I am a real estate broker, this is the first home I purchased and have fondly restored it over the years. I have lived in the NW for over 30 years and love to hike, garden, practice yoga and travel. This home is a part time residence for me, I live on a nearby island.
Joni Panciera purchased this bungalow in 1984
If you are interested in exploring Seattle this is a perfect home base to reach out from with easy access to downtown, UW, and near by businesses. Walk to the Woodland Park Zoo to the north or south down towards Lake Union, Gas Works Park and the Burke Gilman Trail.
I am told the original charm of this home makes it feel very welcoming. The radiant heat is cozy in the winter, and the screen doors allow the summer breezes to flow through. Walking distance to everything you might need: coffee, beer on tap, pizza, italian food, thai, vegetarian, organic ice cream, gelato....grocery store, movie theater....
Thank you for staying in my Wallingford home, I am so glad you enjoyed it. You are so right our neighborhood and driveway doesn't hold any large sized cars very well, I will make a point of letting folks know what to rent in the future. I am glad you made use of the easy public transportation. Best wishes!
We enjoyed a week-long stay in this lovely bungalow. Our main purpose was to see our adult children who live only a few blocks away, so it was ideal for us. Everything is just as described, within walking distance to restaurants and a QFC for groceries. Easy access to 5 for travel north, as we did on a few days while we were there. Laundry is on the premises, so we packed light and did laundry mid-week. It was cold and rainy while we were there, and we had been forewarned about the boiler, but we found out for ourselves just how long it took to heat the house. Fortunately, we were able to figure out how to re-program the thermostat so we were warm for the rest of our visit!
Joni, the owner and also a real estate agent, forgets nothing when appointing this house for short term guests. We actually stayed for six weeks and had everything we could have needed. The house was in mint condition, all paper goods supplied, everything one would need in the kitchen, bathroom or bedrooms. The basement tenants are a wonderful couple who accommodated us with ease sharing the driveway (a driveway is HUGE is Seattle). It is a cute house with a sweet backyard. It is also walking distance from 45th Street, which is Wallingford's trendy and cute food and shopping area -- you can walk to everything from great pizza to great Indian to great sushi and ice cream. Both a QFC grocery store and a Trader Joe's are very close, as well as bike rentals, and pretty much getting everywhere. We highly recommend this house for couples or families. The perfect six-week stay.
We really enjoyed our stay. The house is comfortable and has all you need. We ate breakfast outside one morning and it was lovely.
House was immaculate and had everything we needed. It reminded me of the house in which I grew up in the 50s.
Numerous restaurants and bars within walking distance and the bus stop for downtown only about 100 yards away. Nice landscaping
and surroundings quiet. A young couple live in entirely separate quarters downstairs and were extremely nice and accommodating.
Parking was not exactly "abundant" but always available. I would not recommend a Ford SuperDuty or Chevy Suburban for this area however.
We never met the owner but talked with her several time and she was extremely nice and helpful. All in all in was ideal for us.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Seattle and much of it was due to the wonderful accommodations at this bungalow. We were able to walk to the surrounding neighborhoods and took short trips into downtown and other nearby areas. The owner was very accommodating and friendly to work with in getting everything set up and ready for us. Would definitely stay here again.
Stayed here for three nights with my parents. Although the house is near a busy street, it's very quiet and we slept soundly (beds and linens were great too). The house is very close to shops, restaurants, cafes, etc. We could have easily spent our days just within the neighborhood. Home is very comfortable, front porch was a great place for us to sit and have coffee. Joni was available if we needed her. We parked on the street in front of the house each day - never had a problem getting a spot. Would definitely stay here again!
Take a bus downtown to the Aquarium or Pike Place Market or walk to the Woodland Park Zoo. A short drive or bike ride to Green Lake for a kayak or paddle boat ride, ice cream, or a 2.8 mile roller blade around. Just a stone's throw away from Fremont and all the amenities that Wallingford has to offer. It is just minutes to public transportation, Lake Union, Gas Works Park, Burke Gillman Trail, Downtown Seattle, University of Washington, Restaurants, Supermarkets and Interstate 5. Short way to Wallingford Farmers Market open May through September at Meridian Park. Walking score of 94/100 includes movies, library, range of Ethnic diners, grocery, parks.
There are too many restaurants and coffee shops in the area to mention!
