Why Sherry or Peter Hartridge chose British Columbia Rockies

Location, location! Situated on a 3 acre parcel on a secondary road off the highway, on the Transit route, safe, quiet and secure. Steps away from your private beach, beautiful Kootenay Lake offering great fishing, abundant water activities, very tranquil!

Awesome view year around, great Canadian Kootenays experience for the International traveller new to British Columbia.

What makes this cottage unique

One of the most scenic locations on Kootenay Lake. Easy access, safe and private. As well, close to great hiking, mountain biking, fishing, skiing and many other activities. Just a 10 minute drive or bus ride to downtown Nelson. Some of the finest drinking water in the Kootenays right from the tap.

Very relaxing

  • 5 of 5

Our recent stay was our 4th year at the cottage. We very much enjoy our vacations here because of the cleanliness of the cottage (and it's amenities), the water front access, the short distance to Nelson; and the owners, Peter and Sherry are great people and easy to deal with.

Wonderful Holiday!

Acorn Lane is a beautifully maintained older character cottage. Sherri and Peter are wonderful hosts and have made their property a destination we will return to! Thanks for everything!

Beautiful Property and Wonderful Vacation

  • 5 of 5

This was our first stay at this property and it won't be our last. The cottage is charming, clean and nicely equipped. We loved sitting out on the front deck with breathtaking views of the lake and mountains, and evening star gazing. I used the private beach daily and it was very nice to be able to take my kayak out right in front of the cottage. Sherry and Peter are two of the nicest people you will meet and thoughtfully checked in with us periodically to make sure we had all we needed. It was a wonderful two weeks and great experience.

Owner's Response: 😐 Hmm, some people you can't satisfy! If you Ifyou leave the doors open all the time and food on the counter guess what? You will attract ants.We offered to deal with the ants but were told That youwould. We live on three acres of lakefront with one neighbor who is very occasionally here and the other you can't see. 200 ft of private beach. Read the majority of other reviews. Enough said.

Absolute... relaxation !

  • 5 of 5

excitement from the drive down the winding road in the lush June forrest to the arrival at the cabin.... it was all you would want. Sherry and Peter were great hosts and most importantly welcoming, to our dog Emi. She had just enough freedom to explore and chase and probably the best " dog cation " every... this, in turn made my husband and myself happy and we did nothing but read, and sleep and cook and just sit and watch the Lake. Brought back all my memories of summers on Kootenay Lake like I had hoped. Driftwood is always fun to examine and toss for the dog, was not too cold for her to swim ! Nelson is just minutes away and this cottage is tucked away from the main highway down a horseshoe road, so very quiet and serene. Water was high, but firewood was plentiful... thus, my hubby was in heaven... sitting by such as much as he wanted. The cabin is quaint with matching bedrooms, and lots of living space. The highlight was a " double rainbow " over the mountains/water views at dinner our last night there ! We woke up morning to birds and spent afternoons watching the paddlers slowly and quietly tour by. Was peaceful and lovely and would go back again ... as real holiday it was. thank you to the Hartridges...for sharing your property.
