Description:

Our condo is bright, quiet and private. It sits on the third (top) floor of a small mixed-use building. Every living area gets lovely light. The home is furnished with care -- comfortable seating for great chats, lounging, reading or snoozing. We have a bright office space off the bedroom that provides a great place for catching up on work or study.

The living room sofa pulls out to a comfortable full-sized bed for up to two children. Our large dining table begs you to pull up a chair and enjoy a meal. The kitchen is stocked (our family are restaurant people) for your cooking needs.

The covered outdoor terrace provides ample space to enjoy morning coffee or evening cocktails.

We are situated in the heart of the Central Eastside, which keeps a busy calendar of events and is home to some of the best restaurants and bars in the city. We are blocks away from a stroll through the beautiful Buckman and Kerns neighborhoods, or you can head west across the Burnside bridge into downtown -- only a 15-minute walk.

We are just a 10 min walk (or one streetcar stop) to the Oregon Convention Center.

The streetcar is three blocks away and can take you to the Pearl District and Northwest Portland or into the South waterfront area and into downtown/PSU. We sit between two major bus lines on East Burnside and SE Morrison.

Street parking is often abundant, but can be more challenging during peak hours ( you may have to park a block away during busy hours). But most find they leave the car behind and enjoy the easy walkability or access to public transportation.

There probably aren't many neighborhoods like the Central Eastside anywhere in the US. The area remains one of Portland's industrial and commercial hubs even as it has developed into a food and beer/wine lover's paradise. Our home is situated near a plumbing supply company, a car dealership, a printing company, a coffee roaster, two new wine bars, a small 24-hr gym , and many of the city's highest-rated restaurants (Le Pigeon, Biwa). We just want to make sure you know this is a vibrant working neighborhood.

We are blocks from:

Noble Rot

The Doug Fir Lounge/Jupiter Hotel

rontoms

The Slammer Tavern

Burnside Brewing

Base Camp Brewing

J&M Cafe

Nicholas

Half-Pint coffee shop

About Christina Mullin

Robert and I have lived in Portland since the early 90s. He works as an Editor covering the US electricity markets. Christina is just wrapping up her Masters of Social Work degree. We love to travel, eat, and walk.

Why Christina Mullin chose Buckman Neighborhood

The home feels like a lovely escape in the heart of the city. The neighborhood is ever changing, vibrant and eclectic.

What makes this condo unique

We love the vast natural light in the home. We spent many an evening watching amazing sky patterns cross overhead from our sofa. The neighborhood come alive on many weeknights and weekends but the condo feels like a lovely oasis in the midst of that energy. You can step out, grab drinks, dinner and a show all within blocks and then return to the peace of the home. Rainy days beg you to curl up and read or watch netflix for an afternoon.

Great spot for a vacation!

  • 5 of 5

If you love PDX you're gonna love this SPOT! If you don't mind a little leg work, bring your bike or you can even drive if you want. It's a 15 minute walk over the Burnside Bridge in to downtown! Our host's response time great and they were very accommodating. Super comfy bed, light everywhere and there's A/C. Just an all around great location with very good host. Can't wait to come back and visit Portland again!

loved it!

  • 5 of 5

Great location. Comfy sofa bed and bed in bedroom. Full kitchen with everything we needed. Best ramen within walking distance, a few blocks literally. Most important the owner was SO lovely and gracious. I'm so glad I not only rented this apartment but that I had the pleasure of dealing with this particular landlord. It's a super quick Uber ride to the Pearl district, Hawthorne shopping is close too. I have nothing bad to say. All good. Thanks so much for letting us stay!

Beautiful Apartment

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed here the first week of November and we loved it. Not only is the apartment beautiful, but it's within walking distance to great coffee shops, restaurants and breweries. I highly recommend this apartment for anyone looking for a place to stay in Portland.
