About Brandi McLain

My husband and I are local from Luray, Va. We have a beautiful baby son, and two dogs. We love our family time together, and we wanted to have a place where others could have family times and enjoy the cool mountain air.

Brandi McLain purchased this cabin in 2006

Why Brandi McLain chose New Market

We used to live in this cabin until we out grew it when we had our son. We loved the cabin so much we couldn't part with it. So we decided to let other families enjoy it too!

What makes this cabin unique

This cabin has fresh spring water, beautiful views of the Shenandoah Valley, and cool mountain air in the summer. To relax we have 4 person hot tub.

Best Birthday Ever!

  • 5 of 5

My husband & I just loved the cabin to the point of not wanting to leave. The week just wasn't long enough. Brandi was a sweetheart! She assured us that she was there for us if we ever needed anything. We got it as a last-minute deal and I'm grateful we were able to find this. It was like a honeymoon all over again. We did some exploring, went to the zoo--but mostly we enjoyed the solitude. In my work, I'm around chaos almost on a daily basis and it was good to just sit back and exhale for a week. Enjoyed the location, the beauty of the surroundings, the coziness of the cabin, etc. It was a wonderful stay. Hope to do this again! Thank you, Brandi!

Relaxing cabin

Great little cabin up off the main road. Very cozy. Hot tub was wonderful after tubing all day on the Shenandoah. Our dogs loved it too.

Nice place to stay when you want to enjoy Shenandoah but don’t want to camp.

  • 3 of 5

This is a nice, quiet cabin. We enjoyed spending time here. Lucky for us, the weather report was wrong and the rain stayed away for most of our time there. The hot tub was a huge bonus! The kids loved it. The main bedroom had a wonderful mattress, we slept well and the AC unit made it nice and chilly at night. We also enjoyed bringing our dog Freddie to join in our adventure!

The driveway is steep, has huge grooves and bumps throughout. I would be cautious to rent this house if you do not have a 4-wheel drive vehicle. Also, the house was closer to the street than expected. Although our bed was delightful, the bunk bed mattresses were “less the comfortable”, according to our kids.

Overall, we liked this cabin, Brandi was quick to answer our questions and we would recommend it as a nice step up from cabin camping.

Nice little cabin close to things to do

  • 4 of 5

This is a great little cabin if you are looking for a no frills place to stay that is near attractions. Luray Caverns is a 15 minute drive away, and there are some really cute little restaurants in downtown Luray. The cabin is right off the highway, but it's tucked away so it wasn't an issue for us. The driveway is steep, as the listing mentions, and could use some improvements to remove the deep grooves at the bottom. We got up using our 2-wheel drive Kia Sorento, but wish we had our 4-wheel drive vehicle instead. The yard is a nice size, and the fire pit and hot tub are an added bonus. The house is old, so this isn't the place for you if you are looking for something fancy and new. There are 2 window AC units; 1 in the main living area, and 1 in the master bedroom. There isn't 1 in the bunkbed room, but we didn't have any issues with it getting hot in there as long as we left the door open. The bedding and throw pillows and blankets could use a good cleaning, but overall everything was very comfortable and we felt right at home. Thanks for a great stay!

We had a great time!

  • 4 of 5

Very nice cabin. It was close to everything. The driveway needs some work. There are big grooves in the driveway. It was hard to drive on and scary at times.

But we had an amazing time!

Thank you!
