About the property

3 Bedroom, 3 Bathroom Condominium In A Resort Like Setting

Location

This property is located at The Plantation at Princeville, one of the newest condominium projects in the Princeville resort community. The property is approximately 28 miles from Lihue airport on the north shore of Kauai. This is an excellent location to use as a home base on the north shore and is within 10 minutes from Hanalei and approximately 25 minutes from Ha'ena and the base of the Napali coast hiking trails. You will find convenient access to beaches less than one mile away from the condo including Anini and Hideway’s beach. The St. Regis resort is located approximately 1 mile from The Plantation at Princeville and is an excellent location to grab a drink and watch the sun set over Bali Hai. The Princeville shopping center is also less than a mile away and where you will find a grocery store and several shops and restaurants. If you have small children you will find a community park in the Princevelle resort community just steps away from the Princeville shopping center. The community also had a jogging path which can be accessed just across the street from The Plantation at Princeville complex.

Accommodation

This luxury property is a 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom condominium and is a second floor unit with a lanai. This particular unit is located within the interior loop of The Plantation at Princeville and overlooks the pool and waterfall. The Plantation at Princeville is one of the newer condo complexes in the Princeville resort community and offers unbeatable amenities for your use and enjoyment during your stay. The condominium complex has a community pool, impeccably maintained landscaping, a fitness facility and a business center.

The condo is fully equipped to serve all of your living needs and since it is our second home, we have done our best to decorate and accommodate it with quality furnishings, linens and supplies. The living area includes a fully equipped kitchen, which can accommodate the best of chef's, a dining room table that will accommodates four and an eat in kitchen with bar stools that can accommodate an additional four guests. The living area has a comfortable couch that you can sink into and a coffee table to prop up your feet at the end of a long day. The main living space opens onto a spacious lanai with comfortable patio furniture that can accommodate four guests. The lanai also has a small electric BBQ for outdoor grilling (for safety, only electric grills are all allowed). The main living area has air conditioning but honestly we prefer to turn on the ceiling fans and open all of the windows and take in the trade winds Hawaii is so famous for. Our condo has local phone service, basic cable television, Wi-Fi, high speed internet (we cannot guarantee connection as we are at the mercy of our internet provider). We have also equipped the condo with a pack and play crib, stroller and high-chair. You will also have the use of the garage and one parking space just outside the garage. We also have beach chairs, beach umbrellas, sand toys and a cooler for your use during your stay.

The property has 3 bedrooms, the master bedroom has a king size bed, air conditioning and a ceiling fan and the master bathroom has two vanities, a large soaking tub, stand up shower, separate toilet facility and a large closet. The second bedroom has a queen size bed, ceiling fan and an on suite bathroom which has a vanity and a shower/tub combination. The third bedroom has two twin beds, a ceiling fan and a bathroom which is a shared guest bathroom with a shower/tub combination and large vanity. The bedrooms are fully equipped with high quality luxury hotel quality bed linens and the bathrooms have 100% white Turkish cotton towels. We also provide blue and white striped cabana towels for your use and enjoyment at the pool or local beaches. Linens and towels are inspected on a regular basis and are cycled frequently to ensure quality and comfort. You will also find a hair dryer in each bathroom and an iron and ironing board in the master closet.

Recreation

Where do I start, there are so many wonderful things to do while on Kauai’s north shore. I have named a few of our favorite things to do below:

Beaches - we love Anini beach, we usually take the hiking trail (access near the Westin in Princeville). The hike is a bit steep at times so if you are not up for that you can always drive. Tunnels beach is in Ha'ena near the end of the road and is a 20 minute drive, this beach has great snorkeling and has a great view of Bali Hai. If you asked our daughter, her favorite beach is probably Hanalei bay beach and pier. Hideway’s beach is also wonderful and is located about a mile away from the house, parking is limited, and there is a hike involved but once there you will enjoy this small secluded spot. Hiking - we love the Napali coast hike. You will find the trail head at the end of the Kuhio highway (hwy 56) in Ha'ena state park. Golf - Princeville is home to the Prince course and also the Makai golf club (across the street from The Plantation). Spa - spa treatments are plentiful at the St. Regis and the Westin, both located within one mile of the plantation. Other - you may also consider a helicopter tour, boat tour, snorkeling tour, scuba diving, biking, horseback riding or renting a kayak/stand up paddle board.

Restaurants

We have only listed restaurants/food selling establishments that we frequent while in town:

Java Kai - a great spot to grab and sip your morning coffee and bagel sandwich or afternoon tea. A must stop every time we are in town. Bubba's Burgers - located in Hanalei and also Kaapa we think that this is one of the best burgers in town. We love the location on Hanalei where we can eat our burgers and watch the world go by. Baracuda - nice upscale restaurant in Hanalei, check out their website for the sample menu. St.Regis resort - pricy but worth a drink and a few snacks at the bar area during sunset. Costco- we also like to cook at home so we always stock up on essentials upon arrival. The Kauai

Costco is about 10 minutes from the Lihue airport in the opposite direction so we usually stop in on our way to the condo after landing at the airport. Foodland - located in the Princeville shopping center, approximately one mile from the condo, you can pick up grocery items for your stay. Lappert's ice cream - grab yourself a sweet treat or treat the kids. Lappert's is located in the Princeville shopping center. The dolphin fish market - we have not tried the restaurant but love the fish market. Chevron gas station in Princeville - sells locally raised grass fed beef in a fridge at the back!

About Alanna Schroeder

We purchased this second home in 2013 for our family to use and enjoy. We are a family of three (with one on the way) and we love making our way to Kauai for our family vacations. Our daughter is 3 and loves the amenities that the Plantation complex has to offer, especially the pool. She also enjoys her time on the lanai over looking the pool as well, this is where she prefers to have most of her meals.

Alanna Schroeder purchased this condo in 2013

Why Alanna Schroeder chose North Shore

We choose this property because it is one of the newer condo complexes in the Princeville area. We also love the proximity to Hanalei and all of the wonderful beaches that the north shore has to offer. This particular unit is located in the interior loop of the complex and it overlooks the pool and well maintained gardens on the property.

What makes this condo unique

We love this property because it provides a resort like setting inclusive of a community pool, gym and business center. We also love that the lanai overlooks the pool and vast gardens on the property. The unit is quite as it is in the interior loop of the larger complex and is not subject to street noise.

Perfect family-friendly getaway spot

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I, our 15 month old, and my mom stayed for 11 nights mid-May and had a wonderful experience overall. Kauai's North Shore area is breathtakingly beautiful, and the Plantation at Princeville is a great home base to explore it all. There are a dozen or so beaches that we loved within a 30 minute drive either direction. Weather-wise we found the North to be more family friendly in terms of calm waters, but we did venture to the West beaches a little too.

Alanna's condo is clean and spacious, and very well equipped (all of the kitchen tools you could ever need to create a delicious meal, and lots of beach-type stuff so you won't have to rent - umbrella, chairs, beach toys, boogie boards, etc). We enjoyed all of our breakfasts out on the lanai, which overlooks the palm tree-filled courtyard and pool area. The pool area was always very tidy and my daughter loved taking a dip every day. There are rules around pool use because there are permanent residents who live at Plantation at Princeville, but all of which we found pretty reasonable (ex. no marco polo, no big pool toys, no climbing or diving off the fountain, etc.). There is a gas BBQ down at the pool which we used every night, and Alanna also has an electric one on the lanai.

There is a FoodMart and shops within a 5 minute drive from the condo, but also a Costco near the airport for larger items. We ventured into Hanalei for tacos, coconut shrimp, poke, and shave ice nearly every day on our drive to/from the beach. Tunnels, Ke'e, and Anini beaches were our favorites. We did hike down to Queen's Bath one afternoon with my daughter in a hiking pack, and swimming in this gorgeous rocky natural pool one of one the highlights for my husband and I (NOT safe for kids due to waves, so my mom and daughter watched from above). My mom and I also took a great all-levels yoga class at Metamorphosis in Kiluaea for you yoga lovers out there.

Can't say enough about this place - hope to be back soon!!! Thanks Alanna!

Just right for us!

  • 4 of 5

Aloha, My family of 4 stayed in "Paradise" as a combined family vacation/destination wedding. What a great place to lay your head at night! Clean, spacious and quiet, just right for us!

This unit was a great location to many area activities such as beaches, restaurants, hiking and more either in Hanalei Bay, Princeville or taking a drive to the south!

Owners were quick to respond to any of our concerns. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone!

Mahalo! 🤙

Beautiful, spacious condo with all the amenities

  • 5 of 5

We loved this condo! Alanna was very responsive and helpful. Her recommendations on the island are fantastic. Princeville is the perfect north shore location: close to everything, beautiful for walks, and the condo itself is lovely. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you could possibly need. We appreciated getting to use the beach toys, chairs, umbrella, and cooler from the garage. The pool and hot tub area is great and we spent many evenings swimming there. Great bathtub in the master bath--our family loves baths! It was a perfect family vacation.

My personal recommendations are the juice company in Kilauea (amazing!!), all the farmers markets, Anini beach, and Wishing Well shave ice! Mahalo!

A wonderful stay in a beautiful home.

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this well-appointed home. Everything you might need during your stay was available, including a good washer/dryer and cookware. The pool was great for a dip after being out all day, and the hot tub relieved our aches after hiking. Best of all, you can take a short walk to both Queen's bath, and the criminally underused Kaweonui (Sealodge) Beach. Just walk down Kaweonui Rd (just across from the driveway!) for 5 min, turn right onto Keoniana Rd and look for the concrete driveway on the right. In less than 10 min, you're in a beautiful, secluded beach, very likely with no one else!

Owner's Response: Hi Michael, Thanks for you kind words! We just upgraded all of our appliances last summer and we purchased the larger washer and dryer because we know how important that is! So glad you enjoyed your time in Kauai. Come back for another visit soon! Mahalo, Alanna

Great location at Plantation

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed the choice location away from the roads, and overlooking the pool from the large, airy lanai. Clean and bright unit with bedrooms and bathrooms for everyone, well stocked, including the beach gear in the garage - the sun umbrellas were very much appreciated! As with most rentals, some sharper knives would be nice....but a minor inconvenience. Alanna was very responsive and helpful before, during, and after the stay. The preparations and organization very thorough - including the security code for forgetful folks like me (I don't think that was a coincidence - thank you). Short walks to some hidden beaches and Queen's Bath. We look forward to returning and don't hesitate to recommend it to anyone heading to the Princeville area.

Mahalo

Owner's Response: Hi Richard, Thanks for the kind words and I am so glad you enjoyed your stay on Kauai! Yes, the knives are always my biggest battle. I have new ones on the way now and they should arrive in the next two weeks! Glad you enjoyed the location of the home within the complex, it really does make a difference being located on the interior loop and over looking the pool and grounds. We hope you will come back soon to try out our new knives....Mahalo, Alanna

Wonderful home - clean, spacious, and everything we needed!

  • 5 of 5

Our stay at Paradise Plantation was everything we needed - clean, spacious, and included all the amenities to make our vacation restful. We loved the daily close access to the pool and hot tub – not to mention meeting the friendly people there who were also staying in the area. We had a lot of room to spread out and accommodate the needs of our 1.5 year old. Princeville was a perfect spot to stay, close to many amazing beaches and hikes plus just around the corner from gorgeous Hanalei Bay. We hope to visit again soon! Thanks for all your helpful suggestions Alanna – and for welcoming us into your beautiful home.
