About the property

2 Bedroom, 2 Bath, Stunning Mountain/ocean Views, Private

This is a corner first floor unit, very quiet and although in a condo you feel very isolated. There are no visible neighbors out of either bedroom windows. The living room lanai is also very private with nothing but jungle as far as you can see. The bathrooms and kitchen look onto green belts and the ocean, the cliff that separates you from the ocean is 500 feet away. The living room is appointed with All Hawaiian , newly bought furniture. There is a full kitchen , with all you need to cook or entertain. The unique aspect of the Alli Kai 1 area is that it is so quiet and open, with lots of parking, green belts and endless views. The floors are bamboo, slate in the bathrooms and carpet in the bedrooms. You have a very private and relaxing lanai to sit and read or take in the many birds that will eat out of your hand. It is a wonderful, relaxing place to get away from it all and rejuvenate. There is a pool .and common outdoor bbq, Shopping and 3 golf courses are in the community.

About Howard Campbell

I live in Channel Islands, California by the beach, I have a 23 yr old son and a 18 yr old daughter and 2 dogs that all love the beach. We go to Kauai as much as possible but for now I have to see my daughter through high school and into college.

Howard Campbell purchased this condo in 2003

Why Howard Campbell chose North Shore

I looked at 10 properties that were in the Princeville aea. This was the last one I looked at and I fell in love with the privacy of this place. You can park a car sideways and no one would complain. It was built when they gave elbow room to the grounds. The views are stunning and because it is a corner, first floor unit, I feel like I have no neighbors. The back yard you only see jungle and mountains.

What makes this condo unique

The views, access to golf and beach and shopping again the quietness. The variety of birds that come from all over and you can hand feed and the extensive roominess of both the unit, parking and grounds.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We had a fantastic stay at the condo in Princeville. It was convenient to everything plus we had a good view of the ocean and a wonderful green belt patio to enjoy our coffee on

Notes:
Kauai is an island that you can find all the adventure you want or do nothing. My place is quiet, peaceful and refreshing. A great place to adventure all day and go back to a quiet night and do it all again the next day. Golf is everywhere around Princeville. The most beautiful beaches in the world are here. World class hotel, the St. Regis for massage, dining and drinks, just 1/2 mile away. It was featured in the movie the Decendants.Breathtaking Hanalei Bay is 2 miles by car, or at the ground floor of the St. Regis by walking.

Quiet and comfortable but needs work

  • 3 of 5

Good location in Princeville 1.5 miles from the grocery store and other shops (although the condo description says it is an easy .5 mile walk). We enjoyed our stay as it was quiet and the living room was comfortable but the bathrooms need serious updating. The master bath shower was bad enough that my wife refused to use it. The kitchen is pretty well stocked for cooking but there were a few irritants like no coffee filters, no dishwasher detergent, the icemaker doesn't work, and the top of the refrigerator and the stove hood were greasy and dirty.

There are a few barbecues on the grounds but the nearest one had a broken grill and was unusable and the other had no grill brush to clean a very dirty grill.

I'm short, the condo is a good value for the Princeville area. It's just tired and needs updating especially the bathrooms.

A great place to stay while on Kauai

  • 5 of 5

This is a great place to stay while you're visiting Kauai, particularly if you want to enjoy the north shore beaches. You can get to any of them within 20 minutes which is important as some parking areas fill up fast.

The accommodations were in very good shape, the place was very clean and had all the necessary amenities. We were very pleased with the state of the unit when we showed up.

There are lots of towels, including ones for the beach, so you don't have to bring those with you. Howard is a very attentive host and personally makes sure that everything is okay and will quickly respond to your full satisfaction if something needs attention. The place is very spacious and we appreciated having some extra room to move about, not confined to one room as you would be in a resort or hotel.

The location is very private and quiet. We heard nothing from the neighbouring units. There is lots of parking available very near to the unit.

There is good shopping near by so that you can get necessary groceries and such, even including an Ace hardware store. There are also many good restaurants and amenities in Hanalei, only about 15 minutes away. Some of the shore excursion cruise boats leave from this side of the island so it's also convenient for that.

As noted, this is on the north shore so getting to Lihue and Waimea canyon is about an hour drive. But if you want the best access to the best beaches, this location is best as they are all close. Try Tunnels beach (park at Ha'ena Beach and walk there) for great snorkeling and to see a lot of different varieties of fish.

We were definitely pleased with our choice to stay here and will book it again when we next visit Kauai. Thanks for a great visit, Howard!

Position was amazing - saw whales from cliff top

  • 5 of 5

The property was spacious and clean. We had everything we needed plus comfortable beds and good showers. The chickens were noisy one morning but not the next morning. Exciting to step over to enjoy the evening sea view and see whales some way out and even saw one breach! We also came across an albatross chick in the neighbourhood with signs telling us the bird was ok and not to approach. Our daughters used the pool. Lovely spot to stay. Grateful that Howard was immediately available by phone as I had written the condo number down incorrectly!

Good value for increasingly expensive Kauai

  • 4 of 5

While the unit is in need of updating (please replace the microwave and clean the ceiling around the fans), it made a fine home base for daily explorations. We saved money by eating in, and the unit is quiet and the complex is nicely situated on a bluff. Many whales!

Awesome place, basic comforts, great home base.

  • 5 of 5

Me and my family of three loved this place. It is a corner unit, with a lot of privacy, and very quiet (other than the chickens). The beds were comfortable, and the breeze was lovely when the windows were all open. The whole house was very clean, and the kitchen is a bit outdated, but everything worked great, which is exactly what we needed. We met Patricia on the very last day (managed the property) and she was great. We would definitely stay again.
