Quaint and full of charm
Our family of 10 (8 adults, 2 children) were recently in Elkhart Lake to attend a wedding. This beautiful home was perfect for our needs. It was immaculately clean, with extremely nice linens (both bed and bath) and furnishings. The bathrooms were the cleanest I've ever encountered in a rental property; I'm ashamed to say probably cleaner than mine at home! Absolutely the only negative I can find is that the kitchen is very small. This wasn't a problem for us because we weren't here to stay home and cook, most of our meals were out. That being said there was a grill in the backyard which would be very helpful.
The location of Burdie's Nest is ideal; just a short walk to most anything. It was especially great for us with the wedding tent on the lawn just across the street. No need to worry about parking.
We would definitely rent this home again if vacationing in the area and would recommend to anyone looking for a larger home. The owner was extremely accommodating in allowing us an early check-in so that we could be available for early wedding festivities. Thanks, Bill, for sharing your lovely home with us! We can tell that you take much pride in your property.
House was extremely clean and had plenty of room. Bedrooms were spacious and the location was perfect.
Great vacation home with excellent location
Our family needed 5 bedrooms and this home is perfect! It comes with passes to a private (residents only) beach on Elkhart lake and is a very short walk from the home. The house is very clean and fresh. We loved the screen porch and watching all the vacationers going by. Making s'mores around the backyard fire pit was loads of fun! The home is walking distance to everything in Elkhart lake. We rent pontoons, paddle boards. The owner is a gem to work with. We'll be back making family memories!
Very clean and spacious house. We were in Elkhart for a long weekend at a family wedding. 10 of us were in the house....3 family's that included four grandkids. Plenty of room and the location was great...5 minute walk to a wonderful public beach, walking distance to restaurants and the wedding we attended. William was very accommodating to our family needs. Loved the screened porch! We'll be back!
Wonderful house in downtown Elkhart
Out the door turn right & your just down the street from Paddock Club and Lake Street Café, turn left and there's just one house between you and the historic Siebkens Stop-Inn Tavern. The evenings would end recapping the day's festivities in the front sitting room or out back around the fire pit which, while right in downtown, feels like you are miles away.
Home away from home feel!
Burdie's Nest was more than we could ever ask for. As the multiple reviews have already stated, the very best part of the house is the location!, location!, location! What a great spot with a 5 minute walk to the lake, to Otto's restaurant at the Osthoff where we dined multiple times and then a 5 minute walk the other way to town with all the other restaurants,
However, in addition to the location, the house itself was very clean, and very roomy. The bedrooms were all great as well as the kitchen, the living room and the front screened in patio where we spent most early mornings. We also spent most nights outside around the fire pit which was truly enjoyable.
There is no question that we would go back and stay here again!
Relax in the wooded backyard or sit on the screen porch with a book. Walk to the lake, ice cream parlor, cafe, bars, library, shopping or restaurants- all within 100 yards of this ideal location. Less than 4 miles to the front gate of Road America. Located on the historic original Elkhart Lake Road Race course.
