About E'Lane

We are a retired couple from Texas. We love quiet nature retreats and being with people. This place is great for both! We would like for others to be able to experience it.

E'Lane purchased this chateau / country house in 2010

Why E'Lane chose Arkansas

We originally purchased this home for a place to stay when we came to visit our son and his family. We wanted a fun place where we could gather without feeling crowded, a place that would create good memories for the grand kids. It has turned out to be beyond our wildest expectations. It is a peaceful place to play and relax.

What makes this chateau / country house unique

The deck that is across the back allows us to enjoy nature to the fullest from birds and wildlife to the sound of the little seasonal brook trickling over the rocks. A gazebo equipped with a hammock allows for lazy naps. Yet, all this private peace and quiet is only minutes from town and the University of Arkansas. Fayetteville is full of things to do and see, including Crystal Bridges, the largest collection of american art in the world. Yet, true the the 'Natural State' it is surrounded by lakes, parks and unbelievable beauty.

Great Weekend Getaway

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was as advertised, and the owners were very nice to work with. The cabin was clean, and the kitchen was well stocked with dishes and cookware. We spent our days at Devil's Den State park hiking and enjoying the ranger programs. It was about 20 minutes to the park. We had a great weekend, and I hope we can come back soon!

Great house!!!

  • 5 of 5

The house was lovely. Rustic but with lots of high-end finishes. We rented the house and guest house so there was lots of room for all of us. Love the fireplace, large great room and kitchen! It snowed the first night we were there - just a beautiful place!

Relaxing family-time!

  • 5 of 5

We drove in to visit our son at UARK, and enjoy a fall football game. And, although the leaves didn't really turn this year due to all the rain we had a perfectly wonderful time! It did rain most all of our trip, but the house was cozy and warm. We didn't feel like getting out in the rain so we invited our son and a few of his friends out to visit us! Cooking in this well equipped kitchen was a breeze and there were plenty of chairs to seat everyone around the table. The couches were comfortable and there were charming quilts to drape over our laps. We even lit a fire in the fireplace and watched a movie on the flat screen. Thank you for providing dry firewood inside to use, comfortable beds, and for this clean beautiful cabin/home retreat!

Owner's Response: Thank you for the nice review. I'm glad you were able to have a nice family time despite the rain, snuggling down in front of the fireplace. We're looking forward to having you come back for another visit!

Darling wooded retreat!

  • 5 of 5

We traveled with three couples and 1 teenager while our 18 yr old daughter stayed on campus to get a feel for U of Ark. We really loved the house and found it very comfortable and relaxing. E'Lane was very responsive to all our questions and access to the house was very easy. We wanted to spend more time hanging out here, but we ended up spending a lot of time on campus for the game and festivities. The drive back and forth was about 10-15 min which wasn't bad at all. We did hang out by the fire pit on the back porch which was fun. My husband and I stayed in the master and the bed was super comfortable. We'll definitely be back!
