Why Eddie and Carla Hankla chose Danville
This property was originally an inn on the old Wilderness Trail through central KY. It was built at some point in the late 1700's and every effort was made to keep as much intact as possible while updating the home with all the modern conveniences.
What makes this House unique
Peace and serenity are the key words used to describe a stay at the Stonehouse. The master bedroom has the feel of a treehouse! Window walls all around that look out over the back lawn and are on a level with the treetops. The wood floors and materials from the original exterior walls have been used as flooring and ceiling beams throughout the addition.

Central for bourbon tasting.
The property was a great location for tasting at local distilleries. We had several meals nearby that were very tasty.

An archeological museum
Very interesting property restored horse stable we high quality appliances. Everyone should have the experience of staying here once, but very poor interior lighting in spite of the significant number of windows. Very glad we were there when the sun was out with long hours of sunlight. Would not recommend for early spring or fall.
Tranquility and History
We had a great time in Danville and this was a perfect home base. We were close to everything for the weekend activities as well having a unique place for the Graduation Reception. Could not have worked out better
Thanks for choosing to stay with us during a very special weekend. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay and would love to have you back with us any time!
We loved our ole Kentucky home! Everything was perfect. A thoughtful, artful, peaceful and relaxing environment! We had everything we could possibly need or want! We enjoyed the 12 or so young bulls and sweet grey boy kitty that would come to the door for his evening meal and some affection! Location? What a spot! Beautiful and just 45 minutes to Lexington and close by stores in town. Eddie and Carla, we'll be back! Thank you. We couldn't be happier.
There are so many great things to do and see in the Danville area. We are within driving distance of a lot of the best sites in Central Kentucky. Centre College is just a few minutes drive away, Herrington Lake and it's marinas are close by, and there are tours of the area nearly year round. The Bourbon Trail tour leaves from Harrodsburg, a 15 minute drive, and Fort Herrod is always a nice way to see the history of early KY life. Shaker Village is a must for anyone who wants to experience a great meal and see how the Shakers lived. Every Summer Danville is host to the Great American Brass Band Festival and the KY State BBQ Festival. There is certainly no shortage of things to do!
Lexington is about a 40 minute drive from the house, so if you want to experience some night life, downtown is great for clubs and fine dining.
