Remember the simple pleasures of walking barefoot on a wide, crystal-white sand shoreline and floating carefree in the warm, tranquil gulf water, or reclining in your lounger while listening to the seagulls and watching the dolphins glide by just off-shore ? After toasting an amazing crimson sunset, the gathered wood is coaxed into a welcoming roaring bonfire, that invites you to roast marshmallows, chill and prepare your expectations for another great day in the morning.

If you are dreaming of again enjoying those endless lazy days relaxing on an expansive, uncrowded, pristine sugar-white sand beach, then you are dreaming of a Moonshadow vacation !

Moonshadow is a freshly remodeled, 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom 'jewel-box' of a gulf-front vacation house, with all the amenities you expect, and deserve, to fulfill your beach get-away dream.

The kitchen is all new, from the high-end stainless appliances to the solid surface counters and cherry cabinets. All three bedrooms have brand-new luxurious king bedding and flat-panel tvs with blu-ray dvd players. En suite bathrooms adjoin two master bedrooms, and the third bedroom shares the hall guest bath.

The spacious family room features beautiful water-front vistas, as well as a 60 inch plasma tv, when you are in the movie-watching or gaming mode !

Every room in the house has ceiling fans, including the comfortable screened porch/outdoor dining room.

When you venture outside, the gas bbq is ready to grill your meal to perfection, while you lounge in the nearby hammock.

There is carport parking under the house, as well as generous space to store your watercraft, etc. In front. There is a large storage room, containing chairs, 'floaties' and other toys to assure that you fully enjoy the beach, as well as a cart to carry your possessions to the welcoming white sands.

Upon your return, there is a convenient, private outdoor shower to rinse off before you go inside.

If you still want to 'catch some rays', there is a large 8' x 30' deck off the family room and/or screened porch, also ideal for just 'vegging'.

We are Gulf-coast natives, who grew up in this area, have traveled, lived and worked all over the country, and have had the good-sense and good-fortune to have returned to this paradise.

We have experienced the beach communities on both coasts, and know with confidence that none compare to the special, unspoiled gem here at Cape San Blas.

Our 6th annual reunion in Cape San Blas

This was our first year on this part of Cape San Blas. Previously we stayed at the north end where it is beautiful but more crowded. The house was beautiful and clean. We had plenty of room and the porches had wonderful views of the gulf through the pine trees. Just a perfect setting.The dogs even had their own towels for the beach. We really hated to leave. We hope to return next year.

How to relax for a week

Rent Moonshadow. Put on your beach attire. Walk to the beach. Sun. Swim. Shell. Rinse. Eat. Sleep. Repeat.

The house is very comfortable with the bedrooms situated a suitably private distance apart. All have king beds and two have en suite full baths. The rest of the house is comfortably appointed with plenty of indoor and outside seating options. Dog friendly house AND beach!

The town of Port Saint Joe is nearby with all amenities. Appalachicola is 23 miles away if you feel you must explore. And there are state parks worth visiting especially St George Island which is just cool.

Cell phone service was sketchy all over but there is WiFi at the house. Owner and property manager were responsive to the couple of issues that came up. All in all, we had a comfortable and relaxing stay and will consider renting Moonshadow again.

Nice looking house. Walking distance to beach, near many attractions. We rented bikes, went boating, horseback riding and ate at some fun restaurants.

The Moonshadow

Nice open floor plan, clean, updated, kitchen well stocked, comfortable deck, tucked away and great beach walking.

Wifi not so good (maybe stronger router) but we weren't sure if hurricane Irma had a hand in it.

Enjoyed watching the tree frogs at night by stairway. Hose handy for spraying dogs after beach walks.

Eating at Joe Mammas, Provisions, Krazyfish and Tamaras Cafe.

Owner's Response: We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay. As we have never previously had a comment about WIFI, we inquired with Mediacom customer service, who confirmed that the regional system performance was impacted by Hurricane Irma's visit, but is quickly returning to normal.
