Perfect for visits to the Sand Dunes, nearby hot springs, and spiritual centers
Delightful dome with mountain views, backing greenbelt and open retreat land. Open living/dining area with spiral staircase leading to loft for yoga, meditation, writing, etc. Fully equipped open-shelf kitchen with gas range and appliances. Washer/dryer, internet Wi-Fi, and reasonable cell service (AT&T and Verizon). Cozy in winter with radiant floor heat, wood stove and energy-efficient monolithic shell.
The dome interior is soothing and nurturing, with natural plaster walls and adobe floor, and curved spaces that recirculate air and energy. Situated in open forests, transitional between alpine and high desert ecotones, the air can be absolutely still, the sky spacious, and at other times subject to the sun and storm. Deer abound, coyotes howl. Winding paths lead through the open forest to Rangsal Yeshe stupa (15 minutes). Forest Service trailheads are just up the road (a 5-min drive or 25-min walk) and the property is close to town (a 7-min drive, or a 35-min cross country hike). Visit nearby spiritual centers, organic foods market, art collective, brewery, hiking and biking, Sand Dunes National Monument, and (our favorite) soak in several nearby hot springs. We can help with your visit!

Wonderful stay. Great place.
Amazing trip to Crestone and fantastic stay at the Delightful Dome!
My boyfriend and I had the best time visiting Crestone! The Delightful Dome was a fabulous and fun place to stay!
A very cozy place to stay in the winter, with mountain views right outside the window!
My girlfriend and I stayed in the dome for four days and three nights while visiting the nearby Great Sand Dunes National Park. The house is stocked with whatever you need besides food, which you can get yourself in Crestone or a nearby town. Everything was perfect as far as we experienced. The wood stove was very nice to give the place a more rustic feel and keep us plenty warm. The water filter was easy to use, and the heated floor was great after a day out in the cold. Also, there were amazing views of the stars at night right outside the door. We could actually see the Milky Way! We just settled in and relaxed the first day, but went to a hot springs for a beautiful sunset, the sand dunes and a waterfall, and toured a few of the religious structures scattered around Crestone on our other days. The Elephant Cloud Market and Cafe were very nice with lots of healthy and vegan options (My girlfriend is vegan and I am not). Spafford was very communicative leading up to the trip and was willing to answer any questions quickly. I would definitely recommend staying here!
