About the property

3 Bedrooms, 2.5 Bathrooms, Sleeps 6

Privacy like this is hard to find anywhere these days... especially when you're still just minutes from everything! The house sits on 3 acres and is next to 100 acres of wilderness, so it's like being on a private reserve in the middle of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Whether you're into bird watching and relaxing on the back deck listening to the creek, want to cook out and sit around the fire pit and soak in the hot tub, want to get out and explore the area attractions or just go to dinner, you're centrally located to it all.

Each of the two main bedrooms have complete privacy at opposite ends of the house, each have queen size beds, private decks and are fully stocked with fresh linens and have ceiling fans. There is plenty of storage and hanging space. The kitchen is well stocked with all your basic needs even my favorite, a french coffee press! The house is light and bright with south facing windows and catches the cool mountain breeze so there's no need for AC.

Enjoy the sunset view from the sunken hot tub while you cook out on the grill and relax around the fire pit. This house is perfect for a weekend getaway or a month long vacation... whichever it is, I guarantee you'll want to stay longer!

About Owner/Property Manager

I grew up in Spain, Belgium and England, was tri-lingual by the age of 10. I graduated from the University of Bristol and promptly took off to work as a cook on sailboats in the Caribbean and Mediterranean. I ended up in Costa Rica where I lived for 5 years then moved to Boone NC. I now live in Asheville where I own a women's boutique so I can rent out my beautiful house in Boone for other people to enjoy when I'm not there!

Owner/Property Manager purchased this cabin in 2002

Why Owner/Property Manager chose Boone

Come home to this private wooded hideaway just 5 minutes from town. Multiple decks for relaxing, a sunken hot tub with sunset views, a fire pit and bbq on the patio. Convenience to Boone, Blowing Rock and the Blue Ridge Parkway make this a fantastic location for a mountain vacation!

What makes this cabin unique

It's hard to find this kind of privacy anywhere these days... let alone so close to everything!

Guestbook comments from the owner

Anna, we thoroughly enjoyed your mountain home. I think we spent most of our time on the deck just absorbing the quiet, the solitude, and the beauty. Tried to see the bears, but never did, just their emptying of the trash cans! We did see deer in the driveway though.

Thank you for allowing us the use of your beautiful home.

Quiet and relaxing retreat but still close to everything

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for several days and had a great time. The deck and patio area are wonderful places to sit and relax. It feels very secluded in the woods but there is still a mountain view. The home's kitchen is well appointed if you want to cook. If you would rather eat in Blowing Rock or Boone, it is very convenient. One caveat for the home, there is only 1 TV in the library. The library is connected to the master with no door to separate the space. This wasn't an issue for our stay but if you have people that enjoy watching TV, it does restrict some of the privacy of the master. Overall, we loved this location and it was so peaceful--would recommend the rental to anyone.

What a wonderful getaway! You will love the privacy.

This getaway is exactly like it is described. You have a winding road to get to the end of the road. You get there and it is clean, gorgeous views, and located close to Blowing Rock and Valley Cruces. This is a great deal and the owner is so nice to work with. A place to go back to for sure.

Beautiful home, beautiful grounds, peace and privacy.

  • 5 of 5

This home was absolutely perfect! It's at the end of the road (a well maintained gravel road) and set deep in the lot so it feels like the house is part of the mountain and the trees. The yard is lush with the most beautiful plants and little natural garden areas that must have been carefully planned but look like they just sprang up on their own.

The beds were amazingly comfortable. And the master bedroom I could have just been happy staying in that room during the whole visit. It's big, with lots of open windows, skylights, and the feeling that you are sleeping in the trees. When you turn the lights out, you can see the beautiful outside through the natural light and it's magical.

There was lots of room, comfortable furniture, fully stocked kitchen, soft towels, a beautiful deck that has a perfect view of the mountains in the distance, a hot tub, chairs, a picnic table... Everything worked, the TV room was great, there's room in the bedroom furniture to really unpack, and room in the closets to hang your clothes. There is not the feeling that you're staying in someone else's home with their personal belongings packed tight in the drawers and closets.

Making the reservations, checking in and out, staying there, having everything you need right there, was the easiest experience. I could go on and on - it was lovely, it was perfect, and I'd love to visit again!

Hated to leave! Can't wait to come back! Everything about this mountain getaway is wonderful! From the mountain view to the skylites in the master suite to the cozy TV room and personal will love it all! You feel like you are in your own home rather than a vacation rental. Anna the owner is a pleasure to deal with!
