About Lisa or Hans
Patricia McArdle Cooper is a native West Virginian who married, moved to south Florida after college (West Virginia Institute of Technology), raised a family, and had two full careers as an educator in Palm Beach County Schools. She longed to rediscover WV and her Irish roots, and after retiring in 2012 from her second career, her dream came true. She found Pipestem Place, named it Anam Cara Way (Gaelic for “soul friend”), and thus began her third career of fun in “cabin-care” and reconnecting with family and friends in “wild, wonderful” West Virginia.

Everything was great only exception was no firewood there and it was stated to there in al info provided prior to arrival packet in cabin stated firewood was available at Liberty store which it was not they were out no wood available nearby. Robin overall was a great experience.
A perfect 4 day getaway! Plenty to do if you want to stay busy or perfect for just chilling out!
The Robin was a perfect cabin for the 2 of us! Exceptionally clean, comfy king size bed, well stocked with everything we needed and nicely appointed furnishings. Lots to do in the area and several interesting small towns within easy driving distance. For us the Robin was an awesome place for just a relaxing 4 day getaway!!
Cabin was lovely must have had something going on at pipestem because we got to listen to a free concert. I would highly recommend this place and will return myself.
Heaven on Earth!
I just can't say enough about how wonderful our trip was!!! The cabin was beautiful, squeaky clean, comfortable and well stocked. We loved sitting on the front deck and gazing out over the fields...so quiet and peaceful. The Jacuzzi was such a treat in the evenings! This is a perfect sized cabin for a couple looking to escape from it all. Some of the nicest things were NO land line and no Internet. We were able to make and receive calls on our cell phones but only to let family know we arrived safely. Just relax in this serene country landscape and let your troubles vanish. The owner and managers were so friendly and helpful in every way. Be sure to go to Pipestem State Park, if for nothing else than the tram ride. Definitely looking forward to coming back next year!
We had a wonderful stay in this cabin. It had everything we could ask for and was the perfect home base for us to visit family in the area. Thank you!!
Quaint and clean but no WIFI or land line
We stayed for a long weekend March 23 through the 26th. It was myself, husband, and two young girls. We chose this location because it is close to family that lives in the area.
The extra large front porch/deck was perfect for all our family to come visit, sit, and socialize all weekend long.
The interior was clean. Couches were in excellent condition.
Plenty of towels, throw blankets, pillows, etc.
Kitchen was well-stocked with dishes, cookware, utensils, etc.
There is no wifi, and our phones wouldn't pick up a signal at all. There is also no landline, which made it impossible to contact our family who lived in the area. We could pick up signal (spotty at best) if we went out into the driveway. wifi or landline is definitely needed in case of emergency.
The hot water heater is set extremely high that hot water from the faucets can quickly burn you.
We had a huge problem with wasps. They appeared to be coming in from both of the large sky windows in the living room and also the skylight over the king bed. We called the owner, who VERY QUICKLY sent someone over with a can of wasp spray (we were out sightseeing) and left the can for us to use as well. However, it will need professional attention to get rid of them. My husband was stung while laying in the bed. We were told by family that this was the first warm day (over 70degrees) of the season, so it may explain why they are coming out. We killed at least 10 of them.
The folding/camping lawn chairs are ripped and not usable, but there was plenty of other outdoor seating available.
Overall, we were impressed with how clean and well-stocked the cabin is. We enjoyed the stay. The location is convenient to area parks, and not far from "town". However, we would only stay there again if there was wifi or a home phone added.
