About Blythe Camenson

I'm originally from Boston via LA. I landed in Albuquerque in 1998 and never left. I've been a teacher (I was in the Middle East all of the 80s), a writer, a house renovator, and a Realtor, now with two properties to offer for short term vacation or business rentals. I love Albuquerque and can help you find just what you are looking for to make your trip here special.

Blythe Camenson purchased this cottage in 2012

Why Blythe Camenson chose South Valley

I had just sold my last house--one that I had renovated and updated--and was looking for my next project. A friend had just put this cottage on the market, and when I drove up to the property, then walked inside, I just knew I had to have it. The next day I made an offer and closed on it within the month.

In addition to this property I own another one and manage another. If the calendar is full here, check out the other two. Listing #s 589710 or 627820.

What makes this cottage unique

The first thing that struck me was how cute it was. I added window boxes, along with a neighboring cottage, and it became even cuter. The colorful front door, the wide plank reclaimed pine floors, and the bank of windows all around drew me to it. And the openness made this 600 sq ft home feel so much bigger. The private deck and backyard clinched the deal.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We This cottage is a little slice of beachy heaven in the middle of the desert. We can't rave about the space enough–perfect for a traveling couple, and decked out with all the amenities you could ask for. We were so pleased with the property that we extended our stay for 2 months. Our dog, Amble, joined us for this stay, and she loves the space as much as we do. Great little backyard, ample storage in the shed, and delightful landscaping for any plant lovers. We will definitely be staying here again during our next visit to ABQ. Bonus points: Walking distance to Java Joe's, Vital Foods, and Firenze Pizza (and all of downtown just a short distance away). Highly recommended.

Wonderful Cozy Cottage in Great Neighborhood

  • 5 of 5

I loved my 4 days here! The cottage is perfect - everything you might need, extremely clean and comfortable and perfectly maintained. Very comfortable bed and great shower! Loved the outdoor patio too. And the owner Blythe is great - so helpful, and she left food for me the first night because I got in so late all the stores were closed. And I loved the neighborhood - quiet, very interesting to walk around, and as a runner I loved the proximity to the Paseo de Bosque trail! I highly recommend this cottage for a visit to Albuquerque!

Casita in Old Town District of Albuquerque! The only way to stay!

  • 5 of 5

The little house was very charming and comfortable. The owner was extremely kind and accommodating.

It was centrally located for our move and allowed us to access all of Albuquerque and it's wonderful parks and restaurants.

Moving is very stressful and this part of was a respite.

Thank you!

Cozy cottage centrally located.

  • 5 of 5

Property very clean, cozy and well maintained. Parking is off the street right next to the cottage. The bed was comfortable, linens top quality and bathroom up to date. The washer/dryer was a bonus! The cottage is just the right size for 1 or a couple. We came to attend the balloon festival, and also did the Sandia Peak Tram. Old Town is another close fun activity. We had pizza delivered from Firenze pizza and it was delicious!! Blythe was friendly and responsive to all our needs. Would definitely give this rental 5 stars all around!

Wonderful Experience!

  • 5 of 5

I enjoyed a delightful stay during the entire month of June 2016. Blythe was the ultimate host and made sure that I was comfortable. Great neighborhood and a walkers' paradise.

As a special rebuttal to the review by Bill S., I was shocked by his "review". I am 6'0" tall and had no problems with the bed or furniture. The TV was new and worked great. Never felt that I was not safe. I was comfortable walking everywhere day and night! Parked my new Tesla right next to the cottage with no worries. You will not regret renting this cottage from Blythe.

Owner's Response: Stephen Thank you so much for your nice review, and your rebuttal of the review by Bill S. Yes, his "review" is a shocker. I'm glad you found the bed comfortable as well as the other furnishings and that you liked the neighborhood, and my service. I think about 25'other travelers agreed with you. It was a pleasure meeting you, and Inky too, and I look forward to your next visit. Blythe
