About Danielle

We are a family of 4 who recently purchased a house in the Keys for family vacations. We would like to share this wonderful location with you. We love to lobster, fish, kayak, snorkel, dive, bicycle and much more. Our children spent this past Christmas swimming in the canal. Since we are from NC, swimming in December was a real treat.

Danielle purchased this house in 2012

Why Danielle chose Lower Keys Area

This is a great neighborhood with great boating to the open ocean or the Gulf of Mexico. It is close to some of the best diving and fishing places in the world. You will also find this neighborhood very accommodating for walking or bicycling.

What makes this house unique

My husband and I fell in love with this property because of the relaxing back porch and the loads of available outdoor family activities in the area. Sugarloaf Key offers bigger house lots so you have a little more room than some of the other keys. Quiet neighborhood with bigger lots.

Calm, lovely, we'll be back

  • 5 of 5

The house sits on a lovely canal. The "neighborhood" -- the people who live on the canal, are pleasant insofar as we met them. There is a very large porch, unscreened (please, Danielle, leave it that way!) that allows a nice view, through some palm trees, of the canal and houses across the way. The house most prominent is a ground-level green house, nicely landscaped, which provides a great backdrop. So, in other words, the physical surroundings and neighbors are just what we wanted. This includes, by the way, the two people across the road who looked in on us and we wish we'd gotten to know better -- and we will our next trip.

Inside, the house is spacious and simple. There are three bedrooms which different sorts of beds. We alternated between two of them, each with its own character. The more we were there the more it felt like OUR house and we hated to leave it. By the way, the kitchen is wonderfully stocked with plenty of plates, utensils, pots, etc.

There were a few things that needed attention. The most critical was that there was no comfortable table and chairs on the aforementioned deck, so at first we couldn't take much advantage of that deck. When we asked Danielle to help us out she managed to get a big outdoor table and six comfortable chairs installed within a few days -- amazingly fast for the keys. The other thing we would have liked a lot was a swim ladder, since our main reason for going to the keys, besides the general ambiance, is to swim. As it was, we had to kind of climb in on some soft coral. This was not really a problem, but it could be a problem for some people. Danielle is in the process of taking care of this, but getting a swim ladder bought and installed involves more than buying a table. Danielle was responsive, or always did her best to be, to our concerns. The property has had a good deal of work and is quite fit to live in but there are still a few that clearly over time will be updated.

The keys, in case you haven't been there, are unique, quite unlike the rest of Florida. Laid back. Some people are not made for the keys, but if you are a keys type, you will love this house. We are planning to be back next year and the year after too!

Excellent!

  • 5 of 5

Had a wonderful vacation and cannot say enough about the accommodations. The house is incredibly clean, well supplied with basic needs and very comfortable to relax in. We enjoyed the use of the kayaks, bikes and canal in the back for daily water entertainment. The house is close enough to enjoy the down town Key West experience but also close to northern attractions such as Boone Docks Restaurant/Miniature Golf and Bahia Honda State Park. Danielle is wonderful to work with and we look forward to booking another trip in 2017.

I couldn't have asked for better!

  • 5 of 5

First,...I want to say the property is BEAUTIFUL! The pictures are nice, but they do not compare in person. The location is perfect. On several occasions, I walked right out of the house and right into the water. How refreshing! I didn't have to worry about my towel getting all sandy, people staring at me funny, and I had first class seats everyday. Getting to Key West or Marathon was a breeze.

We ate out often to explore the area's restaurants, but the kitchen is top notch. I've rented different properties before, and none had the variety/stock that is available at this property. The entire house was well stocked, and CLEAN. The owners have thought of everything, and have made their home available for everyone to enjoy. Bicycles are available, a kayak (which I enjoyed), and the outside furniture. A gas grill is available, but we didn't use it.

Danielle was very easy to work with, and was readily available when I needed questions answered. It truly felt like, 'Home sweet home'. I can't wait to return back to this property.

There are several excursion companies in Key West that offers a variety of activities. We did a "Reef & Rita" tour, sail/snorkel, with FURY. We chose the 1-4p time slot and had a blast. Their margarita's packed a punch! Restaurants were awesome. I suggest doing some research, reading through the journal/menus at the house, or asking some locals. Danielle also made a few suggestions like, The Square Grouper. It was fantastic. I did not have a reservation, and I made it before the big rush- but everything gets busy at typical dinner hours- so go early, go late, make a reservation,...or you'll wait.

Outstanding place

  • 5 of 5

Probably one of the most relaxing places we've been to in years. The house is immaculate, tastefully decorated and everything you need is there. Lots of stuff to do within a 20 minute drive. This was our first time to the keys, but will not be our last. The owners are friendly and willing to handle any problems that may arise and They care about the guests having a good time. We look forward to staying here again.

June in the Keys

  • 5 of 5

Our stay was wonderful, location, weather but most of all the home was the best. The newly renovated home is comfortable, and decorated beautifully. During our stay we all felt "at home". The view from the huge deck is great, we all enjoyed our morning coffe out there. This is a great get away or family vacation.
