The kitchen is large and fully equipped for gourmet cooking. Large front porch has vineyard views, back patio for perfect relaxation, spa, picnic table, Gas and charcoal grill. Vegetable garden, flowers and vineyards to enjoy.
My husband and I purchased this land, built and refined it over the last 37 years. We planted the vineyards in 2000, and currently sell the Cabernet Sauvignon grapes to Benziger Winery in Glen Ellen. You might want to visit there while in Sonoma Valley -- their tours and tastings are the best! It's just so pretty and relaxing here. We have the beautiful saltwater swimming pool, forest, lawn, flowers, spa, the vineyards and a vegetable garden with something growing all year round.
Bobbie Curley purchased this chateau / country house in 1980
The saltwater pool is an event unto itself. A really beautiful view setting.
This was one of the most memorable vacations of my life, and this home was a large part of that. Where to start...?
The kitchen is designed for foodies. We alternated between eating in and eating out, but when we dined in, they had every kitchen accoutrement we could have wished for. There was a meat grinder, so we ground our own duck burgers! It made for the perfect day's end after wine tasting (and purchasing).
The pool is amazing, and with 8 adults we had more water fights than kids would have had. At night, we floated in the pool with glasses of wine and gazed at the stars, followed by a long soak in the hot tub.
The rooms are large and well appointed, the common rooms very comfortable and welcoming.
If you're a group of adults looking for a place to stay in wine country, stop looking now. There is simply no better place to call home in Sonoma than here!
Instead of spending 15 hours on a plane flying to Italy. Just drive 50 mins from SF and you are there. The house was perfect and accommodated our group. Hang out on the front porch in the morning for coffee and then walk over to the pool area and spend the day. Finish the evening in the hot tub and just do it all over again. We had plans to check out wineries and the Square but never left the compound. It was amazing and Bobbie was a pleasure to work with in getting this renatl all lined up.
This house is just perfect. There were 8 of us girls that came to Sonoma for a relaxing weekend away and to run the Napa to Sonoma Half Marathon. While the pictures of this house/property are beautiful, they don't do it justice. It was so peaceful and everything was immaculately kept. It's just far enough from the Sonoma Square that you don't feel like you're in town at all, but a quick drive down the mountain and you're there. The pool was beautiful, clean and wonderful to just float around in. Bobbie, the owner, was extremely communicative, quick to respond and very informative about our stay. The booking process was thorough and professional. From the moment we arrived we felt like we were at home and loved every minute of our weekend. The kitchen is fully stocked and we didn't feel like anything was missing.
We hope to be back next year! This time for more than three nights... :)
We had a wonderful time staying here. The house and gardens are truly magical and Bobbie the owner was super responsive and so easy to work with. We had several young kids and there was lots for them to do (and us!) from walks in the vineyards to playing in the sandbox, hunting for frogs, catching and releasing lizards, sampling celery from the gardens, lounging in the hot tub under the beautiful oak trees, sunning at the pool, cooking in the well stocked kitchen and more!
We stayed for a week and loved everything about this property! From the comfortable house, beautiful pool, charming garden, convenient location and breathtaking views. It's a 5 minute drive to downtown Sonoma and an hour from San Francisco. It was a memorable week for our family!
We stayed for nearly a week at this outstanding property in Sonoma wine country and had a great time. The home is comfortable and immaculate, the patio and gardens are pretty, and the pool area surrounded by the hillsides of vineyards is fabulous. There was everything here we needed for a fun and peaceful country getaway. Well worth the price as compared to a hotel room. Felt like Provence just an hour from SF.
This a wine country property with commercial wine grapes grown on the property. There are many fun wine tour/tasting opportunities in the close neighborhood -- and in nearby Napa (12 mi.)
