From the 2nd/top floor you have a much better view AND you are not at eye level while enjoying a glass of wine with every person walking by on the Strand. You have all of the people-watching benefits and none of the drawbacks! Conveniently close to beach showers to was that sand off your self and beach toys!

Welcome to Villa Mia our home-away-from home at the beach. This is a comfy and homey 2nd story "cottage" unit (walk up to 2nd level with a landing half way) North Coast Village "A" building oasis, directly at the corner of the Strand and Breakwater Way (Google it to get a "feel" for the location). Being on the 2nd story lets you be at the heart of the beach action and people watch until your hearts content! Let the pounding of the surf lull you to sleep.

Please note, as this unit is on the second floor and it is a "cottage" unit, there are stairs to climb to get to the unit as well as a couple of up and down transitions from the parking garage. There is no elevator. Our other two units both have elevator access.

Why David Keshavjee chose Oceanside

You cant get much closer to the beach! If you like to people watch (but not be too close-as with the ground floor units), then this is your condo. The Strand is Oceanside's equivalent of a boardwalk that accommodates both pedestrian and vehicular (one-way only) traffic. In the summer it can be packed with people walking, cruising in their cars or on 4-person surrey-top rental bikes or it can be relatively empty as the sun goes down and the beach crowds go home. In the off-season it is traveled much less frequently, mostly by the occasional vehicular tourist and the locals who live along the Strand. MAINLY, THOUGH, THE VIEWS OF THE BEACH AND THE PIER ARE UNPARALLELED!

Totally enjoyed our stay here!!

I have always wanted to stay right on the strand. I was not disappointed!! We loved the condo. Everything that we needed was provided. The beds were very comfortable. It was a little difficult to locate the entrance at first but after that we were good. Definitely not for someone that has difficulty with stairs but we loved it. I hope we can come back again!!!

Clean, close to the beach, owners were great to work with.

We loved this little place across from the beach. The pictures show exactly what you get. The condo was equipped with everything needed. We felt safe as there was 24 hour security. The parking garage was clean and well lit. We loved the pool and hot tub, they were clean and quiet . The only draw back to the location was the street noise. It was not an issue for us but it might bother some people. Most of the noise came from the daily garbage pick-up just across the one-way street in front of our condo. We actually looked forward to the daily pickup because we were grateful for clean beaches and bathrooms but mostly because our little ones LOVED watching the garbage trucks and the drivers always waved to them! At night the beach and street were quiet.

I would not recommend this location for someone who has difficulty with stairs as there are several up and down sets of 4-6 stairs from parking garage to unit. Our unit was on the second floor which was difficult with three little ones, one who was not walking, but we would choose this unit again for the secure feeling of not being on the street level. Overall, I would highly recommend this unit for cleanliness , value, and the ease of communicating with the owner. You can tell the owners really care about their unit and seeing that renters are comfortable and happy. A great place to stay.

Enjoyed being close to the beach

The place had all the amenities and was as described in the rental listing. We didn't realize how much we missed not having air conditioning. If this place at A/C, it would score a 5. We had a great time nonetheless.

A beautiful on the beach place!

This was our first time in this unit, although we have stayed at other units in previous years in this complex. We loved the location and ease of being *this close* to the beach. It makes it super easy to have a nice relaxing vacation with kids - you can get to the beach and set up, still see your stuff if you have to run up to do lunches or what have you. There were a couple minor issues that we noticed when checking in, but those were handled quickly by the owners. You can really tell the care that they have in making your stay be a great one. The kitchen is gorgeous and so spacious!

The gate to the unit is right next to the stairs which makes for quick and easy unloading/loading and access to the beach. And the entrance to the garage is just around the corner. There are ample beach chairs and a couple nice larger boogie boards, so you could forgo bringing yours and be well pleased with these! There was also a small beach umbrella for shade.

We would have liked to have more dresser/drawer space in the bedrooms for unpacking our things and to have a set of steak knives for when we did grill; which are really the only negatives we had with this unit. All in all, I would definitely recommend this unit to others and look forward to coming back again!

Convenient and good location

My family and I stood there from July 8th through 14th. My wife, 6 month old, 7 year old, 12 year old and I stayed there. It was clean, upgraded kitchen, nice welcoming decor and big enough for all of us. It's a second floor unit and yes the public restroom was just outside the balcony. People watching was alot of fun for us and it was not loud. You still have good views to the left and right which was also nice. The condo had everything we needed such as plates, pots, pans, forks, knives, stove, fridge, cable tv, wifi etc. No A/C but the off shore breeze and fans kept the condo cool and comfortable. It also had beach towels, beach chairs, boogie boards and a beach umbrella. We used our own ezup at the beach to fit the whole family for shade. The patio had a small grill similar to a portable camping/ tailgate grill that takes a 1lb propane tank. There is some wear and tear due to the salt in the air from the beach and it being a rental but nothing major. Due to being close to the strand you will hear the trash trucks every other early morning picking up the trash from the public restrooms. You will also sometimes get those who drive by with the car music blasting throughout out the day but that's what happens when your so close to the beach. The location was great, very short walk to the beach and pier. The condo is part of North Coast Village and you can use their pools and amneties. The washer and dryer was in the parking lot by the smaller pool in our complex. It costs about $1.50 for washer and $1 for dryer and takes quarters only. We bought most of our food items from Walmart in Carlsbad. Our only suggestion are better bed tops or beds because we sank a lil too much and didn't sleep too well the first couple nights. Also the blinds in the master bedroom need to be fixed properly or replaced because some did fall down. I would also suggest a black out curtain in the master bedroom because the sun does come through blinds if you want to sleep in and it's harder with blinds falling. Also two twin or bunk beds in the other bedroom. But yes we would stay there again but the bed tops would need to be replaced, blinds fixed or replaced and blacked out somehow. Also there was no piping for the sand. If you do your research it starts in May and is supposed to end by June but like most big construction projects they go over a week or 2. Our stock 2015 Chevy Surburban LTZ barley fit in the parking stall and structure by inches in length and height.

The property was beautiful and very clean.

Even thought it was beautiful and very clean, the security was disappointing. I had 3 young children with me and I did not feel comfortable having them there.
