A Perfect Retreat
We spent five wonderful nights at Blueberry Hill and could not have been more impressed! The location was ideal--close enough to town to get anywhere quickly, yet tucked away on Douglas Island away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Juneau during peak cruise ship season. The house had everything we needed, and more; we cooked many meals in the well-appointed kitchen, and even bought some fresh caught salmon and grilled it on the BBQ! An amazing place...we will be back!
A Little Slice of Heaven on Earth!
This property has it all; private, quiet location with stunning views from the deck, easy access to downtown Juneau (10 minute walk or 5 minute drive) and spectacular hiking trails a block away that provided us with a bounty of wild blueberries. The hosts have thought of everything when appointing this home. Nice size bedrooms with comfortable queen beds - one showcases the owner's quilting talent! The bathroom was well stocked with a variety of incidentals. Appliances were in great condition and the kitchen was well stocked with basic supplies. They even had binoculars...which we used often, and bear spray...which we didn't need, but provided reassurance during our hiking and fishing adventures. There were several maps, brochures, books and other documents that were helpful in planning activities. We were treated not once, but twice with freshly baked blueberry muffins from the hosts along with a jar of homemade blueberry jelly. We consider the hosts, Steve and Ann Marie to be much more than hosts. They are friends, who we would definitely stay with again. Thanks so much for sharing your piece of paradise with us!

Our family had a wonderful time here.
The house is so cozy, we immediately felt settled in and comfortable. The house is well-appointed with lots of little things that made it easy to relax and enjoy our time in Juneau. Anne-Marie and Steve were very friendly and helpful with local information. The kids were especially thrilled to see all the board games there for family game nights. We were happy to head home here after long days of hiking. Thanks so much!
We stayed on blueberry hill in mid August and it was absolutely amazing. From the fresh blueberry jam to the bald eagle in the trees off the balcony and the spectacular view- it was amazing. Very spacious and lots of supplies that made our stay enjoyable. Thank you very to Steve and Ann-Marie- you made the end to our Alaskan adventure absolutely amazing!
Great place to stay!
We loved our stay on Blueberry Hill. Great place. A lot of heart and attention has gone into caring for this place. Great little deck with a view of Juneau and the mountains to eat outside. Cozy & very quiet. Loved it. Thank you.
Blueberry Hill is one of the finest VRBO rentals we have ever encountered.
The view is outstanding, and there is a convenient deck and table from which to view it. We (two adult couples) loved the spacious and well laid out arrangement. All four of of us take active roles in food preparation and we enjoyed working together in the compact, but fully equipped kitchen. Steve and Anne-Marie have given great thought to the needs of their guests and have created an ideal, comfortable rental experience. Anne-Marie came down a day into our stay and left us the best strawberry-rhubarb pie we have ever had.
Wonderful quiet neighborhood with great views, side walks, and lighting, and lots of hiking trails. One trail leaves from the house. And best of all...only the majestic mountains get in the way of your views.
