Towels / linen are included and replenished on a weekly basis. Free tea / coffee is supplied in the kitchen as well as very fast internet connection.

Housed in a handsome Victorian villa which is on Cardiff's most prestigious road. This highly sought after location is adjacent to Pontcanna fields in the heart of this conservation area.

Many original unique features, servants bells (servants not included), Victorian tiling, sash windows, fireplaces, 14ft high ceilings plus all the mods cons you would come to expect, microwave, TV, DVD, cooker, fridge, washing machine, ironing, central heating, high speed internet etc.

Front bedroom is 18x16ft, rear bedroom is 22x13ft with 10ft high ceilings. Dining room / lounge is 14x15ft plus spacious kitchen and bathroom.

The Celtic Manor Ryder Cup 2010 golf course is approx a 15minute drive away.

To sum up 'The apartment is much bigger than anything you will find in an Hotel or B&B, it's so much more personal having a living area plus kitchen. Sleeping 4-6 people makes it extremely cost effective'

Cardiff History and now: Cardiff is a young and bustling capital city with great shopping and night life to match.

From Victorian tree-lined avenues to the glossy Bay area, there is something for everyone here. The famous Millennium Stadium is a ten minute stroll from the apartment or take a trip to the Bay to see the Millennium Centre and catch a musical or play, or just browse the shops in Mermaid Quay. You might also like to catch a water taxi to Victorian Penarth.

Cardiff has one of the best shopping centres in the UK and the new St Davids 2 Centre which opened in 2010 will bring John Lewis and a host of other prestigious retailers to the city. Night life is well catered for whatever your interests.

Cardiff is now well placed as a major sporting, musical and event location. 2010 the Ryder Cup is taking place only 15mins drive away.

Any breakage / damage must be notified to owner immediately.

No smoking anywhere on the property including the gardens.

About Owner

Lived and travelled all over the world - we came back to Cardiff in 1999. The property has been lovingly restored back to it's Victorian style - along with many original features

Why Owner chose Riverside

Simple - bigger than a B&B, less expensive (and larger) than any hotel suite you can find in Cardiff.

Ground floor location - it also has access to it's own small court yard area - as well as garden. Also includes washing facilities, clothes line, ironing board etc - a home from home. The reaction we get from everyone is wow - I didn't think it would be so large.

I also know Cardiff - where to go, what to see, how to get there and always happy to advise if you need anything.

We are flexible with check in / out times - as long as there are no same day bookings.

What makes this apartment unique

The location of Pontcanna cant be beaten. It's very close to the city centre - but small enough to feel like a village community. It is also the longest Victorian Road in the United Kingdom.

All the houses on Cathedral Road are unique perfect examples of Victorian architecture. This property contains many original features, the high ceilings, the 2ft skirting boards, the opriginal terrazzo flooring - as well as the servants bell system (servants not included)

We were let down by another property, I am so glad we were now as that meant we stayed here instead. Very spacious rooms, great location for everything, and had everything we needed.

Pontcanna is a lovely area - I could spend an entire afternoon looking at the architecture of some of them followed a lovely pint of real ale and some fantastic food at the Cricketers.

Very very good situated property

We (a German couple) had a very nice week with our two adult sons, staying in this very clean and charming appartment. Located about 15 min footwalk through the amazing Bute-Park, along the river Taff, to the city centre.

The owners are very nice and helpful people.

Very well equipped and located apartment

The property is very well equipped and the owners show none of the mean-spiritedness of some holiday lets by providing all of the basics like salt, pepper, soap, washing-up liquid, etc. The location is fantastic and there is plenty of space including a small garden. I stayed with my wife, 2 children and my mother and we were very comfortable and made to feel very welcome by the owner, Peter. I must also say that the property is VERY clean, not something I'd normally comment on, but it was so good in this regard as to merit a mention!

We'd happily stay at this apartment again.

Beautiful Cardiff apartment

As a family of 4 this apartment was perfect.

It was very easy to cycle or walk into the city centre along the Taff Trail and through the park. Peter and Jan were very obliging and gave us somewhere to store our bikes. We cycled from Merthyr to Cardiff along the Taff Trail which was a good 25 miles ride in glorious sunshine.

The area had everything and more - cafes, shops, and beautiful parks.

We would recommend this apartment for anyone wishing to visit Cardiff.

Beautiful Cardiff

We recently stayed at this property - where to start??? Location was brilliant as it is well within walking distance of Cardiff - we were there for the RWC games and cant recommend the property enough.

Cardiff is a beautiful city, quaint, historical & the people are all very friendly.

The owners are very obliging and accommodating - made our trip that much more special.

Would not hesitate staying there again and would highly recommend to others.

Perfect apartment: great location, wonderful hosts

The apartment is on the ground floor of a beautiful building, located a short walk from the centre of Cardiff, and with lovely restaurants and shops just down the street. The apartment had everything we needed for a great stay with our kids. Our hosts, Peter and Jan, could not have been more friendly and helpful. This is the second time we've stayed in the property, and would definitely stay again the next time we visit the city.

Pontcanna was named in the Sunday Times newspaper they rated Pontcanna as one of the hippest neighbourhoods in the country because it is the “most well-heeled bit of Cardiff.”

The unique Victorian, tree lined, conservation area of Pontcanna set in the heart of Cardiff, is the London equivalent of Chelsea.

Built around 1895 these very large 3 storey houses were originally built for all the various sea captains and coal barons that helped to build Cardiff.

The ‘village’ atmosphere of Pontcanna in unique in that within a 15 minute stroll you can be in the city centre or even in the tranquillity of the beautiful castle grounds or national museum. Pontcanna has a bespoke selection of locally run cafes, bistros, gastro pubs and one or two traditional pubs. It is also home to the famous Le Gallois and Cameo restaurants. Surrounding all of that you have the beautiful Llandaff fields leading up to the Cathedral.

Ideal for all sporting events - Millenium Stadium, Cardiff Arms park, Millenium Centre, SWALEC cricket stadium, concerts, events and exhibitions. All transport links are close by including air, rail & motorway

Golf: Lots of local Golf courses nearby, including the Celtic manor Golf resort - home to the 2011 Ryder Cup tournament

Ski: There are 2 local dry ski slopes, there is also the brand new white water rafting centre in Cardiff Bay
