Fiddler on the Beach is a small, tranquill complex located directly on the beautiful white sand beaches of the Gulf of Mexico. Lush palms and landscaping surround the entire building and large pool area.
Our location and views can't be beat! Come relax and enjoy our spacious two story town home model located on the second and third floors. You don't even need to use the elevators but they are there if you wish. On our main floor is the kitchen, dining, living area and three piece bathroom and upstairs are 2 bedrooms and another full three piece bathroom. Families love this layout which allows young children a quite bedtime and teens their own space to hang out, watch movies and play games. It's clean, bright and airy with white wicker furniture and hardwood floors. Especially nice is how quiet this particular unit is as we have an corner unit with no others above. After a day on the beach relax on your private second floor balcony surrounded by palm trees swaying in the ocean breezes while taking in the sights and sounds of tropical birds and watching the sun disappear into the Gulf!
Several cafes, bars and restaurants are within walking distance and many more are accessible by hopping on the Suncoast Beach Trolley where you can explore all of the unique beach communities from its beginning at Park Street Terminal in downtown Clearwater to 75th Avenue and Gulf Boulevard. Check out the shops on Corey Avenue, enjoy the sights at John's Pass Village. If dining in is for you, you will love the fully equipped kitchen with granite countertops.
Fiddler on the Beach is just 30 minutes from Tampa Airport 20 minutes from St Petersburg airport and just 20 minutes off I-275.

The description of the unit and property was more than accurate, the pool was very clean and a nice temperature, the property was well maintained. The managers, Cheryl and Rick e-mailed us looking for our time of arrival so we may be greeted when we got there, they started our stay with a smile and made checking in relaxing and stress free (well needed after a long flight). The owners Julie and Philip quickly answered any questions that we had and they were very nice to work with and they made sure that we had everything. The unit its self was immaculate! every detail was thought of, and a view that kept you in awe. We ate at many restaurants that are within walking distance to the unit, but a 5 minute drive we found Keegans and Chicago-jaqx, the food was fantastic and not over priced. A car is not needed (but helpful for the food market) because you can take a trolley up and down the coast from Johns Pass to Clearwater and it stops in front of the condo! We have stayed at this unit twice before and another one in the same building, this is our favorite unit, we never had one regret! If your thinking about coming to Indian rocks Beach, look no more, this is it!

Not as family friendly as it used to be
Our condo was nice but no room in cabinets to put our food tho. Lots of ! Stuff! Nice king bed! Slept very well. Lots of linens provided. Beach was Amazing. Condo could use some new beach chairs and umbrella, but items there were serviceable. TV, chairs , sofa were very nice. For our family of 5 we were comfortable. The managers on the other hand, of the condo units, were not very nice. He smoked on the grounds as he worked. Their balcony was a mess and our children and grandchildren could not play at the pool or the grounds. They have lots of' new rules' to follow since our last visit. They even fussed at adults Tossing a foam football! We have stayed at the Happy Fiddler so many times since 1991 and this was the first time there were so many rules- no night swimming, no toys in the pool etc!! One lady got yelled at for getting in the elevator wet! No pets allowed - not a problem for us- but managers have two dogs! Heard from at least three other families staying there, that the managers were not nice to them either. This needs to be addressed by the owners and condo association. We have stayed at the Happy Fiddler over 20 times and this is the first time we have not felt welcome or 'at home'. Debating on our return trip next year.
I'm happy to hear you enjoyed our unit but I am disappointed to hear you and your family did not enjoy your stay as much as your previous visits. I have forwarded your review to the condo board.
I replace the beach chairs and umbrellas twice a year when I am down. The salt air corrodes things quickly and if they are not cleaned when put away this happens even quicker. Unfortunately not everyone looks after my condo like they do their own home. I do leave two high quality larger chairs in the closet under the stairs with the other beach toys for use in case the smaller ones break down. They are a little heavier but they stand up well to the elements.
The cleaners are supposed to leave one cabinet empty for food, but with weekly rentals each guest puts things away in a different spot and things get mixed up and spread out. There is not a lot of cabinet space and I do provide a very well equipped kitchen for my guests. I know of one owner who takes pictures of how the cupboards should be arranged and sticks them inside each door. I thought it seemed a little over-the-top but I do plan on doing the same on my next visit as I experience the same thing you did and spend a couple of hours each trip rearranging my kitchen.
As for the smoking, I wish it was non-smoking on the grounds as well as in the units but this is something the condo association agreed upon (they didn't get my vote).
Only owners are allowed pets not guests. This change was implemented over two ago.
It is a new city bi-law that no swimming is allowed after dark. I used to love going for a late night dip. :-(
The managers are usually very nice to deal with, although Matt can come off abrupt at times. Summer is a stressful time for them with a packed building. Your children and grandchildren should have been allowed to play on the grounds and pool! Toys are allowed in the pool but no ball throwing.
I hope you do come back and give The Fiddler another try.
The unit is very clean and well appointed. The grounds of the property are also well maintained
