About Guillermo Suescum
Our very first vacation together was to Granada and we both fell in love with the city and wanted to make a home for ourselves there. Our dream is that in a few years we can begin spending at least half the year in Granada, soaking up the culture, the sun and the warmth of the Nicaraguan people. We hope that when you come and stay in Casa Blanca you fall in love with Granada too. Guillermo & Melanie
Guillermo Suescum purchased this Villa in 2007
Why Guillermo Suescum chose Granada
This is really a special place. It was built in the 1750s and is one of the oldest buildings in Granada. It underwent a 3-year restoration to bring it back to it's original splendor. The house has original floors, ceilings and doors dating back to it's construction along with all the modern amenities one would need.
What makes this Villa unique
Centrally located. Just one block off the main park. Casa Blanca is tucked in behind the town's main cathedral and on Granada's main pedestrian street and restaurant row, Calle Calzada. The house has the traditional colonial design with a central courtyard full of beautiful tropical plants and a deep and cool 40 ft long swimming pool. Once you step into the house, you're in your own little private paradise.

Beautiful outdoor living space
We loved our time at this beautiful property. It is right in the heart of the town, and while it can be a little bit noisy at night, it was perfect for walking to all the sites. We had quite a few children traveling with us and they all loved the pool in the courtyard and the beautiful outdoor living space. The owners and management company were wonderful to work with. We would definitely stay here again.
Lindsey, We are so happy you enjoyed your visit to Granada! Please come visit again. :-)
Extremely comfortable; great location!
Casa Blanca is a wonderful house for a group. There is a large master suite upstairs (set back from the street), with 4 bedrooms along the pool concourse and another small room behind the kitchen. There are several living areas and a wonderful communal dining table. There are televisions in multiple places, ceiling fans, a pool bathroom with shower, and wifi throughout. The bedrooms are air-conditioned, too! We were a couple and four adult children, and we loved the house and all its amenities. Centrally located, Casa Blanca is perfect for exploring Granada and the surrounding area. The pool provided a much-needed respite from the almost oppressive heat of the afternoon (and we are from south Texas!), and we appreciated the washer and dryer facilities. We hope to return to Granada, and would be very very happy again to stay at Casa Blanca.
Oasis in the heart of Granada
Can’t really add anything to the many many other excellent reviews (Seriously who else gets 50 five star reviews in a row...). However two things that aren’t highlighted enough...
1. The owners and management company are very responsive and helpful. They went out and got pool noodles for my 4 year old!
2. Granada is hot, especially mid day. Having a gorgeous pool to retreat to during the afternoon sauna-a-thon was a huge perk.
3. The housekeeping is very thorough and discrete.
...And as everyone else has said it is very close to all the action and the villa is huge. It takes longer to walk from the kitchen to the front door than from the front door to the gelato shop across the street! 👍
Hi Chris, We are so happy you enjoyed your visit to Granada! I love that pool too. My wife and I laughed when we read your last paragraph about how the gelato shop is closer than the kitchen! True but never thought about it that way. Hilarious! ;-)

This house is absolutely beautiful! Every part of it is beautifully appointed, hands down the most amazing house I’ve stayed at in all my travels. Inside the house you feel like you’re in your own private sanctuary and secure compound. The swimming pool, plants and beautiful architecture and decorations create a peaceful setting that makes you never want to leave. When you do decide to leave though, you literally step out right onto the Main Street in town, where all the best restaurants, tour shops, bars, the beautiful Central Park and the amazing cathedral are all right outside the door. We couldn’t speak more highly of this place and can’t wait to go back. The owner Guillermo was extremely helpful and made sure everything was taken care of before we got there. He also gave us tons of great tips and advice about the town, the things to do and what not to waste time on which saved us a ton of internet research time. This house creates the setting for the most relaxing getaway possible in a part of the world where unlimited adventure and unspoiled culture is right outside the door.
Chris, We are super happy your enjoyed Casa Blanca as much as we do. We love to relax and disconnect from the world in the courtyard and pool knowing that everything we'd like to do is just outside our door. Please do come back!

Quiet house right in the middle of it all
This is a beautiful and really spacious house. The location could not be better. We were able to walk to everything, including some amazing restaurants within a few blocks of the house. The main square and cathedral is only a block way. Everyone was very comfortable in their separate rooms with their own bathroom. There were plenty of common areas to congregate. We got a lot of use out of the pool, and even when not used, it was a lovely part of the interior garden. The workmanship in the house is amazing! You will love it here.
Hi Jennifer, We are so happy you enjoyed your visit to Granada and to Casa Blanca. It's a special place and the Nicaraguans are such warm people. Wish I were there now.
Come back again!
Drawn by year-round warm weather, colonial-era architecture and the freshwater Lake Nicaragua, travelers from around the world are flocking to Granada. Eco-tourists will love visiting the dormant Mombacho volcano, sailing on the lake and ziplining through the trees. Fans of spa treatments and shopping will find plenty to do, too.
Nicaragua travel tops the New York Times’ best in travel for 2013. Ranked third out of forty-six select destinations, Nicaragua made it to the top of the list. Nicaragua is a country of thriving culture, history, wildlife and boasts a landscape dominated by pristine rainforest and miles & miles of serene sandy shoreline. Its avenue of volcanoes is stunning and protected by national parks. Conscious of their natural treasures, “eco” is both practiced and preached in Nicaragua. Nicaragua Lake is vast; it rivals that of Lake Titicaca in its beauty and grandeur. The lake’s Ometepe Island is the largest freshwater island in the world. It is composed of two volcanoes and an isthmus that connects them. Hiking here is a must. Beyond its natural features, Nicaragua’s nicest colonial city, Granada, offers great dining, exquisite cathedrals and museums from the Spanish era.
