This inviting two bedroom house on Santa Barbara's riviera is the perfect paradise retreat. The large rear deck has ocean and city views and is perfect for sunbathing, outdoor dining or just relaxing in the hot tub.
The interior is very warm and inviting with it's wood floors, comfortable furnishings, fireplace and cozy beds. The outdoor living space is what makes this house exceptional with it's great views of downtown Santa Barbara and the ocean.
A very functional and well stocked kitchen is perfect for cooking and entertaining while the outdoor grill and deck furniture make for great outdoor dining experiences.
The house comfortably sleeps four in the two bedrooms each which has a very comfortable pillow top queen bed. The bed in the master bedroom is also toped with a feather bed. Additional people can be accommodated in a pinch on the floor of the living room with the use of an Aero-bed that is available for your use.
There are many high-tech features with a built-in sound system throughout the house and the deck with individual room volume controls which you can connect to from your iPod, computer or using AirPlay or by plugging in directly. A surround sound home theater exists with BlueRay DVD as well as Cable TV and Apple TV with Netflix, Pandora and other services as well. This is all connected to a 46' LED TV added new in 2014.
As a guest you will have access to everything in the house as shown in the photos, plus exclusive use of the deck and the hot tub. The house is on a downhill slope with the two bedroom rental house on the upper level which is the street level. There are a few small steps up into the house from the walkway. I live on the lower level which I access down the driveway and around the rear of the house. There are no shared interior spaces or entries so you will have privacy.
This is a pet-friendly house that has a secure outdoor deck area. Dogs may be permitted with advance arrangements. No cats please. My beagle Dudley lives with me on the lower level and hangs out in the rear yard on the lower level. There is a staircase with a gate that separates the upper deck and lower rear yard.
There are laundry facilities in the house for your use.

GETTING AROUND:
The house is at the end of a cul-de-sac and is a very cute and quiet street on the lower riviera of Santa Barbara. There is parking easily available on the street and you will have space to park one car off-street in the driveway.

Getting around is easiest by cab (about $10-12 to downtown). This bus is available with about a 10 min walk.
I am a Santa Barbara native and have owned this house since 2001. I live on the property in the lower unit below the house with my beagle Dudley, but I am easy going and will remain as invisible to your stay as possible. You have total privacy in the house and there is no shared space between the units.

Brad's house overlooking the Santa Barbara coastline was perfect for my weekend trip with my boyfriend, dog, another couple, and their 7 month old baby. Upon arrival, we found a welcome gift of wine, pistachios, and pickled carrots (all local, all delicious) on the table with a note from Brad. It was a thoughtful gesture, and a great way to start the trip. Our dog loved the big fenced-in yard, and got along well with Brad's friendly beagle Dudley. Despite our somewhat large group (6 if you count the dog and baby) the house never felt crowded, and his spacious living room and large patio were great for relaxing with our friends. I wish we could have spent more time at the house, as we were in town for a wedding and did not have the chance to barbecue on the deck or lounge in the hot tub. I will definitely come back to this house next time I am in SB.
My husband and I stayed at Brad’s lovely home for 3 months early this year. In short: We loved it! The location is fantastic; close to downtown and the beaches, and about 20 minutes from the University. It’s on a quiet street with parking on the premises. The layout of the apartment is lovely and spacious, with light filtering beautifully through all the rooms; the kitchen is extremely well-provisioned (including spices!); and the deck is amazing! Brad himself is a great host – available and attentive but also “hands off” if that’s what you want. We have already made plans for another long-term stay next year, and are very much looking forward to it.
The owner was easy to work with. The view from the deck was truly amazing. That was definitely the highlight of this property. It was a while ago when we stayed, so perhaps the inside has changed, but it was rather dirty. It really needed a deep cleaning, layers of dust on every window ledge, cupboards, etc. The fridge was full of crumbs and general gunk, so I had to clean it upon arrival which is disappointing. It's just not as comfortable to stay in a property that presents itself this way.
Would recommend for comfort, good sound system, friendly host offering assistance when needed. We appreciated being able to bring the family dog for our Christmas holiday.
The owner of the home is great to work with, and if you're traveling with pets it's a perfect place to stay !
The house was located in a nice quiet neighborhood with beautifully kept homes and a million dollar view.
