About Claire Keys

Claire & Fritz invite you to share a part of their space, an incredible setting to get away from it all. We live on the property and usually found working the vineyards or the gardens. You will appreciate the landscaped gardens which are Fritz's passion. This is a working vineyard run by Fritz and our grapes are sold to 3 local wineries. Claire's passion is cooking and entertaining and what spare time she has she spends in her vegetable and herb garden. Both have worked hard to make vintage view cottage a dream come true. Claire owns a retail store downtown Penticton, where she sells tea and hand knotted area rugs. Both love to travel and have seen numerous places around the globe and you will see some of the unique artifacts they have collected in the cottage.

What makes this cottage unique

We are constantly told what a unique and amazing little piece of the Okanagan we have. Vistas from every part of the property, and whether you awake to the birds singing or a breathtaking sunset you really feel like you have escaped away from it all. Just 10 minutes from Penticton it is hard to believe you are so close to all the conveniences when you arrive. Gardens, vineyards and the famous rocking climbing bluffs are on your doorstep. If it is peace and tranquility or adventure, training for the challenge or triathlons held at various times of the year, Vintage View Cottage is for you.

Amazing honeymoon stay!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed at the Vintage View Cottage for our honeymoon and we had amazing stay. The cottage is so cute and authentic- perfectly overlooking the lake while providing peace and quiet with the nature around. We felt like we were miles away and were able to enjoy our time alone, yet only minutes from the city and the beaches if we wanted to explore those areas too. We found this to be ideal as we would go paddle boarding in the day and then come back to the cottage and bbq and enjoy the property. The cottage is complete with everything you could possibly need to make your stay enjoyable and Claire Fritz provide a truly warm and hospitable experience. We will definitely be back and we highly recommend staying at Vintage View cottage. Thanks again Claire, Fritz and Pekoe! :)

Vintage View Cottage. Stunning!

  • 5 of 5

From the moment we arrived through the gates at Vintage View Cottage property we were in awe of the immaculately kept grounds and vineyard. It was so beautiful.

The cottage was immaculately clean and cozy with stunning views of Skaha Lake, mountains and vineyards. It's was the peace and quiet that we were looking for. Claire , Fritz and ( Pekoe their very friendly resident Border Collie) were there to welcome us and showed us around the cottage. A lovely bottle of red wine was sitting on the table for us. Our little dog Jasper was welcomed as well.

We would wake up to the stunning views and sip wine in the evening on the beautiful deck. Our hosts were gracious but gave us all the privacy we needed. We will definitely go back to this lovely cottage again!

Where do I start

  • 5 of 5

Well, first of all 5 stars is no where near enough for a rating. We've stayed in many B&Bs and VRBOs in the past and none are as perfect for our tastes as this wonderful little piece of paradise. We really enjoyed relaxing on the deck with our early morning coffee or evening glass of wine taking in the wonderful view. The sound of the gentle breeze only broken by the odd drop of a pine cone at our feet by Pekoe wanting to play.

Everything about this place from the green of the vineyard to the perfectly manicured lawn and the fantastic veggies in the garden is just perfect for peace and quiet and rejuvenation. You could spend all day looking at the view and it would not be a wasted day.

Thank you Claire and Fritz and Pekoe for making our stay truly unique and enjoyable. And Claire, we really enjoy the rugs we picked up at your very unique Teas & Weaves shop.

Pekoe we will be back to throw more pine cones for you.

Six wonderful days on this good earth.

  • 5 of 5

Other reviewers have ardently described your wonderful vineyard cottage, Claire and Fritz. If I ignore the modern conveniences for a moment, I could imagine myself on a nineteenth century estate; it could be Italy, with terraced hillsides of trellised grapevines. I stepped out the first morning, past roses and blue flag iris, to be hailed by Magpies and Steller’s Jays. A few meters into the vineyard I disturbed two rabbits who fled into the bush. With my old dog Choco in tow, we were slowly herded by your lovely Border Collie, Pekoe, along the back deer fence. Our attempt at stealth was productive; the flight of two more bunnies and the shriek of a Marmot signaling to his buddies on the hillside. A dozen stood up like soldiers disturbed on R&R. Then as an encore, we were seduced by a Fantail Killdeer who lured us away from her hidden chicks with a dancer’s leap, a fan of tail feathers, and a sidelong look at us across her finery. Claire and Fritz, you are the most hospitable of people. As other guests have related, Vintage View Cottage is a paradise; somewhere to write a symphony or to just compose one’s own thoughts. I must add, Claire, that we greatly enjoyed visiting your shop in Penticton, Teas and Weaves. And surely on our next visit we will stop again for dinner at Theo's. There are many superb restaurants in your area, but for imaginative home made gelato/ice cream and baklava, there is nowhere better.

My husband and I stayed at Claire and Fritz's cottage for seven days while touring wineries in the area. The cottage was clean and provided modern amenities in a rustic atmosphere. The view from the deck is breathtaking! Claire and Fritz checked in with us a few times to ensure we had everything we needed. We have stayed in many VRBOs and this one was one of the best. We left feeling relaxed and hoping one day to return.

Outstanding spring stay

  • 5 of 5

This is a beautiful cottage in an excellent location just on the edge of Penticton. The views are fantastic and the cottage is beautiful and comfortable. I had an excellent grape vine pruning tutorial from Fritz and plan to return to see the vines in other seasons. There are great hiking trails to access right from the cottage. Getting to the various wineries and to/from Penticton is easy and it was so nice to be in a quiet beautiful place away from it all at the end of the day exploring the area.

Vintage View cottage is tucked away on our property. Very private and secluded at the end of the road.

On a bench overlooking Skaha Lake you are surrounded by vineyards, hard to believe you are only 10 minutes from downtown Penticton. In the heart of the Okanagan valley where tourists flock from around the world. Festivals and tourist attractions start in May and continue right through until mid October, for the now famous annual wine festival. Plenty of activities within a few minutes of your doorstep. Saturday mornings market downtown Penticton is a great way to spend the morning before heading to the beach. We love our piece of heaven and know you will to.
