Luxurious 1600 sq. ft. self-contained suite on ground level of waterfront home with 1 large and 1 small covered patio, open kitchen, dining and living room area with wall-mounted 46' Cable TV, gas fireplace, 2 bedrooms each with its own en suite facilities and vanities. The unit is tastefully appointed.

This unit is probably the only non-institutional truly wheelchair accessible accommodation on the Sunshine Coast - and one of very few in the greater Vancouver area - all doors are minimum 36' wide, higher than normal toilets, grab bars in the bathtub areas, and portable equipment rated to capably transporting a person up to 350 pounds between wheelchair and bed, toilet, bath, sofa, floor, etc.

It is located on over 83 feet of walk-on waterfront; the waters of Georgia Strait are literally only a few feet from your front door. This is the nicest and most popular sandy beach in Roberts Creek - and possibly the entire Sunshine Coast. It is renowned as being a relatively safe beach for children as the sandy beach slopes gradually and gently away from the beach for hundreds of feet.

A new boathouse on the property provides free secure storage for your car top rowboat, kayak, canoe, bicycle, fishing gear, etc.

Go to sleep at night - or wake up in the morning - to the relaxing sound of the waves lapping at the beach. Enjoy the sights and sounds of bald eagles, herons, ducks, Canada geese, woodpeckers, and other birds; the boat traffic including individuals in their canoes, kayaks and other pleasure craft, commercial fish and prawn boats, BC Ferries traveling between the mainland and Nanaimo, freighters, beachcombers, tugs towing barges or logs, cruise ships on their Vancouver/Alaska runs in season; the occasional seal, sea lion, river otter, whale and salmon in the water - and bear, deer, elk, coyotes, raccoons and other wildlife on land - all have been sighted here.

This is an ideal spot to be as active as you wish - or to just relax and commune with nature - and yet be close to all the amenities anyone could desire, including local transit service to/from Sechelt, Gibsons, the ferry terminal at Langdale, etc. The small commercial center of Roberts Creek is less than a 5 minute walk away.

I am a native of the Vancouver area....born in Vancouver, grew up in Richmond, married a girl from Vancouver and raised our family in Richmond We became 'empty nesters' and moved to Roberts Creek in 1989.

Karen purchased this house in 1989

Why Karen chose Sunshine Coast

My wife's extended family had a waterfront property with a rustic 2 bedroom cottage about 1 mile east from here.

Her great uncle purchased that property from Union Steamships in the early 1920's - and he built the cottage. My wife spent many of her childhood summers there. My first visit to Roberts Creek was about 1966, I fell in love with the beach - and the environs - and decided this was where I wanted to eventually retire. We looked for a long time...many properties in the area became available but we were very specific in what we wanted; the choice/prime properties on 'sandy beach' seldom 'go on the market'; we waited almost 10 years - and when this one became available in 1989, we bought it.

We became 'empty nesters' about this time - all 3 of our children moved out within a year - so before they had a chance to move back in, we moved out! I was fortunate and able to get a (work) transfer to this area about the time we took possession of this property, so we moved here (to the 'old' house on this property). The local 'old guard' tell me it takes 25 years of residency in Roberts Creek to be classified as a 'local' - and not just a 'summer complaint'; by that definition, I have become a 'local' - or 'Creeker'.

What makes this house unique

My wife, Kathie, was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer in 2002 - and told she had 6-8 months. Through her attitude, clinical trials, continuous chemotherapy, surgical heroics and perseverance, she lasted over 8 years. I retired in early 2003 to support, spend time and work on her 'bucket list'.

One of her items on her 'bucket list' was for me to build - and us to live in - a new architecturally designed wheelchair accessible home...I still call it her 'Taj Mahal'. (I wanted a 1500sq. ft. bungalow - she got her wish; an almost 3400 sq ft mansion.)

So we had the existing home moved back about 75 feet, made some modifications to it, and had all overhead services (Hydro, Tel and Cable) placed underground.

I spent much of the next 3 1/2 years building this large, luxurious home for her (there were several delays - as travel was also on her 'bucket list'; she loved cruising - and wanted to visit every continent before she left this world - and she did that too!...we went to the last one, Antarctica, 8 months before she passed away).

She also realized her dream of living in her 'Taj Mahal' - for over 2 1/2 years before her demise.

The name Kamile is partially in her memory: KA - for Kathie; MI - for Mike; and LE for Lesik.

TOP Location & spacious house

This might just be THE best location in Robert's Creek - we loved it so much we will be sure to come back!

We stayed here for the Easter weekend with our two sons and thoroughly enjoyed all the space the apartment has to offer. Another big plus - each bedroom has its own bathroom! The garden & outside seating area looks right out to the ocean and a few rocks further down you are at the beach!

And not just any beach - the sandy part of Robert's Creek (especially at low tide!) My 3 year old played down there all day!

Everything was clean and the kitchen has all you need to cook up for a family + there is a BBQ (we just didn't get around using it but great to have!)

Mike was a great host, very friendly and accommodating. Thank you Mike, we had a wonderful time and hopefully we will see you again soon!

Great place for Vacation! !

Our stay at this waterfront resort was great! Mike was there to greet us upon arrival and gave us the grand tour and some useful information. The house was very well kept and clean. To have our own kitchen to prepare some of our meals was great and the use of the washer and dryer came in handy as well. To see the ocean sunrise and sunset was amazing! The sunshine coast is stunning! Only one thing that came as a surprise was to pay for the propane for the Bbq. It was advertised as having a bbq so one would think the propane would be provided. Overall a great place to stay! Would return again.

The Orca's and dolphins are returning to this area, and can sometimes been seen in the waters outside the suite. Maybe next time you will spot them! Outstanding beachfront property.

Wonderful place to stay on the Sunshine Coast. Watch the cruise ships sail up and down the strait.. See the lights of Nanaimo. Watch the seals; herons and eagles or go for a swim on the tidal flats. The house is beautiful with plenty of room. Mike, the owner, does an outstanding job. Simply a great place to spend some time.

May Long weekend 2015

This was the perfect setting for our family getaway. Mike was the perfect host, and made us feel welcomed but not smothered. The place was perfectly equipped to meet our needs, and the location could not have been better: beautiful sandy beaches and a short (beautiful) walk into Roberts Creek.
