Nestled in the coolest and quietest part of Oak Creek Canyon, the Cliffside Canyon Getaway is conveniently located just 20 minutes from both Sedona and Flagstaff. Tucked away amongst the pines at an altitude of 5600’, and bordering untouched forest service land on two sides, it is ideal for a quick weekend retreat or an extended getaway. With Oak Creek only seconds away, the local “neighborhood white heron” often greets guests as they drive across the bridge to the cabin. The river is stocked with fish, so those with a license can cast a rod as they please. Some of the most scenic and popular hikes in the region are right at your fingertips (West Fork Trail - 2 miles away, Cookstove Trail - .5 mile, and Harding Springs Trail - 1 mile), making the cabin a perfect adventure base camp for those looking to explore.

Vaulted ceilings run throughout the cabin, with exposed beam and rafter construction bringing sophistication and style to this rustic retreat. Stunning tongue-and-groove woodwork gives the home a cabin feel while floor-to-ceiling windows and multiple skylights illuminate the great room with gorgeous natural light and the beauty of Oak Creek Canyon. Fully adjustable blinds and retractable skylight shades make it easy to set the mood or enjoy breathtaking views from the comfort of the cabin. With a hot tub on the private patio with views of the towering cliff walls above, this house makes a perfect place to kick back with family and friends after a day of exploring all that northern Arizona has to offer.

The fully-equipped kitchen boasts granite counters, gorgeous cabinetry, and an open layout that makes for fun and easy meal preparation. The kitchen features modern appliances, a dual sink with garbage disposal, and a full complement of cooking utensils and dishware. Enjoy high-top bar seating at the counter for casual dining or a more formal dining room table with seating for six near the gas fireplace.

Featuring a private entrance and in-room heating unit, the Master Suite offers privacy and comfort with a cozy queen bed and a lovely master bath with a luxurious jetted tub and shower. Down the hall from the great room you will find two additional guest rooms. The first guest room welcomes you with a California king-sized bed and serene views while the second guest room holds a queen bed and built-in twin bunk beds, Both guest rooms enjoy an airy, spacious feel with large windows and quiet ceiling fans.

An inviting deck off the back of the house is a great place to soak in the hot tub after a long hike, or grill out and enjoy an evening meal at the picnic table. Unwind in the Adirondack chairs, take a nap in the double-wide hammock after a busy day of exploring, or wander down the street to cool off in the clear waters of Oak Creek.

Just twenty minutes from I-17 and I-40, and surrounded by a variety of hiking, dining, and shopping options, the Cliffside Canyon Getaway is the perfect home base for all of Sedona's and Flagstaff's attractions. The Arizona Snowbowl is a quick 45 minute drive, and offers world class skiing at a family friendly resort. Grand Canyon is an 90 minute drive north, providing some of the most beautiful scenery in the country.

This amazing location in Oak Creek Canyon lends itself to intermittent cell and TV service, the perfect opportunity to unplug and enjoy the beautiful natural surroundings.

Absolutely AMAZING!!

  • 5 of 5

I booked this gem for a Thursday-Saturday (from Sept 22- 24) stay for a few guests (8) who were coming to my Sedona wedding at L'auberge. I kept my wedding extremely small (20-25) and seeing as they ALL were flying in, I wasn't going to make them ALL stay at the overpriced resorts in town. I found this beautiful place and realized that for 3 nights we'd try it out. Well first thing you'll notice is that it is definitely located in the majestic forest of oak Creek canyon and about 20 mins from Sedona...it's less than 5 mins from the turn off of the main road... the dirt road is a bit bumpy but otherwise fine (GO SLOW!) When we pulled up to the cabin we were in love and couldn't wait to get in. Once inside we were greeted by a beautiful outdoorsy looking cabin with an amazing huge living room. Curiosity will make you want to see the entire place immediately, and you will be pleasantly greeted by a beautiful master bedroom right outside of the kitchen (which has its own full bathroom).... a kitchen that has all the amenities you'll need to cook your guests a nice dinner. Around the corner from the kitchen and down the hall you'll find a guest bedroom that has a beautiful bunk bed and a separate bed in the same room. As you walk down the hall you'll pass the door leading to the beautiful patio and the AMAZING whirlpool. At the end of the hall you'll see the final guest bedroom which is nice, cozy and quiet. If you're looking for a cabin in the woods... this is the real deal! There's soooo many things to do while you're here. I recommend doing a few things during your stay. Getting up early in the morning and going for a walk to take in the beautiful scenery and wilderness. Relaxing inside of the cabin by reading a book or whatever let's you unwind, and last but not least spending lots of time in the whirlpool on the patio! (Don't forget to treat it with chemical owner leaves at cabin... after each use!) I'd report ANY cons about this place but there isn't any! If I could try to think of any, I'd say the cellphone reception is the ONLY negative and I'm sure it'll get better in time. (Also you MUST GPS this place while still in Sedona otherwise you won't have internet along the way to pull it up on your phone (VERY IMPORTANT!) Learning how to turn on the TV and stereo in the living room isn't the easiest but honestly you won't want to. This is a place to get away from all of the distractions such as TV and cellphones. Overall I give this place an A+

Absolutely beautiful!

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We were nestled in the back of a neighborhood with our own private corner and paths to trails we got to enjoy. It's less than 5 mins to picnic locations and great places to run jump and play in Oak Creek. The cabin itself was great with plenty of room for the family. We mainly sat outside or were hiking or playing in the creek but when we were at the cabin we were able to relax. The only downside is there is no wifi and no signal which was great for most of the family. There is a cafe less that 2 miles down the road with WiFi if you absolutely need it. Highly suggest staying at this cabin. From booking to checking in to departure we had an amazing time.

Reviewer Comments:

We arrived at Friday, May the 12th to spend a week relaxing and checking out the local site. House is located in a very nice and quiet neighborhood. The cabin was clean and had all of the items listed, but after the first night we realized that the dishwasher was not working properly and let soap on all of the items in the dishwasher and all of the plates, glasses and silverware in the cabinets has dishwasher powder on them. We contacted the property management company and was told they would try to get it taken care of, but nothing ever happened and we had to waste our time each day washing dishes. We also attempted to use the hot tub the first night and it was dirty and filled with suds. We also contacted the management company about this and was told they would try to fix it, that never happened either. We do not have a hot tub at home and were looking forwarding to using it. We were very disappointed with the "no response" from the management company.
