What makes this Condo unique
The oceanfront features combined with the proximity of activity and the many amenities featured in the complex is what made us fall in love with the Sea Watch. Great for families the complex activities include indoor/outdoor & toddler pools, saunas, game room, playground, volleyball, basketball, tennis, and new this year a Movie Theater onsite! Carryout and sundry stores also adorn the premises and grocery one block away. Popular Green Turtle across the street and many options for both delivery and fine dining. We had some problems which was unfortunate and ruined our vacation. Upon arrival, we were told by the owner there was an issue with the AC and that it should be fine. The master bedroom closet was emptied due to water leakage in the closet as well as a sloshy carpet before the door of the Master bath. This continued to worsen each day and servicemen tried to fix it each day to no success. The water leakage took up about a 1/3 of the master bedroom by day 3. Also by that time it was beginning to smell and I called the owner stating this wasn't livable. I informed the owner of the issues each day and on day 3 said we had to leave due to these conditions. He apologized, said he understood, would refund our money since we only stayed three nights and hopes once the issue gets fixed we would come back next year. I asked when and what would be refunded but he was vague. He ended up only refunding less than half (which meant we paid far more than the three night stay) and said it was only dampness and he wasn't responsible and his co-owner wasn't going to refund anymore. We never new their was another owner. This is not how someone should be doing business. This runined our one vacation we get a year. He should have never rented it out until the AC was fixed. In addition upon entering the condo it is outdated and the living room couch was very stained. Although it says it sleeps 10, 6-7 is realistic. The master bed was very uncomfortable and creaky. The showers turn cold after 1 person taking a shower. The kitchen was not cleaned well. The resort itself is lovely. I would recommend the resort but not this condo.
Want to thank this tenant for her review as I can address each point directly. Personally I made the drive to our unit the morning prior to their arrival as the AC drain problem had been passed on to me by the prior week's tenant. The only issue reported since June 24th rentals began. Maintenance immediately came to the unit-the second time- to tell me the drained had been "blown out" and that should solve the drip problem. I have attached the pics which were forwarded to the website pics, not close to 1/3 of the room as relayed. Maintenance came to the unit Sat-Tue each morning to insure issue was resolved. Tuesday was told the tenant would vacate Weds by noon. Originally had maintenance going in Weds to insure issue resolved, then tenant notified they would leave at 2. At 2:39 received text that the unit was vacated and could not get maintenance there until Thurs. Report by maintenance that unit was draining, no smell and no longer dripping. Cleaning personnel report carpet dry on Sat and no smell existed. Tenant said they paid to finished their vacation and was instructed to forward expense and I would approach the other owner to see about a further refund-nothing was sent. From when the unit was reserved there was concern about expenses which were adjusted down. Many Tenants have stay since 6/24/18 and the last tenant will vacate 10/22/18. No issues prior to or after this tenant. Outdated unit according to this tenant includes ceramic tile floors through dining area, new carpet installed in early June in the main water view room, granite kitchen countertops and newly painted kitchen. Personally I viewed two guest beds foldout, one queen foldout couch, then two twin beds, one double bed and one queen bed. Six persons in beds, two on foldout couch and 2 portable foldouts sleeps 10-realistically. No complaints ever about the water pressure or temperature. Cleaner remains on site Saturday and Sunday in case return is needed because tenant has cleaning issue-nothing was sent. It is easy for one problem to turn into only negatives. The unit, the people, the effort made should not ruin a whole vacation. Sorry for her negative experience yet it is not shared with the dozen tenants that have visited us this summer.
Enjoyed the stay. Thank you for having a beach cart, chairs, boogie boards at the ready if needed. That was nice. John was available to answer any questions. Would recommend and would stay again.
Clean, comfortable, and convenient!
This 10th floor unit was clean and spacious. Very comfortable and furnished nicely. The condo offers easy acces to the beach and the other amenities helped us survive with our two toddlers! It was easy to run back to the building from the beach for the bathroom. When the kids needed a change of scenery we went to the outdoor pool or the kiddie pool. Both were clean and the kids loved it! The playground was another great place to keep the kids busy. There are kid friendly restaurants a short drive away - Ropewalk and Fishtales both have outside playgrounds. And there is a 24 hour pharmacy and grocery store across the street.Would absolutely recommend this place for young families!
Solid Rental Great View
The property was well maintained and had all the expected amenities. The place was clean and had no defects. It had a fantastic view of the ocean and we could see each other on the beach. I took my elderly parents my wife and our 11 year old. It had a queen , double and 2 twins. It is hard to see in the photos but they were there. You need to bring your own linens or rent. There is a charge for parking for the week in the garage. Directly across the street is Gold Coast Mall and one block to the right is a food lion.
The only drawback was the furniture. If you have more then like 6 not sure where everyone would sit... There was a couch and 3 chairs.
There was also a dinning room table with 4 chairs but not lounging type chairs
Good unit and would rent again
Great Place, Great Owner
This condo at SeaWatch as perfect! The complex literally had it all. Great place to take a family. Steps to the ocean. Multiple pools. Movie theater. Basketball court. Ice cream. Plenty of elevators and parking. The security team was wonderful, and always made us feel safe. Not that the area appeared unsafe in any way, but it was nice to know that we someone was looking out for us. The unit was perfect. We had 10 people and never felt like we were crowded. Beds were comfortable. Space was clean. We didn't have one single problem with anything not working or broken. The owner is a wonderful person. I truly felt like I was renting from a friend. He is extremely accommodating. Was available for any questions we had. He left the keys and pool tags exactly where he said they would be. We never had any problems at all, but I believe that if we did have something , he would have done everything in his power to get it fixed. If we ever return to Ocean City, we will certainly stay in the complex and attempt to rent from the same owner.
During our stay, we watched fireworks at Northside park which is a little over a mile away. We could actually see them from our balcony. It was less than a 10 minute drive to the Jolly Roger Amusement and Water Park. In the same area as Jolly Roger is the boardwalk are 2 restaurants we really enjoyed. One is a seafood place called Jonah and the Whale and the other was Fish Tales, which is completely kid-centric where you actually eat with your toes in the sand. We also took a 20 minute trip to Assateague State Park where wild horses and deer roam among the dunes. Heading north only a couple of miles from Sea Watch you can also go shopping at the shops in Delaware, where there are no state or local sales taxes.
Overall, the place was amazing. We had a great time thanks to John and his Sea Watch condo.
Quick Get Away
The Sea Watch has great amenities with being ocean front, playground, basketball & volley ball courts and both indoor and outdoor pools. It is a great location. The owner is great to work with and accommodating, especially since we were coming mid week. I do think the unit needs updating but it was fine for the short stay.
Thanks for the kind words Angie. We are gradually updating unit as you saw new carpert & ceramic tile this season. The kitchen and master bath are next over winter 2014 as well as the balcony conversion. In addition to the family room and master bedroom, TV's will be added to the den and second bedroom.
