort in Tabernash (30 min), has a wonderful health/beauty spa and great cross country skiing. Zipline in summer months.
Hot Sulphur Springs (25 min), provides hot springs.
Granby Ranch (20 min) closest mountain skiing.
Winter Park Resort(40 min), complete range of skiing opportunities, tubing, shops and restaurants.
