About Alan Kremer

We're an active family of 5 that loves travel, exploration and the outdoors. We make our home in the Twin Cities, but love the shores of Lake Superior and getting 'up north'.

Alan Kremer purchased this cabin in 2013

Why Alan Kremer chose Northwest

There's something special about being in the woods. We found this property in the early Spring of 2013 after the last big snow and just couldn't escape the appeal of the absolute peace and quiet.

We were hooked from beginning and knew that this would be the perfect year round get-away.

Great Winter Getaway

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the cabin over NYE weekend and had a great time. The cabin was immaculate and very cozy. The gas fireplace kept it very warm. The kitchen was well stocked and we made all of our meals at the cabin while we stayed. The kids loved exploring in the forest and our dogs were in heaven running and playing in the snow. We had 4 adults and 4 children and were a bit cramped, but we were aware of the size of the cabin, so no complaints, just an observation. Would highly recommend this cabin!

Clean & newer property tucked away in the woods!

  • 5 of 5

We rented the Kramer cabin for a weekend with our twin daughters (6). The surrounding woods are gorgeous and serene. Every morning we went on walks with our dog. He was beside himself with forest joy. We had campfires every night, complete with s’mores. It’s a fantastic place to stargaze and listen to the sounds of nature. The interior of the cabin felt new, super clean, and full of charm. Complete with washer/dryer and dishwasher. As other reviewers have noted, the kitchen is well stocked! I made a handful of meals there for my crew, which is far more restful – home away from home feel - than always searching for restaurants, though there are plenty of places to visit nearby. Our girls were bonkers for the bunk beds. And the fact that there were 3. They could each take a top bunk. Very big deal. We loved the singing “Buck” in the sunroom. We listened to him croon while playing checkers. During the days, we traded our time between Bayfield and Duluth. The fall colors, even beyond peak, were stunning. This place definitely makes our list of places to visit again.

Fantastic vacation!

  • 5 of 5

What a great place! We loved our time away in the peace and stillness of this remote cabin. The cabin was clean, everything clearly labeled, and we had everything we needed. The layout was great, too. The best bit was the separate 4 season porch, as we were able to relax after the the kids went to bed. Plus, our 1 1/2 yr old was entertained by the talking/singing deer on the wall! Our kids loved exploring the woods and we had some great family time. I highly recommend this cabin to anyone. And our kids said this was the best vacation they ever had! Many thanks to the owners for allowing us to create some great family memories.

Great location and awesome cabin

  • 5 of 5

We rented this cabin for an ATV weekend with another couple. This cabin was wonderful. Lots of space and we enjoyed the porch. The kitchen was wonderful. Lots of counter space and stocked with everything you need and more. This was the best kitchen of any of my rentals in the past. The atv trails were located at the end of the driveway, what more could you ask for. I would recommend this cabin rental and can't wait to go back next year.

Lovely and peaceful get-away

  • 5 of 5

Our family had such a wonderful time at the Kramer Cabin! It was good to be away from life's distractions and just focus on being together playing games and hanging out. What I really enjoy about this place is the feeling that you are really getting away. It feels remote, quiet and peaceful. The birch and pine trees are majestic. The cabin itself is homey, and the sun room is fun for a change of scenery. The beds are also very comfortable. The area it is located in is a quiet community with good local restaurants and bakeries. Bayfield and the Apostle Islands are only a 45 min drive away, so if a person wants to get up to Lake Superior or do some hiking it's not far either. I highly recommend staying here. Our family hopes to come back. Thank you Kramers!

Beautiful, secluded cabin in the woods - perfect place to relax and unwind!

  • 5 of 5

The cabin is beautifully situated on 20 acres of land that is surrounded by trees! The detached sun room is beautiful and an excellent place to hang out and appreciate the scenery! The cabin is clean, spotless and has everything you need to enjoy your stay. We were only 3 people staying there but it could definitely accommodate up to 10. It was great to be able to use a washer and dryer. The owners are meticulous, everything is labeled as far as light switches, etc. They also have clear, easy to understand instructions on what needs to be done. It is located about 1 hour from Duluth, Minnesota and 1 hour from Bayfield, Wisconsin. We enjoyed the Tall Ships Festival and we also took in a Sea Cave Tour in Cornucopia with Captain Mike of Good Earth Outfitters. Also be sure to check out the lovely gift shop that they have at Good Earth Outfitters. All in all, our stay at his cabin was wonderful, we would stay again!!
