About Elizabeth Garfield
I moved to Seattle from Massachusetts in 1979 because I fell in love with Seattle at Gasworks park. There is no place in the world like it.
Elizabeth Garfield purchased this Apartment in 1998
Why Elizabeth Garfield chose University District
This property is a great location with excellent public transportation access. It is close to the freeway. There are many green areas to walk to and through. There are several movie theaters, playhouses, bookstores, grocery shops and clothing stores nearby. A hardware store too.
What makes this Apartment unique
The property is beautifully landscaped. It calms you the minute you set foot in it.

We stayed at Elizabeth's U-district VRBO June 30 through July 4, 2017 and we had a wonderful experience! Elizabeth greeted us with delicious baked cookies and went out of her way to accommodate storing our tandem bicycle in her secure garage. The apartment was cozy, quiet and comfortable and we loved the close proximity to the UW Campus and walking through the residential neighborhood. We enjoyed our evenings sitting out on the private front yard among the canopy of trees watching the birds and all the neighbors walk on by. Elizabeth was flexible with the parking and allowed us to use her driveway to park our truck. The VRBO was perfectly situated for our needs and we felt like we were in a home away from home. If our travels take us back to the Seattle area, we will stay here again. Thanks for everything, Elizabeth!

Nice and cozy!
Elizabeth a great hostess- very gracious and kind. You are unlikely to need anything for your stay other than what she has provided. If you are interested in watching tv- I would suggest you bring a laptop or tablet- there is wifi but no television. Bed is oh so comfortable!
Perfect affordable summer place
I loved this place. This place was within 3 miles from my work. Elizabeth takes care of all the things you probably need for a comfortable stay. I stayed there for about 3 months with comfort and peace. I definitely recommend this place to my family and friends.
Delightful, comfortable, convenient
I had a wonderful time - this is indeed a serene apartment! It's spacious, clean, comfortable, and well equipped. Elizabeth was very welcoming, and she provided a plate of delicious lemon cookies on my arrival. I was doing research at the UW, which is less than a mile away, a lovely walk along residential streets. There are grocery stores in walking distance (a Safeway 8 blocks away) and everything else the U district has to offer. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!
The place was exactly what we had expected. Elizabeth was very accommodating and her cookies were delicious! Two negatives were the lack of TV and the amount of spiders we had to kill during our stay.
I do my best to rid the space of spiders but it is impossible to keep them away. They thrive in Seattle.
There is no TV since I don't own one myself.
Wifi connection is good.
Overall our stay was very good. There was a small mishap with the parking pass being taken by the previous guest but that was quickly sorted. We stayed over the 4th of July and it was quite noisey in the neighbourhood, of course this is no fault of the host though. The apartment is bigger than the pictures show and gas everything you need. Would stay again.
This is a good walking neighborhood with easy access to the city bus line. The UW is a 10 minute walk south. There is high end shopping and a wide variety of restaurants and services at the U Village due east down the hill. Take the stairway that is NE 52nd St. You will cross the Burke Gilman Trail which used to be a railway. It is now a bike path that runs from the top of Lake Washington all the way to Ballard. To the west there are more funky boutiques, a Goodwill, several consignment stores, and ethnic restaurants to the west on University Way otherwise known as The Ave. Get great pizza at Pagliacci's. For Indian food, there is the Jewel of India or Cedars. Vegan? Got to Chaco Canyon on NE 50th St and 12th Ave NE. Do not miss the variety of bookstores on The Ave as well as coffee shops. The closest coffee shop is north on Ravenna Boulevard called Boulevard Grocery between 20th and 21st NE further north on 20th, walk on a bridge over a ravine through a residential neighborhood to find Third Place Books. Within the bookstore to the back is a great Greek restaurant called Vios and a pub downstairs called the Third Place. Follow Ravenna Boulevard west for 2 miles and you will come to Green Lake, Seattle's favorite park. You can rent paddleboats there or walk the 3.3 mile perimeter and birdwatch or people watch.
