About Kathy Case
I'm an avid gardener.....a gardening 'Geek', I believe it's called! I lived in Seattle until age 15, then moved with my family to Port Townsend. After graduating in 1967, I moved back to the city. As I got older, I dreamed of moving back to this area, longing for a slower, and more beautiful, environment. Fortunately, it happened, and I now enjoy having my family, who have grown up in this area, come for holidays and/or play times on the beach. Each Easter since the year 2000, we have an egg hunt on the large grounds, and have been lucky enough to dodge the rain every year but one. This area has only 18 inches average of rainfall per year.....much less than the city!

Why Kathy Case chose Port Townsend
This property was passed down to me, and I truly appreciate living here. As well as living right here in the middle of nature between Port Townsend and Sequim, it is easy to enjoy the many holiday and festival celebrations these towns celebrate every year. I especially love the holiday teas at Port Townsend's Victorian mansions. Hood Canal is also close by, and I especially like to visit Mt. Walker......it actually has a view of Seattle!
What makes this Cottage unique
My home, and the vacation studio, is located less than 10 feet from the water's edge. Facing west, there are beautiful sunsets as well as stormy scenes, a wide variety of cloud formations, fog, rainbows, moon and stars, and yes, sometimes just a moody gray atmosphere.......but even that is romantic! And never boring.

Our favorite rental getaway yet!
This was the best rental getaway for a couple (or single) that we have found! It only fits two so it would not fit a family. The pictures do it justice. It is literally right on the beach. At high tide you could practically put your toes in the water. It is so quiet and restful, which we thought was beautiful. But not as beautiful as the view out your window. The land lady was sweet and kind. Everything was very clean and well kept. The cabin was halfway between the darling towns of Port Townsend and Sequim. Grab your favorite person and your favorite book and you will have your weekend made.
Great water view
A sweet little cottage, right on the water. Quiet and cozy. Kathy was very helpful, and we learned about how, in the good old days, the train from Port Townsend to Forks went right behind the house. The tracks have been gone for many years, but it is an interesting story.
I was looking for a quiet place, and found it!
This is a wonderful, private getaway spot. It is small, as described, but in warm weather the sheltered porch, side garden, and deck over the beach make it feel spacious. Though the outside appears rustic and beachy, and the inside has been thoughtfully updated (good heat, plentiful outlets, beautiful wood floors, and modern plumbing, thermal windows). And super comfortable bed.
As described, no kitchen, but the little fridge/microwave/coffee maker are fine if that's all you need.
Kathy is a thoughtful and kind host, with exceptional communication every step of the way.
Beautiful setting for a very relaxing celebration! Kathy was very nice and renting her cottage was very easy to do! I’d recommend this place if you are looking to enjoy some peace and quiet with beautiful surroundings!
Peaceful and Perfect
Greatly enjoyed the location, the water and flowers, and my visit with the owner. Loved it and would stay again in a heartbeat!
This was the cutest, quaint little spot. Just a room and bathroom, close quarters. Beautiful right on the water. Room was furnished with everything that could be needed, and definitely felt like a great escape from the city. It was just what we were hoping for.
Kathy was great in communication and directions were clear for access.
Thank you for the positive compliments! I'm so happy you enjoyed your stay, and that it felt good to be away from the city. Thank you again, and please come back any time! Kathy
Located between Port Townsend and Sequim at the south end of Discovery Bay. A perfect 'home base' to explore the many wonders of the Olympic Peninsula. Recreation maps are available to assist you on your adventures!
If relaxation is your desire, you can sit in the many seating areas and just enjoy all that nature has to offer.
